Opening Statement:
If you're familiar with the weekend show of Good Day Sacramento then you know Cody is a big fan of The Big Bang Theory. One of the best parts of the show is the Soft Kitty song. Over the last year or two Cody will ask bands, and/or singers to take the Soft Kitty Challenge. Cody then collects these and sends them to the producers of the show. Today is National Running day so one local man, Scott Yates is running to work. From UC Davis Hospital to UC Davis (20 miles) so Amy talked with him and his dad before he took off. While talking to Amy he was stretching which then broke out an impromptu 838 Style Stretch for Good Day. Marianne's Daily List talked about mistakes made on vacation. The 5am Club Member was introduced. Mark had News of the Weird that included Sheep, Bear, and twins. Cody and Mark had the California Chrome report. Marianne had a video of dogs and 1 cat going to the beach in today's Show and Tell. Mark talked about one lucky viewer getting a trip of a life time to see Transformers 1. Today's Question of the day was Favorite Nor Cal getaway. Today's Show us yours was You Jogging.
6am:
In this hour Mark talked more about the Transformers 4 giveaway. Marianne's Daily Joe talked about an astronaut tweeting his experience in space. Scott Yates ran by the studio on his way to Davis. Courtney's Check This Out was a drinkable Sun Screen. (Check with your doctor before taking it per Courtney) Marianne had the hourly California Chrome Update.
7am:
In this hour Cody talked with Chef Giada who has opened her own restaurant in Vegas. Marianne made Watermelon Cake. Courtney talked to a local girl who is trying to get to Nationals to get her Pro Card and you can help Shalette. Mark headed to Carmichael to check in on Aaron on his last day of school.
8am:
Amy was at Sloughhouse Inn talking about Wedding runners and favors on the cheap. Scott Yates arrived at work after his 20 mile run. Teen's Tunes was played. Mark continued hanging out with Aaron because Aaron was the local viewer who won the trip to NY to see Transformers 4 causing a tear jerking moment. Nutritionist Jonny Bowden was in studio talking Omega 3. Cambi is at Sacramento Airport to see California Chrome owners off to NY. Hidden Cash is heading to Sacramento. So today's #9amtopic the question was What was the coolest thing you ever found.
9am:
Leading off this hour Cambi chatted with California Chrome Owner Perry Martin minutes before boarding the plane to NY. Tina was Dishin at A & K BBQ. Amy was getting more tips from A Blooming Affair for a Drought Friendly Wedding. Mark continued to hang out with Aaron. Cody and Julissa took us through the hour and today's topic. Courtney was at Princess hair talking about Hair Extension. Today's final question was Best Wedding Color Combo.
Final Thoughts:
Running:
Today is National Jogging Day so what a better way to celebrate than to watch Scott Yates run from UC Davis Hospital to UC Davis College about 20 miles from each other. Scott who is in training for a marathon ran to his office at the campus in about 3 hours and 40 minutes. Scott did make a quick stop to the Good Day Studio on his way. You could say he was running through but he did stop to take a selfie with Mark. His dad met him in West Sacramento to ride his bike with Scott to his Davis destination.
Transformers:
Yesterday Mark teased a Big giveaway for Transformers 4. Today Mark headed to Carmichael to meet up with our friend Aaron who is in a wheelchair because he was born with no arms and legs. Aaron came into the spotlight when he was trying to win a new van for he and his family. Mark and Aaron really hit it off and Mark has visited with Aaron a couple of times since then including today when Mark revealed Aaron would be heading to New York for the Premiere of Transformers 4. Not only does he get to see the movie but he also gets to talk to stars of the film including Mark Wahlberg. In addition to that Aaron got to ride in a Bumble Bee. This made for a very heart wrenching moment on Good Day and yes I had tears.
Pro Card:
Today on Good Day with Courtney a local group of women are heading to Nationals to get their Pro Card. But one local woman needs help getting there so she set up a Go Fund me site to raise money to get to Pittsburgh, PA. So if you can help Shalette please do. Go Fund me is today's version of a Bake Sale to raise money but Shalette is very deserving of going and I hope she gets enough funds to reach her goal.
Drought Wedding:
As long time viewers of Good Day you will remember Amy is engaged. So today she headed to Sloughhouse Inn to check out Drought Friendly Weddings. Allison from A Blooming Affair uses Faux flowers to decorate the rows and party favors. She even has Faux boutiques for the Bride. Not only are the flowers not real but they are also very cost effective. Starting out at about $8 You can get these lifelike decorations from A Blooming Affair.
Dishin:
Wednesday's and Sunday's are Dishin with Tina Days and this weeks feature was A & K BBQ in Sacramento. A & K was featured in January of this year and since then they have been so busy with customers and their catering business. In fact he is so busy he was unable to come into the studio today to share because then his customers would have suffered. But I strongly encourage everyone to try A & K BBQ. It is so very good.
Good Day Nutshell:
Other stories today on Good Day Marianne talked about an astronaut who is currently in space and tweeting about his experience. This is pretty awesome to see and read his tweets. It really gives you a look at what goes on in space. Reid Wiseman @astro_reid

