Walk on Water... Today in the News 5/6/2014:

Opening Statement:
I have been avoiding a topic for a week for good reason but now I need to vent for a bit. Has anyone seen the interview Barbara Walters did with the girlfriend of the former Clippers owner. She will be the next train wreck of a TV show you see. Here is a portion of her interview with Barbara Walters, She cannot be for real. Stiviano denied having a romantic relationship with Sterling, saying she is his personal assistant and sees Sterling as “a father figure” -- calling herself his "silly rabbit." She claims that people around Sterling would say negative things about her to him, saying they “poison his mind and heart about things about me,” which would drive him to say certain things. “I think Mr. Sterling is from a different generation than I am. I think he was brought up to believe these things … segregation, whites and blacks,” Stiviano said. “But through his actions he’s shown that he’s not a racist. He’s shown to be a very generous and kind man.” HE'S NOT! Girl your mind has been washed.

I'll stop here because I am starting to get upset again.

So what is taking place Today in the News....

All this and More in Today in the News....

Good Day Sacramento:
Ken and Julissa took care of the Show and Tell portion of the show today. Ken talked about Denver Broncos WR Wes. Welker handing out $100's after he won big at the Kentucky Derby. Julissa made homemade churros yesterday and shared with the staff. Ken, Marianne, and Courtney all liked them and that made Julissa very happy. She then posted the recipe which I included above. Ken had another edition of Sensational Senior today of a man who helps clean the Rancho Cordova area. The 5am Club member was introduced. Marianne's Daily List talked about gifts Mom's hate. Does that mean she won't like my Stevie Johnson XXL jersey I got her? Oh well I'll keep it since it's the perfect size. (Kidding) Today's Show Us Yours is Favorite Teacher but with the wild weather we had overnight any pictures of that too.

Amy was in Fairfield checking out Famous Creations while they make cupcakes with a twist. YouTube Mom Joni Hilton showed off 5 Mothers Day Ideas you can make and will have 5 more at 7am. Ken talked with California Chrome Trainer Art Sherman. Mark is going to learn how to barefoot water ski today and this hour was talking about it.

With the Target Card mess companies may be forced to start using a Smart Card said Brian Cooley from CNet. Also in this hour Tina showed a woman who helps rescue chickens. Courtney showed off a new water filtration system from CamelBak. Mark continued to learn to Barefoot Water ski and Amy showed more mouth watering cake and cupcake creations from Famous Creations in Fairfield. YouTube Mom did not appear due to breaking news.

In this very busy hour Mark finally got out in the water and barefoot water skied. Amy was in midtown checking out Block Butcher Bar. Courtney was hanging out in the Good Day Kitchen with Panda Express as they are the May Grub Run supplier. Be sure to enter you and your office for Lunch with Tina and Panda Express. Cambi along with Courtney assisted each other in the game What The Heck is That Emigh Hardware Edition. Court's Tunes was played with the theme of Water. The #9amtopic was introduced Monica Lewinsky - Fascinating or time to bury the blue dress.

In this final hour of the day Laura and Julissa took us through the hour and the #9amtopic. Courtney headed to Emigh Hardware for Round 2 of What the heck is that. Mark met a new friend with a bigger boat when water skiing. Tina was in the kitchen with Kid Chef Mason who will be appearing this weekend in Auburn giving cooking demo's. Ken's Manly Minute today talked about rules for the Barbershop. Tina's final question today was What are you too chicken to do.

Final Thoughts:
Today Cambi started the first round of What the Heck is That at Emigh Hardware. In the 9am hour it was revealed her dress today looked like it came from the Star Trek Collection. You be the judge. star trek

Courtney took over Round 2 of the What the Heck is That in the 9am hour.

Grub Run is back for May and you can win lunch for you and your office with Good Day Sacramento's Tina Macuha and Panda Express. Today Panda was in studio showing what they are now offering.

Today is National Big Day of Giving, This message was posted by Tina yesterday.
From Tina: BIG Day of Giving.
The BIG Day of Giving is a 24-hour online giving challenge on May 6, 2014. Starting at Midnight, the Sacramento Region will come together for one BIG Day of Giving to support the nonprofits that lift up lives and make this the place we call home. Tomorrow, May 6, 2014, is "A Day of Giving" - a national online giving day to your favorite charity. Our local community has nearly 400 non-profits hoping you will contribute to the one closest to your heart. I've worked with many groups but the following people have personally reached out to me asking if I can mention their organization's name. I encourage you to read more about the following: Albie Aware Breast Cancer Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, California Food Literacy Center and St. John's Shelter for Women & Children. Here's the link:
Plus this story was not covered. Big Day of Giving: Shakespeare Festival

Today Ken gave Barbershop tips in his Manly Minute. I guess reason #1 is why I don't go into a Barbershop because I prefer a female to cut my hair. But I do agree with the other tips given especially smelling nice and making no eye contact and sitting still.

It might just be a coincidence but you may remember that Kid Chef Nicolas was on Good Day on Sunday, Today Kid Chef Mason was on. It seems like when one is on the other is days later. Again that just might be a coincidence but just my observation. Nonetheless Mason was in the Good Day Kitchen making omelets and talking about his cooking demo coming up this weekend.

OMG! I've never been there but Amy was at Famous Creations in Fairfield. First for margarita cupcakes and then in the next hour it was like a piƱata filled cake filled with M&M's and Peanut Butter cup. This tasty treat looked so good.

It's always good when someone other than Ken steps up and steals Show & Tell like Julissa did today with her homemade Churro's. The fact that all the ones who tried them really liked them making Jullisa a very happy girl.

Today Mark S. Allen headed to Walnut Grove. This trip had Mark Learn how to water ski. Not just any water ski. Today Mark learned how to barefoot water ski. At first I wasn't. Sure Mark was going to be able to do it based on how his instructor for the day was so incredible. Water skiing one handed, one foot, on his butt and more. But they had a boom attached to the boat to help Mark stay up and feel the water hit his face. It looked like it would hurt or sting. Nice job Mark.

Tomorrow Fox40 will return to Today in the News but I can tell you that Good Day is going to have a HUGE week of shows including Stitch Fix in studio tomorrow along with Dishin With Tina and so much more.....
