Challenge... Today in the News 1/7/2014:
Opening Statement:
We have reached the end of the College Football Season when Florida State took on the Auburn Tigers in the BCS Championship game in Pasadena, CA. As you know we tried very hard to get Cody Stark to the game but fell short in our efforts. Because of Cody being unable to attend we tweeted about it under the #BCSCody. The game itself was really a tail of 2 halves with Auburn taking the first half leading 21-10 at Halftime. Just after the start of the 3rd quarter Cody was placed in Twitter time out again for reaching the daily Twitter limit. Normally a 30 minute time out this time it was nearly an hour or longer. In that time Florida State dominated the game. Auburn only got 10 points in the second half and they ultimately fell 34-31 to Florida State. Auburn had a GREAT season and really turned around their season from a year ago. Florida States Jameis Winston is the real deal and I hope he keeps his head on straight because he has a bright future ahead. Before getting to the show recap I just want to say Thank you to Cody Stark and all of you in the Cody Army that made watching the BCS Game that more fun. Today they talked about all the new tech toys coming out and the C.E.S. in Vegas and then the day went straight down the drain with the story of flushable wipes. I really had no idea it was that big of an issue.
Fox40:
Today seemed to be a food day on Fox40 with Celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver will be bringing his “Big Rig Mobile Kitchen Classroom” to Sacramento on Tuesday. Chef Julian from Delta King in the Fox40 Kitchen talking about the Dine Downtown.
Sabrina showed us how to store our holiday decorations... Who knew so many storage products existed.
Good Day Sacramento:
In the 430 today's Show and tell Ken talked about the Play calling boards Auburn Tigers use with Kim K, Ron Burgundy and others on it. Courtney gave an update on the Blessing Bags she showed yesterday and how many responses she got from it with different ideas.
In the 5am hour We had our normal staples of #Questionoftheday, Marianne's Daily List, Mark's News of the Weird, and of course the 5am Club Member and the Show us yours... was introduced being Show us your Tech Toys.
In the 6am staying with the Show us theme Mark S. Allen showed his cool new gadget of lenses for his IPhone. These are so cool. Also Marianne had Your Daily Joe. Tech Guru Brett Larson was live from C.E.S show in Vegas showing us all the new tech toy, Mark shared a Forbes 30 under 30 list that included 2 friends of Good Day Sacramento who have gone on to do GREAT things. Our favorite Youtube mom was back with tips how to stay warm. and Mark talked to Todd Baker and Nina from 100.5 about their IPad giveaway.
The 7am hour brought back Joni aka YouTube mom for more tips, this hour ways to use plastic bags. Mark learned the art of Cattle Cutting from 2 local men in Wilton. Marianne talked to a eating expert that talked about how to notice when someone has a disorder as well as Kesha announcing she suffers from a disorder.
The 8am hour Tina played a unique instrument. Cambi was learning workout tips from the Fitness Rangers. Courtney was also getting a workout in. This workout is centered around those with Parkinson's and MS. The #9amtopic was introduced and Amy was checking out an amazing artist who painted the pastry you see at Ettore's. Beautiful paintings. We for the first time in 2 weeks played Teens Tunes. Today's theme was Mixture of music but it was the end of the segment that made it real fun when Cambi and Courtney treated us to a Dance off. I love Courtney and when she dances but Cambi has some moves. Mark continued to learn about the art of Cattle Cutting from 2 local experts.
In the 9am hour Marianne and Laura once again guided us through the #9amtopic where we learned how her and her best friend came to be. Courtney continued learning tips for those with Parkinson's to workout. and Amy learned how to always keep a memory of your Wedding Cake by having Sharon Gerber the artist paint it for you and you will always have that special memory. Mark had some entertainment news where he talked about the movie Lone Survivor which is coming out this Friday. More on this movie this week on Mark at the Movies. Ken's Manly Minute was about woman cheating as well. He gave 5 tips on reasons why. Cambi continued with the Fitness Rangers. and to close the show the Final Question of the Day.
What did we learn:
Today we learned a lot of things with people helping others, We learned what friendship. We learned that having fun is a key and that we need to seek help for those who might have a eating disorder. We learned that Mark S. Allen really does have cool tech toys. We learned that flushable wipes are not so friendly and we learned Dine Downtown will be held January 8-17th this year. We also learned Fox40 Photographers like to relax between life shots and Cambi Brown can shake a tailfeather with Courtney. Finally we learned that no matter the challenge put in front of us we are always going have help or competition.
Looking ahead:
Wednesday Dishin With Tina and Cody Stark returns unless he is still under the weather. So on that I will see you tomorrow at 430am.

The 7am hour brought back Joni aka YouTube mom for more tips, this hour ways to use plastic bags. Mark learned the art of Cattle Cutting from 2 local men in Wilton. Marianne talked to a eating expert that talked about how to notice when someone has a disorder as well as Kesha announcing she suffers from a disorder.
The 8am hour Tina played a unique instrument. Cambi was learning workout tips from the Fitness Rangers. Courtney was also getting a workout in. This workout is centered around those with Parkinson's and MS. The #9amtopic was introduced and Amy was checking out an amazing artist who painted the pastry you see at Ettore's. Beautiful paintings. We for the first time in 2 weeks played Teens Tunes. Today's theme was Mixture of music but it was the end of the segment that made it real fun when Cambi and Courtney treated us to a Dance off. I love Courtney and when she dances but Cambi has some moves. Mark continued to learn about the art of Cattle Cutting from 2 local experts.
In the 9am hour Marianne and Laura once again guided us through the #9amtopic where we learned how her and her best friend came to be. Courtney continued learning tips for those with Parkinson's to workout. and Amy learned how to always keep a memory of your Wedding Cake by having Sharon Gerber the artist paint it for you and you will always have that special memory. Mark had some entertainment news where he talked about the movie Lone Survivor which is coming out this Friday. More on this movie this week on Mark at the Movies. Ken's Manly Minute was about woman cheating as well. He gave 5 tips on reasons why. Cambi continued with the Fitness Rangers. and to close the show the Final Question of the Day.
What did we learn:
Today we learned a lot of things with people helping others, We learned what friendship. We learned that having fun is a key and that we need to seek help for those who might have a eating disorder. We learned that Mark S. Allen really does have cool tech toys. We learned that flushable wipes are not so friendly and we learned Dine Downtown will be held January 8-17th this year. We also learned Fox40 Photographers like to relax between life shots and Cambi Brown can shake a tailfeather with Courtney. Finally we learned that no matter the challenge put in front of us we are always going have help or competition.
