This Little Piggy... Today in the News Weekend Edition Part 1 3/1/2014:
Opening Statement:
This latest storm we have been given has created a lot of excitement in the area with so much rain, snow and water on the ground. While it all helps it is important we remember the drought in California is FAR from over. They said the snow we got thus far is just going to soak into the ground and will have very little run off. Last night a Funnel Cloud was spotted, Though it may not be important to some it is EXTREMELY important to those who live in the area so if your show has to be preempted for a news event just think if it was your area so you knew what to do in case it was a touchdown. Last year I was minutes away from one that touch downed in the Elk Grove area.
Reminder next week will be Good Day Sacramento only in Today in the News.

This might be one of the fastest paced shows in a long time but it was nonstop fun on Totally Random Saturday with Plate Spinning, Knife Throwing YoYo action and Pigs at the Market and that was just 3 segments in the 9am hour. For a complete recap of all the fun today check it out below.

In this hour to start things off Cody is clearly back and it shows with the nice easy flow of the show we have all come to love. Tina is off this weekend however. Today is random photo day for Show us yours and How do you you entertain yourself during rain is today's #GDSJustCurious topic. Also in this hour Kevin was at a 9 home Garage Sale in Elk Grove/Sacramento area. Cambi was checking the slopes out at Boreal. Lori was at a Youth Baseball Tournament in Mather Field and Michael Marks was in studio celebrating his 25 years in television. The Skype guest this hour was Kelly Lord trying to save the Robotic Trashcan that talks, sings and more at Disney World. PLEASE like her Facebook page to try and save it.
8am:
In the GREAT 8 Amy and Cody talked to author Chris Enns about her new book. Love Lessons of the Wild West. Lori was checking out the Undy 500 and found celebrity Emcee Ken Rudulph from Good Day Sacramento. Cambi is continuing from Boreal all morning. A Filed report about Mutt Bombing was shown. Amy talked to a group of MMA fighters about their upcoming fight and 11 year old who designed their hats with proceeds go to Leukemia Society. Michael was back with how Produce changed in his 25 years of television. Finally Kevin was celebrating the 1 year old CJ Tiger cub at the Sacramento Zoo.
9am:
Cambi's Ski reports continued from Boreal. Amy talked to Lash Fary about all the things Celebs are getting in their grab bags tomorrow at the Oscars but this was part 1 and 2 of this segment. Cody got to twrill plates with Arrows, while others juggled swords with Cody in the middle as part of the Sonora Celtic Faire coming up next weekend. Amy and Cody both talked to Writer/Director and Actress from Splashed, a movie about Human Trafficking that was filmed on the streets of Sacramento. Kevin was checking out the YOYO Championship at Downtown Plaza. BEST for last segment of the hour Lori went to Pig Day at the Davis Farmers Market. This was the Live shot of the day. Lori was having way too much fun.
10am:
In this final hour of the show Celtic music and the Mountain Motion Jugglers performed on the Good Day Stage. Lash was back via Skype to talk about the Grab bag items for tomorrow's Oscars. Cambi finished her reports from Boreal. Lori was at UC Davis as they get set for their Basketball game tonight at 5pm airing on ESPN2. Melissa had her Hot Headlines with lots of engagement news including Mary Kate Olsen. Cody and Amy showed the clip of Jeff Gordon giving a blogger a wild ride after doubting him. Kevin was climbing the walls at Sac State for the Bouldering Competition.
Final Thoughts:
Today we start the month of March and we welcomed back Cody who was out ill last week. It was GREAT seeing him back in his chair at the desk. Today Cody wore a Western Shirt because a local viewer told our friend Neda who was skiing the other day that Cody looked good in them.
While we missed Tina and her famous Booty Pop Kevin always does a GREAT job in the field leading off with the garage sale followed by celebrating CJ the tigers birthday before checking out the YoYo Championship. One thing I know about Kevin is he will run through walls to help you but climbing them... Sure will as seen today on Good Day Sacramento despite someone before him falling off the wall.
Cambi went to Boreal all morning and lost her glove but was found at home.
Amy loves gifts and she loved talking to Lash Fary about all the things celebs are getting.
Cody got to spin plates on his head the only catch was having to stand in the middle of knife throwing jugglers. Are you crazy?
Lori won the day. Yes she checked out a local baseball tournament and put on underwear for Undy 500 and later previewed UC Davis basketball but the Pig Day at the Farmers Market was classic. So to answer the age old question yes, this little piggy went to market but does it wee wee wee all the way home?
Today was very fun on Good Day Sacramento and tomorrow is Oscar heavy so with that said let's look ahead to tomorrow and say Today was a Good Day Sacramento.

Lori won the day. Yes she checked out a local baseball tournament and put on underwear for Undy 500 and later previewed UC Davis basketball but the Pig Day at the Farmers Market was classic.
