NFL Wildcard Playoffs:
Saturday we saw 2 amazing games in the first installment of the NFL Wildcard Games. The Colts battled from 28 down to shock the KC Chiefs 45-44. This was the second most comeback in NFL Playoff history behind Buffalo Bills vs Houston Oilers 32 point comeback by the Bills in 1993. The other game billed as the game of Offense saw the New Orleans Saints who can't win on the road in the cold defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 26-24.
Final Thoughts:
Before getting to what took place on the show today the Official # for the BCS Championship game Monday night is... #BCSCody Cody should still be there but things didn't work out so now we break twitter. Now on to today's show....
With the game between San Francisco vs. Green Bay today the Show us your.. was asking for team colors for who you want to win the game today. Surprisingly the Packers were well represented but we are in 49'er country and it is clear who people went to win in this area. The #justcurious topic today was what movie(s) you are dying to see this year.
In the 7am hour it was full of fun. Nina who was thought to be back today was not. More on that when I find out if she was ill or just not scheduled as originally thought. So with that Kevin went to Farrell's Ice Cream to create a unique pasta dish that celebrated yesterday and whip cream that celebrates today... One word comes to mind when seeing this and spoiler alert that word is not "Good". Melissa was checking out Sacramento Sweet Shop in Old Sacramento. This is a MUST GO when in the area. Neda was back today and she was checking out yet another truck tracker proving that your idea's sent to the show works. Today she was checking out Duke the cat who weighs 20 lbs. WOW!!!! Cody talked to Stan Hays of Operation BBQ Relief. This is a group that goes in after storms and donates BBQ to the workers cleaning up and those who may have lost their homes. This was such a GREAT story. Please be sure to check out their website.
In the 8am hour Cody and Amy talked to Sushi. Sushi is the featured entertainment in Key West, FL when they drop her (Drag Queen) in a big shoe as the clock strikes Midnight on New Years. Neda went to Estate Sale where prices on items where being slashed. Kevin ate his pasta whip cream creation from Farrell's and nope that word that best describes this is still not "Good". Melissa continued getting her sweet tooth fix at Sacramento Sweet Co. and Cody got his hair cut. Okay, so now I think I have a better understand of what Nelson does, By the way he has been doing this for 25 years. Nelson has all these boxes around him with buzzers, and clippers attached. Each one with his movements make a different sound. The part that freaks me out is the tape over the eyes and around you. With that said Cody's hair looked really good. Jason provided us with Truck Tracker updates and updated his wall of fame.
In the 9am hour just get your tissue out now.... I'll wait..... Okay here we go. The GREAT Band Rey y Kaye took the Good Day Sacramento stage for 2 songs. Amy got tips and tricks to get rid of Skunks and their smell from Dukes Wildlife Control and then Amy and Cody let a skunk spray toward them. Okay well Amy was in the parking lot and Cody and Duke got behind the plastic tarp to experience the lovely smell. Kevin was learning to play hockey for kids just beginning in Roseville. Staying on the sports theme our favorite Sports Puppet Mort the Sport came into to assist Cody with Just Enough Sports. Mort is a GREAT guy. He is always teaching kids the art of Good Sportsmanship. Okay remember I said get those tissues ready? If the skunk didn't make you cry the next 3 might make you a little teary eye. First a WONDERFUL viewer Kimm Price Springer stopped by the studio to drop off a wonderful gift for Cody. Cody is not able to attend the BCS game Monday featuring Auburn taking on Florida State and because of that Kimm made Cody a tailgate type gift basket complete with fake tickets. This was so nice and so well done it made me think how GREAT Good Day Sacramento viewers are and how GREAT Cody is not only as a broadcaster but as a person as well. Cody has such a following the thought of ever losing him would be devastating. The next story for the tissue is the message told to Melissa by Dr. Kim Clarity who brought the Burning Bowl to share with us. What she did during the course of the segment really puts things in perspective and it's okay to let things go. I realize that the burning of the paper is more symbolic but it's the message and how she makes you think. Finally Neda brought us the story of Good People doing Good Things. 3 Amazing kids with help of a few fund raisers including selling Rainbow bracelets raised $12,000 to help their schools janitor who was diagnosed with cancer. Beautiful job kids.
Now that we had our cry we can return to laughter for the 10am hour. Continuing with Neda with the kids who did a GREAT thing they are now on the receiving end with a special play date at Boomers in Modesto all to themselves. Kevin continued to play hockey as the goalie. Lori had our Hot Headlines. Rey y Kaye played another song before taking the Soft Kitty Challenge. Jason gave a final update on Truck Tracker assignments. Cody and Amy took a Whip Cream challenge and Cody had the highest tower of whip cream in their mouth. Finally the BEST for last in the 10am hour. Melissa was going to be talking to Mira Sorvino but for reason I cannot confirm that segment was cancelled so Melissa went to the Good Day Sacramento Watering hole... Mecca Club and that is where the entertainment started. Melissa with permission from the owner got on the bar and danced us into Monday. I think she made about $20 also. It was a fun time. Love Melissa's spirit.
Finally one of the funniest segments today was Good Day Sacramento calling people on the East Coast and in the Midwest asking how cold it was and then telling them how nice it was here. To be fair each person called new the joke and therefor played right along including hanging up on Good Day Sacramento.. So funny.

