Opening Statement:
Yesterday Phase 2 started on Fix50 so I did my own unscientific survey. By taking surface streets from my starting point in West Sacramento to catch HWY 99 to go home. So I started on my trek toward the I Street Bridge because I remembered what Courtney said about it.I headed into downtown Sacramento to catch the streets to take for the drive home. Total drive time to home..... 42 minutes. Normal drive time with no construction about 25 minutes. (This Survey was done around 1230pm)

The Thunder Over Solano 2014 Travis AFB Air Expo is scheduled for May 3-4. We are one of only 2 bases in California to host an airshow. This is a free, open to the public event. Gates open at 9:30a.m. both days and the performances are from 10:30 a.m.- 4:30p.m. The Army Golden Knights parachute team will kick off the event, while the Thunderbirds close it with an hour long performance.

7am:
To kick off today's show the Show us yours topic was Spidey pose for the opening of Spider-Man 2 in which Cody saw. The #GDSJustCurious Topic was in which historical era would you like to visit. Tina was getting ready to set sail on a 3 hour tour... Wait what I've seen this tour before it ends badly. Stay tuned to the 8am hour for the dramatic conclusion of Tina on a Boat. Lori was in El Dorado Hills looking at gorgeous Gardens and making everyone drool over them only to realize our gardens look nothing like these beauties. Kevin was at my old High School for a Flea Market at El Camino HS. Amy and Cody talked to Toby Philpott who was Jabba the Huts left arm in Star Wars as he prepares for May the 4th Be With You.
8am:
Cody talked to Mathew Harral who makes art using coffee and Wine. He showed off his art in this hour and then created a totally new piece in the 2nd hour. Cody also talked via Skype to Suveen Mathaudhu who talked about the science behind the Captain America Shield. Amy was with Josie from Rire Boutique who has one shop on Folsom Blvd. and will soon open another on 25th and J Street. Lori continued from Garden in the Hills making us all drool more. Kevin headed to Fairfield for the Travis Air Show Thunder over Solano. and Tina's 3 hour tour was only 3 minutes so she was safe.
9am:
In this hour Kevin continued from Travis Open House. Cody slapped us hard with 3D science. Matthew created not 1 but 2 works of art with coffee. Amy talked more with Josie about Rire Boutique. Tina was in Natomas checking out the Duck Pluck event to benefit Natomas schools. Lori was showing her inner geek at Empire Comics for FREE Comic Book Day and some even lined up before 6am to get their free comic book.
10am:
In this final hour of the show today comedian Craig Shoemaker stopped by before he performs at Tommy T's Tonight. Keven continued from Travis AFB where he and some Airmen recreated a slow motion scene from Top Gun. Mariachi singer Veronica Esparza took the Good Day Stage. Tina was at YOLO Burger checking out this new restaurant. Lori was home in Elk Grove checking out the parade for the Elk Grove Western Festival. Melissa shared her Hot Headlines including Ben Affleck getting kicked out of a casino for counting card.
Final Thoughts:
Today I had a tough time coming up with a title so I put it to a fan vote and I could have gone American Idol and tried to change the rules but because Angie and Jody both agreed I went with the fan vote of Look to the Sky. What does that title have to do with what took place on Good Day today? For 3 segments Kevin Hernandez was at the Travis AFB Air Show Thunder Over Solano. I would have loved to have gone but circumstances beyond my control said no. (Gas prices / Fix 50). The event looked so cool I hope Good Day can go back on Sunday's show.
Lori was in El Dorado Hills today looking at Gardens to Drool over which was another choice for today's title. These beautiful home gardens are on display all weekend long and just make everyone drool over. However Lori was also at FREE Comic Book Day and that had people lining up in front of Empire Comics before 6am. Former Good Day Cast Member Ashley Williams and current cast member Cambi Brown are the princesses of Elk Grove but did you know Lori Wallace is the Queen of Elk Grove and today she came down to cover the 57th Annual Western Festival. This long standing tradition is a sight to see for sure.
Tina went to Lake Washington and jumped on a boat for a tour. Though the boat tour didn't last 3 hours she still showed us the Skipper, and the Professor and all things beautiful about our town from a boat in 3 minutes which was another possible title for today "3 Minute Tour" After Tina jumped off the boat she headed to Natomas for Pluck the Duck (Just don't say that 3 times fast) This was to benefit Natomas School District.
Another school event today that was covered by Kevin was at my old High School El Camino. which is holding an ALL CLASS REUNION in June. I think this is the first time my class has had one or I never got invited to any.
Amy introduced us to a new boutique called Rire. She not only has one store but soon opening another. Also Amy got DIY tips from Michaels for Mother's Day and I have included the directions for one of the projects above.
We met him last year and tomorrow is May the 4th Be With You so why not bring Toby Philpott back to talk Star Wars and more importantly Jabba the Huts Left Arm and tongue.
I heard about this next story yesterday and could not wait to see what he was all about and as I told Cody during the show today Matthew Harral was better than advertised. WOW! This is going to sound horrible but I hope I can bring my point home. Matthew was in a horrible accident about 5 years ago that changed his life. Losing his eye now having to wear a patch he found art. Luckily for us he found art instead of the other direction he very easily could have gone down. Taking coffee and wine to paint makes his work unique and amazingly beautiful even the ship he painted for Cody was amazing. I am so glad Cody found Matthew and Matthew shared not only his art but his story as well.

