I'm A Survivor.... Today in the News 4/29/2014: 
Opening Statement:
I had a completely different opening written but after hearing news today that didn't seem as important as "Life" in general. We take a lot of things for granted but we as Cinderella (The Band) states We don't know what we got til it's gone. Which is the case of "Life" We have our remotes to change to our favorite shows, we have our cars to get us from point A to B. We have our phones to connect with friends and family and keep us updated on news but when we lose someone we think about them. Today we didn't lose anyone but we get to celebrate "Life" with someone we could have lost but instead we celebrate 5 years of new "Life" with them. So in Final Thoughts look for a complete story with comment.

Leading off. Courtney taught her daughter to ride her bike, Ken's Son Malcolm sang and Marianne showed a Santa Clara couple recreating the "Up" house upsetting neighbors in today's Show and Tell. Marianne's Daily List talked about ways to use egg shells. The 5am Club Member was introduced. Today's Question of the day was What are you happiest about right now and Tina revealed it is her 5 year mark for being Breast Cancer free. (More in Final Thought). Show us yours today was Zipper.
6am:
Mark was at Sacto Chicken Co talking to Jim Doucette about a Tropical Affair with celebrity emcee's Courtney and Mark in June. Amy was in Folsom checking out a Pizza Cake from Skipolini's Pizza. Marianne's Daily Joe talked about a pen that plays guitar.
7am:
In this hour we got a triple shot of dancing. First Mark continued from Sacto Chicken Co talking about A Tropical Affair that had kids dancing. In Studio Ken introduced Aloha Polynesian as they performed and then they taught Courtney, Ken and Tina how to dance. Amy showed the finish project of the Pizza Cake and this weekend Skipolini's will be back making a Cheeseburger Pizza.
8am:
In this hour Cambi took her dog Polly Pocket to an Elk Grove Dog Park to try out the Whistle app that measures how much your dog exercises. Mark had some entertainment news talking The Other Woman. Julie Upton was in house talking to Marianne about diet tips for swim season. Teen's Tunes was played and Rachel and Travis from the Doctors joined to talk about their 1000's show. Tina shared her Survivor story The #9amtopic was introduced. Today's Topic was I never realized how much I rely on.
9am:
In this hour Julissa, Laura and Mark took us through today's 9amtopic as well as getting answers from Craig Ashton all legal issues that could come up for NBA and Clippers. Mark had some entertainment news and talked to Todd and Nina from Now 100.5 about a trip to Atlantis. Courtney was getting into the yard work in woodland checking out tractors. Ken's Manly Minute today talked about cars that looked good but ran awful including the Delorean. Cambi continued checking on Polly Pocket's exercise with the Whistle App. The final question of the day was How do you pamper yourself.
Final Thoughts:
With Graduations coming in just a couple of weeks many studies will start to come out and today on My58 they said Graduation rates are up 80%.
Fox40 had Cancer Survivor Pam Braun on in the kitchen cooking up Anti Cancer Causing recipes from her cookbook. This was perfect because May is Breast Cancer Awareness with the Susan G. Koman run at Cal Expo and because of a story I want to share with all of you from my Opening. Statement.
Life has so many obstacles and you never know when it will throw you a curveball but when it does you must respond and respond quickly which is the case of 5 years ago. During a routine check Tina Macuha was told she had breast cancer but luckily it was found in time. You may also remember Shawn L Brown also had it and because of their status they have a voice to reach 1000's and that is what they did. Because they are allowed to go to the airways they can warn others who may not think about it or may be on the fence to get checked, find out if you have it. (Forgive me for sounding like a male) Breasts are a wonderful thing and a very important part of a woman and a woman's body. As Tina says, as Shawn says as Doctors say and I say to ALL WOMAN PLEASE GET CHECKED. We still have Tina and Shawn as well as Pam Braun, my sister and countless others who have survived this awful disease of Breast Cancer and I don't want to lose them or anyone else. So Please read Tina's message and watch the video of her talking about it today followed by my response to Tina and get tested please.
A Message from Tina Macuha and my response to her...
5 years ago… I had this nervous butterfly-in-my-stomach feeling. Anxious. It was such an emotional time in my life. I was about to have a double mastectomy because I was diagnosed with breast cancer – stage 0 DCIS. My mom died of breast cancer in 1983. She was with me though that day in spirit. I kept telling myself that everything will be okay. Stay strong. Breathe. My life would change forever. I was surrounded in love from my family, my friends, and the community. Breathe. Relax. What if… shhh. Think positive things. My mind is always busy and I did my best to focus and go through the process. I felt the love and positive energy coming my way. I appreciated it and always will. I am so happy to be here. I love to smile, laugh, hug, love. I’m so grateful for my family. I’m grateful for my friends who are like family to me. I’m thankful I’ve met so many wonderful people through this journey. My friendships have deepened. My life has become richer. I’m honored to help others by sharing my story. Was it meant to be? Yes. 5 years is one of those milestones for us warriors. Raise your glasses or put your fists in the air… 1, 2, 3… TO LIFE! And so it is.