Saturday we saw 2 amazing games in the first installment of the NFL Wildcard Games. The Colts battled from 28 down to shock the KC Chiefs 45-44. This was the second most comeback in NFL Playoff history behind Buffalo Bills vs Houston Oilers 32 point comeback by the Bills in 1993. The other game billed as the game of Offense saw the New Orleans Saints who can't win on the road in the cold defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 26-24.
Final Thoughts:
Before getting to what took place on the show today the Official # for the BCS Championship game Monday night is... #BCSCody Cody should still be there but things didn't work out so now we break twitter. Now on to today's show....
With the game between San Francisco vs. Green Bay today the Show us your.. was asking for team colors for who you want to win the game today. Surprisingly the Packers were well represented but we are in 49'er country and it is clear who people went to win in this area. The #justcurious topic today was what movie(s) you are dying to see this year.
In the 7am hour it was full of fun. Nina who was thought to be back today was not. More on that when I find out if she was ill or just not scheduled as originally thought. So with that Kevin went to Farrell's Ice Cream to create a unique pasta dish that celebrated yesterday and whip cream that celebrates today... One word comes to mind when seeing this and spoiler alert that word is not "Good". Melissa was checking out Sacramento Sweet Shop in Old Sacramento. This is a MUST GO when in the area. Neda was back today and she was checking out yet another truck tracker proving that your idea's sent to the show works. Today she was checking out Duke the cat who weighs 20 lbs. WOW!!!! Cody talked to Stan Hays of Operation BBQ Relief. This is a group that goes in after storms and donates BBQ to the workers cleaning up and those who may have lost their homes. In the 8am hour Cody and Amy talked to Sushi. Sushi is the featured entertainment in Key West, FL when they drop her (Drag Queen) in a big shoe as the clock strikes Midnight on New Years. Neda went to Estate Sale where prices on items where being slashed. Kevin ate his pasta whip cream creation from Farrell's and nope that word that best describes this is still not "Good". Melissa continued getting her sweet tooth fix at Sacramento Sweet Co. and Cody got his hair cut. Okay, so now I think I have a better understand of what Nelson does, By the way he has been doing this for 25 years. Nelson has all these boxes around him with buzzers, and clippers attached. Each one with his movements make a different sound. The part that freaks me out is the tape over the eyes and around you. With that said Cody's hair looked really good. Jason provided us with Truck Tracker updates and updated his wall of fame.
In the 9am hour just get your tissue out now.... I'll wait..... Okay here we go. The GREAT Band Rey y Kaye took the Good Day Sacramento stage for 2 songs. Amy got tips and tricks to get rid of Skunks and their smell from Dukes Wildlife Control and then Amy and Cody let a skunk spray toward them. Okay well Amy was in the parking lot and Cody and Duke got behind the plastic tarp to experience the lovely smell. Kevin was learning to play hockey for kids just beginning in Roseville. Staying on the sports theme our favorite Sports Puppet Mort the Sport came into to assist Cody with Just Enough Sports. Mort is a GREAT guy. He is always teaching kids the art of Good Sportsmanship. Okay remember I said get those tissues ready? If the skunk didn't make you cry the next 3 might make you a little teary eye. First a WONDERFUL viewer Kimm Price Springer stopped by the studio to drop off a wonderful gift for Cody. Cody is not able to attend the BCS game Monday featuring Auburn taking on Florida State and because of that Kimm made Cody a tailgate type gift basket complete with fake tickets. This was so nice and so well done it made me think how GREAT Good Day Sacramento viewers are and how GREAT Cody is not only as a broadcaster but as a person as well. Cody has such a following the thought of ever losing him would be devastating. The next story for the tissue is the message told to Melissa by Dr. Kim Clarity who brought the Burning Bowl to share with us. What she did during the course of the segment really puts things in perspective and it's okay to let things go. I realize that the burning of the paper is more symbolic but it's the message and how she makes you think. Finally Neda brought us the story of Good People doing Good Things. 3 Amazing kids with help of a few fund raisers including selling Rainbow bracelets raised $12,000 to help their schools janitor who was diagnosed with cancer. Beautiful job kids.
Now that we had our cry we can return to laughter for the 10am hour. Continuing with Neda with the kids who did a GREAT thing they are now on the receiving end with a special play date at Boomers in Modesto all to themselves. Kevin continued to play hockey as the goalie. Lori had our Hot Headlines. Rey y Kaye played another song before taking the Soft Kitty Challenge. Jason gave a final update on Truck Tracker assignments. Cody and Amy took a Whip Cream challenge and Cody had the highest tower of whip cream in their mouth. Finally the BEST for last in the 10am hour. Melissa was going to be talking to Mira Sorvino but for reason I cannot confirm that segment was cancelled so Melissa went to the Good Day Sacramento Watering hole... Mecca Club and that is where the entertainment started. Melissa with permission from the owner got on the bar and danced us into Monday. I think she made about $20 also. It was a fun time. Love Melissa's spirit.
Finally one of the funniest segments today was Good Day Sacramento calling people on the East Coast and in the Midwest asking how cold it was and then telling them how nice it was here. To be fair each person called new the joke and therefor played right along including hanging up on Good Day Sacramento.. So funny.
