Normally I don't talk about myself but today please allow me to take this portion of Today in the News to reflect back and to wish my BEST FRIEND in the WORLD a very happy birthday. Flashback with me to Tachikawa Japan in 1972. It was January 27, 1972, The top movie on the Box Office chart that year was The Godfather, The top TV show All in the Family and the top song Roberta Flack, "The first time ever I saw your face" a beautiful angel was born. Yes Christina this is your life as today we celebrate you. Flash forward to Sacramento, CA February 28 2003 as Roberta Flack said in 1972 The first time ever I saw your face, would be the day my life changed for good. As I stood on the other side of the room before you started walking toward me. Nerves getting to me I look down only to look up and you are standing right in front me what do I do? What do I say not hello but "Are you Asian"? Yes, Yes you are.
Flash forward to 1/27/2014, nearly 11 years ago I found everything I was looking for my entire life. I found a dream come true. I found inspiration and I found you. I am so happy that today I can wish you the most loving birthday you've ever gotten. Christy, you are my best friend, you are my everything. I would not change one thing about our friendship, well okay 1.... I wish we could live next door to each other but other than that... nothing. Christy, Please take this day and make it the happiest, healthiest most beautiful day ever. May it be filled with love, happiness and full of cash. I love you and will always love you. You will always be My Angel Princess that Flies Without Wings.

This year’s event features men and women who have lost weight in the months following their gastric bypass, vertical sleeve gastrectomy or laparoscopic band operations. Models will share brief personal stories and photos from their battles with extreme weight and then walk the runway in the latest fashions from local clothing stores.
Proceeds benefit the UC Davis Bariatric Surgery Program.

Quick Thoughts:
Today's shows were very Post Grammy heavy. Each show had their own twist to the award show last night. However My58 was very Sochi heavy and Fox40 was Super Bowl heavy, Good Day Sacramento was extremely Grammy heavy. But the shows did pretty well covering other stories including a very special one of friend helping a friend. Below is a complete recap of each show....

My58:
The Olympics starting in just over a week now Sochi talk will be ramped up on My58 and today they talked to Snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler who announced her retirement following the games. They also talked Grammy's from last night. Finally they gave different ways to use bubble wrap. I'm not so sure I want to use it in a sleeping bag. It would feel like shots are being fired when it pops as you sleep.
Fox40:
Ladies Day on Fox 40 saw Sabrina, Kristine and Bethany in studio today and the ladies brought it as they talked about the Grammy's, Super Bowl Ads then and now, STOP trying to take city to court over arena. Pet Grooming tips and Old Soul was making breakfast sandwiches in the Fox40 Kitchen. Plus their Monday staple KAIA Fit for Motivational Monday.
Good Day Sacramento:
430/5am:
The Show and Tell featured Ken talking about his son, Malcolm who turned 3 and had his birthday party over the weekend. The 5am hour had the normal staples of Marianne's Daily List. 5am Club Member of the Day, and Question of the day. It also had the Show us your... Singing Selfies pictures.
6am:
In this hour the show got kicked off with reporter involvment. Mark was reporting from a local truck stop getting Grammy Reaction from the truckers. Weird none of them watched the show. Keeping with the Grammy theme OMG Insiders talked to Ken and Marianne about the show. Melissa was trying out a new belt for working out, the flip belt helps keep everything in place. Amy was was talking with Marlene Simon about watering plants during the drought.
7am:
Highlighting this hour was Amy learning about Mulch from our Resident Plant Lady, Marlene Simon. Mark continued from the Silver Skillet getting Grammy reaction and Marianne and Ken talked to a local Manteca company, Cromer Material Handling who is giving back to the Susan B. Koman Foundation by painting their equipment pink and donating for every piece sold.
8am:
The #9amtopic was introduced and Courtney was our DJ for Courts Tunes. Mark, Ken, and Marianne talked to Managing Editor of Advertising Age about Super Bowl ads Past and Present. Mark had a complete recap of the Grammy's and Amy was getting a full body workout at Rocknasium in Davis. But it was the story of CJ Duxbury and Donna. CJ is a high school friend who lost contact with Donna but reconnected with her via Facebook and is now helping her get a new kidney by donating his. This was such a beautiful story I actually cried.
9am:
In the final hour we had 3 guiding us through the hour with Mark, Julissa, and Laura. This hour had more Grammy wrap up and Courtney and crew in a game of Grammy Fashion Pass or fail. Amy climbed the wall at Rocknasium in Davis getting a full body workout and Melissa was checking out The Red Chair, an Antique store in Auburn. Ken's Manly Minute was about jobs you can do from home. One that caught my attention was Freelance writing from home.
Final Thoughts:
With appoliges to the other stations the story of the day was CJ surprising Donna with his Kidney. Regardless of what could have happened on the other station Good Day Sacramento having this story brought tears to my eyes.
I did enjoy the story of Bubble Wrap on My58 without the wrap in a sleeping bag, just don't think that is such a good idea.
Though I can no longer eat bread the breakfast from Old Soul on Fox40 today looked really good.

