Fun Things To Do.... Today in the News 6/5/2014:

Opening Statement:
I don't know how many of you saw the Tonight Show Tuesday night with Jonah Hill on to promote his new movie 22 Jump Street but he lead off with rather serious moment. Jonah was being harassed by paparazzi and it got personal. After a whole day of this treatment Jonah could no longer take it and wanted to hurt back. Jonah did something stupid and he knew it right away. Jonah took the first part of his segment not talking about the movie but giving one of the BEST public apologies I have ever seen from a Hollywood Star. I have included video and the article from Huffington Post so you can read and hear how heartbroken Jonah was. I am not a big Jonah Hill fan never was nor will I be but because he owned it I will see 22 Jump Street.

Fox40:
Viewers Voice: The NFL is scrapping the Roman numerals for the 50th Super Bowl. Instead of Super Bowl L, it'll be Super Bowl 50. Some say it's a shrewd move because it might be tough to sell hats and shirts with a big L on the front. Our Viewers Voice question: Is switching away from the Roman numerals a good move for the NFL?

Recap:
Fox40:
Today on Fox a lot of stuff to do is coming up on Saturday. Not only is it Grape Escape but also Doggy Dash to benefit the SPCA and this weeks Pet of the week but also the 2014 Veg Fest hits Red Lion Inn. If you like all things vegetarian this is the place to go.

Good Day Sacramento:
430/5am:
Leading off today Marianne showed video of Obama working out, Cody knows where to not leave your bike in San Francisco with the new map that shows highly populated theft areas for bikes. The 5am Club Members were introduced. Mark had News of the Weird that included a Japan woman divorcing her husband because he would not see Frozen. Let it Go. Your aging yourself.. Stop slouching in today's Daily List. Today's Question of the Day was You will not find me doing what with temps to hit 100. Today is Throwback Thursday so Show us yours was Throwback photos.

6am:
Ladies if you missed the 6am hour then you missed Mark S. Allen talking Grape Escape and Breakfast at your place with Hook & Ladder, Kit Harrington talking Game of Thrones, and How to Train your Dragon 2 and Marianne talking about Snake Massage (NO NO NO) and NFL going to numbers for Super Bowl 50.

7am:
In this hour one of the finest actors in our lifetime joined Cody to talk about the Tony Awards, Harvey Fierstein. If you have never seen Birdcage you must. You will fall out of your chair laughing. Ken was live in New York at the Belmont Stakes. Courtney was checking out Camo for Dad with Barebones. Mark continued with Breakfast at your place and Grape Escape with Hook & Ladder.

8am:
In this very busy hour Mark continued with Breakfast at your place and Grape Escape. Ken continued from New York. Taste of Fair Oaks was previewed in studio with a chocolate fountain. Melissa was in Yuba City at The Cookie Tree making California Chrome Cookies. Courtney was at Leo Palmiter learning drought friendly landscaping tips. Actor John Leguizamo talked about his new movie Chef. Best Selling Author John Lescroart was in studio talking about his newest project and conference coming up June 20-22 at UOP in Stockton. Gina from Thrift Town is making a Chore Chart so when it comes to chores You don't mind doing___ but don't ask me to do ____ is today's #9amtopic.

9am:
The 9am hour is so big it took 3 to get us through it and today's topic. Mark, Cody and Julissa handled the 9am hour while Melissa was at the Cookie Tree decorating cookies against their decorator. Ken continued from New York where the ground is muddy and security is tight but Dave did get a GREAT shot of California Chrome because Dave is one of the BEST Photographers in the Business. Thrifty Thursday is upon us and Gina from Thrift Town showed how to make fun Chore Charts. Mark sat down with the stars of the movie The Fault in the Stars. Courtney continued from Leo Palmiter getting Drought Friendly Landscaping tips. Tina's final question of the day was Last argument you had

Final Thoughts:
Fox40:

School of Rock:
Continuing with fun things to do this Saturday Folsom gets their own School of Rock minus Jack Black. Yes, this Saturday Bach to Rock opens its Folsom location and your kids can learn everything from classical to country to rock music.

Let it Go:
Troy Carlson from Stage Nine Vault in Old Sacramento joined to talk about the Disney Frozen art collection he now has on display from the movie Frozen. So don't Let it Go just go and check out these amazing art pieces.

Good Day:
Breakfast:
One of my favorite segments on Good Day Sacramento is Breakfast at your place. Today it took place in West Sacramento with one beautiful family. Hook & Ladder provided the family with tasty omelets, fresh vegetables and country potatoes.

Grape Escape:
The reason for Breakfast at your place was because this Saturday Mark and Tina will be your emcee's for the Grape Escape. For just $35 you get great food from restaurants like Hook & Ladder, wine and new this year beer.

Live from New York:
This Saturday the Belmont Stakes is taking place and today on Good Day Sacramento Live from New York Ken and Camera Guy Dave were there providing live updates on California Chrome and the wet weather. Security is tight but Dave did get a nice shot of the horse for us.

Weird:
Today in Mark's News of the Weird he talked about a woman in Japan upset with her husband for not going to see Frozen with her. She had to Let it Go. She divorced him and moved in with her parents.

Chocolate Fountain:
Staying with the theme of the day taking place tomorrow is Taste of Fair Oaks. So what better way to promote an event where chickens roam with not one but two chocolate fountains. You had me at fountain. Because like Cody who ran the segment and cannot taste anything I can't have chocolate unless it is sugar free but I love chocolate fountains and they did look good.

Cookie:
Where can you find cookies, cookies that look like California Chrome and Melissa having fun all at the same time? Yuba City at The Cookie Tree. This locally owned cookie shop is cashing in on the California Chrome wave by making delicious cookies that look like the famous Yuba City Horse going for the Triple Crown on Saturday. Plus Melissa got into a decorating cookie off and won. The Cookie Tree has been in business for 30 years.

DIY:
I'm going to say it. I LOVE Thrifty Thursday with Gina from Thrift Town. After last week I said she would go into her lab and come up with yet another GREAT DIY project for this week and guess what? She did. This week she made fun chore charts that reward your kids for doing chores plus the charts are easy for the kids to make during summer break. I love it.

Good Day Nutshell:
What is the Good Day Nutshell? It's the best of the rest and today Cody gets top billing. Not only did he talk with famous Actor John Leguizamo about his newest movie Chef in theaters now but he also talked with Best selling author John Lescroart about his newest project that teams him up with two other authors bringing three characters together in one story in Faceoff. But he also talked with the GREAT Harvey Fierstein who is nominated for a Tony Award this Sunday on CBS. If you've seen Birdcage you will know how great Harvey is as an actor.

Need something for Fathers Day? How about heading to Barebones Workwear and checking out their Camo Collection like Courtney did today on Good Day Sacramento.

Despite the late rain we had this year we are still in the midst of a drought. So yesterday Amy was with Allison Hampton from A Blooming Affair getting ideas on a drought free wedding. Today Courtney was getting tips from a group of schoolkids on drought free landscape. Both Allison and the kids at Leo Palmiter school are great ones. Here again are the clips from Amy. Part 2 is Amateur video.
