As you know one of the things I love about doing Today in the News is keeping everyone updated of all the goings on for the 3 morning shows. You also know that I get no help from My58 so knowing anything about what they will be talking about is not very good however with Fox40 and Good Day I can sometimes get help whether it be through trends, commercials, Topic of conversations, Facebook/Twitter post and of course on Good Day Show Info and the backing from them on Today in the News. blog.
Thursday on Fox for the time being they have Idol Chatter with Paul and MoJoe which means I watch American Idol on Wednesday's so that I can have my opinion on what the 2 talk about on Thursday. I will give my full review of the show tomorrow in Final Thought but I felt Caleb had the BEST performance of the night on his last performance of the night.
On Good Day it's always GREAT for Thursday because Gina from Thrift Town is in showing off her GREAT ideas for DIY Projects. In addition to today being the Good Day Swim Party in the 9am hour.
So much to cover in so little time so let's see what else is taking place Today in the News.....

Oh yeah he forgot to pay for them and they believed it. Cal Trans is honoring their own fallen workers that have been lost on the job at the State Capital today.
Good Day Sacramento:
Kicking off today's show Ken had a Seinfeld inspired promotion for the Brooklyn Cyclones. Marianne showed Amal's Engagement Ring and perhaps one of the funniest things you could see Cody showed a KTLA reporter getting asked out with a man with no shirt holding a dog live on air all in today's Show and Tell. The duo 5am Club Members were introduced. Mark had News of the Weird. Today's Question of the Day was What State did you report on in Elementary School. Ken shared a story of a local man who hit the longest home run in baseball history. Playing for the Sacramento Solons Neil Sheridan hit a home run 613 feet making him Sensational Senior.
In this hour Julissa was checking out Too Much Stuff in Auburn who has so many things to offer in their shop for gifts you can't possibly leave without finding something and they are celebrating 1 year. Melissa was in Elk Grove talking to one local singer who's song is in the Top 20 on the Billboard Chart. Marianne had a Burrito eating hamster in Daily Joe and during a commercial break if anyone was watching online Ken and Mark gave a rockin performance and Courtney "checked out" with her Bar code outfit
The 7am hour hit the High note when Starling Glow took the Sing Inc Stage in Elk Grove to perform their hit single for Melissa and all of us. Julissa was getting ways to stay cool from our favorite Mama momtourage Amanda Reinhardt. Ken talked to news legend Dan Rather about his new special airing on May 6 on Axis TV.
In this hour Melissa went to Sheldon High School to check out cool art on shoes from 4 students that designed vans. Tina was getting cooking tips from Amalia’s Cocina. A couple of weeks ago Mark introduced us to Aaron, a Carmichael 4th grader who needs a new van for his family and has no arms or legs well today he took over Mark's Little Talk Show with his friends. Teen's Tunes was played with Disco theme. Lori was getting Ducky as Stockton prepares for the Duck Drop to benefit Child Abuse. The drop is May 31'st. The #9amtopic was introduced. Today's topic What are you looking forward to this summer.
in the final hour of the day Melissa was checking out the launch of Niki Panda Nation. Courtney and friends modeled Swim 4 You Swimwear. Tina went back to middle school to kick off the start of the new upgrade of the MP Room at Arden Middle School that will be ready in 2015. Mark continued from Aaron's Talk Show. Instead of the Manly Minute Ken talked about the Sensational Senior who has the longest home run in baseball history. Julissa and Laura took us through today's #9amtopic while sitting out at the Pool for the Good Day Pool Party. Today is Thursday so that means Gina from Thrift Town was showing how to decorate our Pool Party/Outside Tables with GREAT DIY Cake Stand suggestions. The final question of the day was What do you remember from Middle School
Keeping with the theme of today My58 previewed the I Heart Radio Awards that will be airing on NBC tonight at 8pm. I may watch it for a bit but I am not up on new music so I don't know if I will enjoy it as much but it's something on.
This week on American Idol the top 5 performed Viewer picks. I have to tell you that for me I thought most of the picks that they sang where awful but as much as it pains me to say it Say Something for Alex was pretty good only because of the backup singer that helped him through the song. It's hard for 1 person to sing a 2 person song but Alex did a nice job with it. However, Alex is still no Caleb Johnson. Caleb had the over done Aerosmith Song Don't want to Close my Eyes. Caleb did okay with it but any Steven Tyler song is tough because he has such a unique voice. But the BEST song and performance of the night for me was Caleb singing Still of the Night by Whitesnake. David Coverdale would be proud because not only did Caleb sound GREAT but has that type of voice that can sing that song the way it should be. LOUD!!! I thought the 2 girls Jena and Jessica did well and Jena should be safe. Jessica should be as well but I think she will find herself in the bottom 2 with Sam who really needs to go and for the Idol judges, producers and everyone in between I see what you are doing and you need to stop. Since Sam's Save they have been pimping him out making sure to get the girl votes. If Sam wins this show it will be fixed. He will sell as many records as Reuben Studdard (Not many) You have 2 GREAT singers who deserve the win and they are not named Sam or Alex However Ariana Grande last night looked SUPER cute delivering the Mic.
Today on Good Day it always starts off with a bang and today's Show&tell was one for the time machine. Marianne showed the huge rock George Clooney gave to girlfriend Amal. If you watched Seinfeld then you are familiar with all the NY Mets being Jerry's favorite team so it only makes sense that their Triple A team has a night honoring all things Seinfeld as Ken talked about in his Show&tell portion but it was Cody who won the segment when a KTLA reporter covering a fire was asked out on live TV from a man with no shirt holding a dog.
Temps are heating up for a couple of days in early May so its time to think about pool parties, graduation parties my birthday in the middle of May (14) and of course Memorial Day. So today on Good Day Sacramento Marianne talked about sales to look for this month, Julissa was getting ideas from Amanda aka mama momtourage for ways to keep cool. Plus it's Thursday so that meant Gina from Thrift Town with great DIY table setting projects. Not only did we learn how to do but Courtney and 2 friends modeled new swimsuits from Fit4You for this year. Plus the entire 9am hour took place pool side at the Good Day Sacramento studio with Laura and Julissa.
With it being Thursday Eve it's never too early to party which is what Ken, Mark and Laura all did today.
We tease Courtney about her Barcode outfit but honestly Courtney is priceless plus she is bringing the FIRST Good Day Sacramento Pancake Challenge on May 16. Gotta love that.
One of my favorite segments that doesn't always get covered but when it does is covered well by Ken and his Sensational Seniors. Today Ken talked about Neil Sheridan who hit the longest home run in baseball history, I always thought it was Babe Ruth but that is not correct. Neil hit his 13 feet longer for the then Sacramento Solons making it 613 feet. I really enjoy this story of this Sensational Senior.
Mark took his Little Talk Show to Carmichael to revisit our 4th grader Aaron who is trying to get a new van for his family and Mark said it and I will too. This kid is awesome. If Mark didn't drive the point home PLEASE VOTE FOR AARON!!! He may be a kid in age but an adult in heart and mind. So if you have 10 seconds to spare and we all do take that time and VOTE AARON!!!
Much to come on a Fun Friday so I will cover Fox40 and Good Day Sacramento only. What's ahead for Good Day Sacramento tomorrow as far as I know....