Today on Fox40 they talked about Pickling and Pet Flatulence though a somewhat funny topic it is also a very serious one. The pickling was interesting because of all the natural preservatives you get from it.

Leading off. Courtney taught her daughter to ride her bike, Ken's Son Malcolm sang and Marianne showed a Santa Clara couple recreating the "Up" house upsetting neighbors in today's Show and Tell. Marianne's Daily List talked about ways to use egg shells. The 5am Club Member was introduced. Today's Question of the day was What are you happiest about right now and Tina revealed it is her 5 year mark for being Breast Cancer free. (More in Final Thought). Show us yours today was Zipper.
6am:
Mark was at Sacto Chicken Co talking to Jim Doucette about a Tropical Affair with celebrity emcee's Courtney and Mark in June. Amy was in Folsom checking out a Pizza Cake from Skipolini's Pizza. Marianne's Daily Joe talked about a pen that plays guitar.
7am:
In this hour we got a triple shot of dancing. First Mark continued from Sacto Chicken Co talking about A Tropical Affair that had kids dancing. In Studio Ken introduced Aloha Polynesian as they performed and then they taught Courtney, Ken and Tina how to dance. Amy showed the finish project of the Pizza Cake and this weekend Skipolini's will be back making a Cheeseburger Pizza.
8am:
In this hour Cambi took her dog Polly Pocket to an Elk Grove Dog Park to try out the Whistle app that measures how much your dog exercises. Mark had some entertainment news talking The Other Woman. Julie Upton was in house talking to Marianne about diet tips for swim season. Teen's Tunes was played and Rachel and Travis from the Doctors joined to talk about their 1000's show. Tina shared her Survivor story The #9amtopic was introduced. Today's Topic was I never realized how much I rely on.
9am:
In this hour Julissa, Laura and Mark took us through today's 9amtopic as well as getting answers from Craig Ashton all legal issues that could come up for NBA and Clippers. Mark had some entertainment news and talked to Todd and Nina from Now 100.5 about a trip to Atlantis. Courtney was getting into the yard work in woodland checking out tractors. Ken's Manly Minute today talked about cars that looked good but ran awful including the Delorean. Cambi continued checking on Polly Pocket's exercise with the Whistle App. The final question of the day was How do you pamper yourself.
Final Thoughts:
With Graduations coming in just a couple of weeks many studies will start to come out and today on My58 they said Graduation rates are up 80%.
Fox40 had Cancer Survivor Pam Braun on in the kitchen cooking up Anti Cancer Causing recipes from her cookbook. This was perfect because May is Breast Cancer Awareness with the Susan G. Koman run at Cal Expo and because of a story I want to share with all of you from my Opening. Statement.
Life has so many obstacles and you never know when it will throw you a curveball but when it does you must respond and respond quickly which is the case of 5 years ago. During a routine check Tina Macuha was told she had breast cancer but luckily it was found in time. You may also remember Shawn L Brown also had it and because of their status they have a voice to reach 1000's and that is what they did. Because they are allowed to go to the airways they can warn others who may not think about it or may be on the fence to get checked, find out if you have it. (Forgive me for sounding like a male) Breasts are a wonderful thing and a very important part of a woman and a woman's body. As Tina says, as Shawn says as Doctors say and I say to ALL WOMAN PLEASE GET CHECKED. We still have Tina and Shawn as well as Pam Braun, my sister and countless others who have survived this awful disease of Breast Cancer and I don't want to lose them or anyone else. A Message from Tina Macuha and my response to her...
5 years ago… I had this nervous butterfly-in-my-stomach feeling. Anxious. It was such an emotional time in my life. I was about to have a double mastectomy because I was diagnosed with breast cancer – stage 0 DCIS. My mom died of breast cancer in 1983. She was with me though that day in spirit. I kept telling myself that everything will be okay. Stay strong. Breathe. My life would change forever. I was surrounded in love from my family, my friends, and the community. Breathe. Relax. What if… shhh. Think positive things. My mind is always busy and I did my best to focus and go through the process. I felt the love and positive energy coming my way. I appreciated it and always will. I am so happy to be here. I love to smile, laugh, hug, love. I’m so grateful for my family. I’m grateful for my friends who are like family to me. I’m thankful I’ve met so many wonderful people through this journey. My friendships have deepened. My life has become richer. I’m honored to help others by sharing my story. Was it meant to be? Yes. 5 years is one of those milestones for us warriors. Raise your glasses or put your fists in the air… 1, 2, 3… TO LIFE! And so it is.