Quick Thoughts:
Today's shows were very Post Grammy heavy. Each show had their own twist to the award show last night. However My58 was very Sochi heavy and Fox40 was Super Bowl heavy, Good Day Sacramento was extremely Grammy heavy. But the shows did pretty well covering other stories including a very special one of friend helping a friend. Below is a complete recap of each show....

My58:
The Olympics starting in just over a week now Sochi talk will be ramped up on My58 and today they talked to Snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler who announced her retirement following the games. They also talked Grammy's from last night. Finally they gave different ways to use bubble wrap. I'm not so sure I want to use it in a sleeping bag. It would feel like shots are being fired when it pops as you sleep.
Fox40:
Ladies Day on Fox 40 saw Sabrina, Kristine and Bethany in studio today and the ladies brought it as they talked about the Grammy's, Super Bowl Ads then and now, STOP trying to take city to court over arena. Pet Grooming tips and Old Soul was making breakfast sandwiches in the Fox40 Kitchen. Plus their Monday staple KAIA Fit for Motivational Monday.
Good Day Sacramento:
430/5am:
The Show and Tell featured Ken talking about his son, Malcolm who turned 3 and had his birthday party over the weekend. The 5am hour had the normal staples of Marianne's Daily List. 5am Club Member of the Day, and Question of the day. It also had the Show us your... Singing Selfies pictures.
6am:
In this hour the show got kicked off with reporter involvment. Mark was reporting from a local truck stop getting Grammy Reaction from the truckers. Weird none of them watched the show. Keeping with the Grammy theme OMG Insiders talked to Ken and Marianne about the show. Melissa was trying out a new belt for working out, the flip belt helps keep everything in place. Amy was was talking with Marlene Simon about watering plants during the drought.
7am:
Highlighting this hour was Amy learning about Mulch from our Resident Plant Lady, Marlene Simon. Mark continued from the Silver Skillet getting Grammy reaction and Marianne and Ken talked to a local Manteca company, Cromer Material Handling who is giving back to the Susan B. Koman Foundation by painting their equipment pink and donating for every piece sold.
8am:
The #9amtopic was introduced and Courtney was our DJ for Courts Tunes. Mark, Ken, and Marianne talked to Managing Editor of Advertising Age about Super Bowl ads Past and Present. Mark had a complete recap of the Grammy's and Amy was getting a full body workout at Rocknasium in Davis. But it was the story of CJ Duxbury and Donna. CJ is a high school friend who lost contact with Donna but reconnected with her via Facebook and is now helping her get a new kidney by donating his. This was such a beautiful story I actually cried.
9am:
In the final hour we had 3 guiding us through the hour with Mark, Julissa, and Laura. This hour had more Grammy wrap up and Courtney and crew in a game of Grammy Fashion Pass or fail. Amy climbed the wall at Rocknasium in Davis getting a full body workout and Melissa was checking out The Red Chair, an Antique store in Auburn. Ken's Manly Minute was about jobs you can do from home. One that caught my attention was Freelance writing from home.
Final Thoughts:
With appoliges to the other stations the story of the day was CJ surprising Donna with his Kidney. Regardless of what could have happened on the other station Good Day Sacramento having this story brought tears to my eyes.
I did enjoy the story of Bubble Wrap on My58 without the wrap in a sleeping bag, just don't think that is such a good idea.
Though I can no longer eat bread the breakfast from Old Soul on Fox40 today looked really good.