Marianne gets all types of things in her inbox and today she shared a watermelon cake made with a watermelon, fruit, nuts she used almonds and heavy whipping cream for the frosting. The complete recipe is linked above if you want to try it.
Courtney had an interesting Check this out where you drink the sunscreen. It looks disgusting but it's made with tomato juice but Courtney also cautioned to consult with your doctor before trying it.
Courtney also headed to Princess Hair to look fabulous with hair extensions and what's best for you. All the girls looked amazing.
Ken headed to New York today so that he can bring the BEST coverage of California Chrome and his quest for winning the Triple Crown at the Belmont Stakes. So because of that Cambi was at Sacramento Metro Airport to land an interview with California Chrome owner Perry Martin minutes before boarding. Cambi's interview was professional however Ryan from News10 was not. Perry appeared agitated with his line of questioning and being the Professional Ryan is should know better than to ask stupid questions. Well done Cambi.

Courtney talked to a local girl who is trying to get to Nationals to get her Pro Card and you can help Shalette. Mark headed to Carmichael to check in on Aaron on his last day of school.

Amy was at Sloughhouse Inn talking about Wedding runners and favors on the cheap. Scott Yates arrived at work after his 20 mile run. Teen's Tunes was played. Mark continued hanging out with Aaron because Aaron was the local viewer who won the trip to NY to see Transformers 4 causing a tear jerking moment. Nutritionist Jonny Bowden was in studio talking Omega 3. Cambi is at Sacramento Airport to see California Chrome owners off to NY. Hidden Cash is heading to Sacramento. So today's #9amtopic the question was What was the coolest thing you ever found.
9am:
Leading off this hour Cambi chatted with California Chrome Owner Perry Martin minutes before boarding the plane to NY. Tina was Dishin at A & K BBQ. Amy was getting more tips from A Blooming Affair for a Drought Friendly Wedding. Mark continued to hang out with Aaron. Cody and Julissa took us through the hour and today's topic. Courtney was at Princess hair talking about Hair Extension. Today's final question was Best Wedding Color Combo.
Final Thoughts:
Running:
Today is National Jogging Day so what a better way to celebrate than to watch Scott Yates run from UC Davis Hospital to UC Davis College about 20 miles from each other. Scott who is in training for a marathon ran to his office at the campus in about 3 hours and 40 minutes. Scott did make a quick stop to the Good Day Studio on his way. You could say he was running through but he did stop to take a selfie with Mark. His dad met him in West Sacramento to ride his bike with Scott to his Davis destination.
Transformers:
Yesterday Mark teased a Big giveaway for Transformers 4. Today Mark headed to Carmichael to meet up with our friend Aaron who is in a wheelchair because he was born with no arms and legs. Aaron came into the spotlight when he was trying to win a new van for he and his family. Mark and Aaron really hit it off and Mark has visited with Aaron a couple of times since then including today when Mark revealed Aaron would be heading to New York for the Premiere of Transformers 4. Not only does he get to see the movie but he also gets to talk to stars of the film including Mark Wahlberg. In addition to that Aaron got to ride in a Bumble Bee. This made for a very heart wrenching moment on Good Day and yes I had tears.
Pro Card:
Today on Good Day with Courtney a local group of women are heading to Nationals to get their Pro Card. But one local woman needs help getting there so she set up a Go Fund me site to raise money to get to Pittsburgh, PA. So if you can help Shalette please do. Go Fund me is today's version of a Bake Sale to raise money but Shalette is very deserving of going and I hope she gets enough funds to reach her goal.
Drought Wedding:
As long time viewers of Good Day you will remember Amy is engaged. So today she headed to Sloughhouse Inn to check out Drought Friendly Weddings. Allison from A Blooming Affair uses Faux flowers to decorate the rows and party favors. She even has Faux boutiques for the Bride. Not only are the flowers not real but they are also very cost effective. Starting out at about $8 You can get these lifelike decorations from A Blooming Affair.
Dishin:
Wednesday's and Sunday's are Dishin with Tina Days and this weeks feature was A & K BBQ in Sacramento. A & K was featured in January of this year and since then they have been so busy with customers and their catering business. In fact he is so busy he was unable to come into the studio today to share because then his customers would have suffered. But I strongly encourage everyone to try A & K BBQ. It is so very good.
Good Day Nutshell:
Other stories today on Good Day Marianne talked about an astronaut who is currently in space and tweeting about his experience. This is pretty awesome to see and read his tweets. It really gives you a look at what goes on in space. Reid Wiseman @astro_reid

Ken headed to New York today so that he can bring the BEST coverage of California Chrome and his quest for winning the Triple Crown at the Belmont Stakes. So because of that Cambi was at Sacramento Metro Airport to land an interview with California Chrome owner Perry Martin minutes before boarding. Cambi's interview was professional however Ryan from News10 was not. Perry appeared agitated with his line of questioning and being the Professional Ryan is should know better than to ask stupid questions. Well done Cambi.
As we head into Thursday we can look forward to Gina from Thrift Town and Ken in New York plus so much more.
