It's a Happy Place.... Today in the News 1/22/2013

Opening Statement:
As many know by now, the post game rant by Seahawks Cornerback Richard Sherman sent the Internet a fire Sunday after it took place which lead him to apologize Monday. On Tuesday the NFL released a Jersey sale update and since Sunday Richard's jersey has skyrocketed into the Top 10 in sales. Is this for his play on the field or for his antics post game? I hope it's for his play but it doesn't appear that way.

Last night CBS13 revealed that 90% of all EDD calls to the office go unanswered. That explains why when you try and call them the recording says We have taken our quota for calls today please try back tomorrow.

I found those 2 stories interesting so what is taking place Today in the News....

Quick Thought:
State of the State address rules Fox40, My58 talks Heroin and Good Day Sacramento delivers coffee on a bike and has a Flash Mob. Plus we found out who wants to talk Aliens with the President, Who can dunk on LeBron James, and Jonah Hill will work for pennies as long as it adds up to $60,000. All this and more took place in Today in the News.....

Recap:

My58:
Today though a very touchy subject they talked about the effects of heroin. I found this story interesting because it ties in with the new movie Gimme Shelter out in theaters Friday.

Fox40:
The show was very State of the State address heavy. One story that stuck out in my mind was the Phone case that protects it from germs.

Good Day Sacramento:
430/5am:
The band is back together, The first edition of Show and Tell had Ken talking about the double toilets in Sochi for the Olympics. Problem is no seperation and only 1 roll of paper.  In the 5am hour we had the second edition of Show and Tell that consisted of a taste test of the new Jelly Belly Beer Bean Smells awful taste mixed. The 5am Club Members were introduced, a husband and wife team from Marysville, Question of the day was a good one with your favorite TV Game Show. Mark had News of the weird and Marianne was back with the Daily List. Today's show us your... was Doorknob.

6am:
The 6am hour we saw the return of Daily Joe. Amy was helping put the finishing touches on the Habitat for Humanity 100th home in Sacramento on Florin and Indian Lane. Mark had entertainment news involving Justin Bieber. Finally Mark, Ken, Marianne talked to local NASCAR Driver Dylan Hutchinson competing in a competition.

7am:
This hour Courtney talked with a Fairfield hairstylist about news ways to do hair. Cody was at a local school as they got set for a special flash mob and Ken talked with Ryan from Nerds on Call about how you can use your gift cards.

8am:
This hour was quite busy. Amy met a local Davis Man that makes his own coffee and then delivers it around Davis and Sacramento, she then followed him on his route. Cody got right in the middle of the crowd for the Phoebe Hearst Elementary Flash Mob where he sat behind a kid with "GREAT" hair. Mark talked to Ryan from Nerds on Call regarding Windows XP going obsolete shortly. The #9amtopic was introduced (Where is your happy place) and Tina was the DJ for Teen's Tunes. Finally Courtney was at a Fairfield Bird Rescue checking out a rare Brown Booby. If you see a rare bird call 866-Wild-911 (8669453911)

9am:
The 9am hour was guided by Laura and Mark today. In this hour it featured a portion of the State of the State Address as well as Courtney finding out more info from the Bird Rescue in Fairfield and the Brown Booby. The #9amtopic was answered by viewers and Tina was Dishin With Tina at Cieltio Lindo. Mark had some entertainment news and Ken had a pretty good Manly Minute for Shy Guys. Personal story on that in Final Thoughts. For the final question of the day it was what song would you request from Mark on Now 100.5 but it was before the question we found out that Julissa was off today celebrating her Birthday.

Final Thought:
For a change I found My58 was better than Fox40 today in my opinion. Not taking away from the State of the State I didn't know why we needed a full hour of it on Fox.

Good Day was very good today. Some of the stories I like were Amy delivering coffee, Mark and his News of the Weird, Courtney from the bird rescue, Dishin With Tina, Manly Minute, Cody's flash mob and Daily list to name a few. The Manly minute I liked because I am shy. Once I open up I am okay but it takes me awhile to open. I have gotten a lot better since the Good Day Crew and my Best Friend Christy have increased my confidence but had it not been for my Best Friend helping me when I first met her 11 years ago I don't know if I could have gotten this far. My very first words to her.... "Are you Asian" because I was so nervous meeting her. It was then just a few years later when I met Cody Stark, Ashley Williams, Mark S. Allen, Tina Macuha when I really started coming out of my shell. I still get nervous around all of them but I can at least look at them as well as others just not so much in a group setting but in a one on one.

As Kenneth Rudulph talked about in Show and Tell today on Good Day Sacramento the Sochi games could be interesting in the bathroom. Here is a different look at this crappy set up.  sochi 1

Finally I want to give a very special shout out to Good Day Sacramento's own Julissa Ortiz who is celebrating her birthday today. She holds a very special place in my heart and I thank her for all she has done for me. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JU!!!!! Now come back for tomorrow because DIY Thursday's aren't the same without you.....