Cody/Amy talked with Genny Heikka about her Book Signing for Finding Mommy Bliss
Genny Heikka is an author, speaker, and passionate mentor to moms and writers. Before having kids, she was busy climbing the corporate ladder as a manager at a global computer company. But after quitting her job to be a stay-at-home mom, she rediscovered her love for writing and set out to pursue her dream of becoming an author.
She lives in Roseville with her husband and two kids, where she balances writing with motherhood and loves both. She’s the author of Finding Mommy Bliss, as well as seven children’s books. In addition to writing regularly for parenting magazines and websites, Genny co-hosts the Part-Time Author Podcast and reviews books for the San Francisco Book Review. She previously served as the Assistant Regional Advisor for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators in North/Central California for seven years.

Anyways, today we are at a new restaurant called Yolo Gyros & Burgers Sports Bar, that promises to bring new meaning to this famous catch phrase! The reason behind the name? It’s because it is right on the Yolo County Line.

7am:
To kick off today's show the Show us yours topic was Spidey pose for the opening of Spider-Man 2 in which Cody saw. The #GDSJustCurious Topic was in which historical era would you like to visit. Tina was getting ready to set sail on a 3 hour tour... Wait what I've seen this tour before it ends badly. Stay tuned to the 8am hour for the dramatic conclusion of Tina on a Boat. Lori was in El Dorado Hills looking at gorgeous Gardens and making everyone drool over them only to realize our gardens look nothing like these beauties. Kevin was at my old High School for a Flea Market at El Camino HS. Amy and Cody talked to Toby Philpott who was Jabba the Huts left arm in Star Wars as he prepares for May the 4th Be With You.
8am:
Cody talked to Mathew Harral who makes art using coffee and Wine. He showed off his art in this hour and then created a totally new piece in the 2nd hour. Cody also talked via Skype to Suveen Mathaudhu who talked about the science behind the Captain America Shield. Amy was with Josie from Rire Boutique who has one shop on Folsom Blvd. and will soon open another on 25th and J Street. Lori continued from Garden in the Hills making us all drool more. Kevin headed to Fairfield for the Travis Air Show Thunder over Solano. and Tina's 3 hour tour was only 3 minutes so she was safe.
9am:
In this hour Kevin continued from Travis Open House. Cody slapped us hard with 3D science. Matthew created not 1 but 2 works of art with coffee. Amy talked more with Josie about Rire Boutique. Tina was in Natomas checking out the Duck Pluck event to benefit Natomas schools. Lori was showing her inner geek at Empire Comics for FREE Comic Book Day and some even lined up before 6am to get their free comic book.
10am:
In this final hour of the show today comedian Craig Shoemaker stopped by before he performs at Tommy T's Tonight. Keven continued from Travis AFB where he and some Airmen recreated a slow motion scene from Top Gun. Mariachi singer Veronica Esparza took the Good Day Stage. Tina was at YOLO Burger checking out this new restaurant. Lori was home in Elk Grove checking out the parade for the Elk Grove Western Festival. Melissa shared her Hot Headlines including Ben Affleck getting kicked out of a casino for counting card.
Final Thoughts:
Today I had a tough time coming up with a title so I put it to a fan vote and I could have gone American Idol and tried to change the rules but because Angie and Jody both agreed I went with the fan vote of Look to the Sky. What does that title have to do with what took place on Good Day today? For 3 segments Kevin Hernandez was at the Travis AFB Air Show Thunder Over Solano. I would have loved to have gone but circumstances beyond my control said no. (Gas prices / Fix 50). The event looked so cool I hope Good Day can go back on Sunday's show.
Lori was in El Dorado Hills today looking at Gardens to Drool over which was another choice for today's title. These beautiful home gardens are on display all weekend long and just make everyone drool over. However Lori was also at FREE Comic Book Day and that had people lining up in front of Empire Comics before 6am. Former Good Day Cast Member Ashley Williams and current cast member Cambi Brown are the princesses of Elk Grove but did you know Lori Wallace is the Queen of Elk Grove and today she came down to cover the 57th Annual Western Festival. This long standing tradition is a sight to see for sure.
Tina went to Lake Washington and jumped on a boat for a tour. Though the boat tour didn't last 3 hours she still showed us the Skipper, and the Professor and all things beautiful about our town from a boat in 3 minutes which was another possible title for today "3 Minute Tour" After Tina jumped off the boat she headed to Natomas for Pluck the Duck (Just don't say that 3 times fast) This was to benefit Natomas School District.
Another school event today that was covered by Kevin was at my old High School El Camino. which is holding an ALL CLASS REUNION in June. I think this is the first time my class has had one or I never got invited to any.
Amy introduced us to a new boutique called Rire. She not only has one store but soon opening another. Also Amy got DIY tips from Michaels for Mother's Day and I have included the directions for one of the projects above.
We met him last year and tomorrow is May the 4th Be With You so why not bring Toby Philpott back to talk Star Wars and more importantly Jabba the Huts Left Arm and tongue.
I heard about this next story yesterday and could not wait to see what he was all about and as I told Cody during the show today Matthew Harral was better than advertised. WOW! This is going to sound horrible but I hope I can bring my point home. Matthew was in a horrible accident about 5 years ago that changed his life. Losing his eye now having to wear a patch he found art. Luckily for us he found art instead of the other direction he very easily could have gone down. Taking coffee and wine to paint makes his work unique and amazingly beautiful even the ship he painted for Cody was amazing. I am so glad Cody found Matthew and Matthew shared not only his art but his story as well.
