It's So Big..... Today in the News Weekend Edition Part 2 3/30/2014:
Opening Statement:
As we have talked about in the past everyone thinks if they have a keyboard or a social media account they automatically think they are the expert or can say whatever they wish to whom ever they wish. Much is the case of people openly criticizing media i.e. Cody for the rain. Prior to the rain starting yesterday Cody got an email saying how much he ruined a persons plans because it wasn't raining like Cody predicted it would. Well shortly after sent was hit the rain came down and continued all day. Please people stop! Cody is smarter than you when it comes to this because one that's his job and two he has so many resources that help him. No he can't always predict the time but he's pretty damn good at telling you what's going to take place in weather. So before you send emails, tweets, Facebook post etc. just don't. As football coach Herm Edwards says "DON'T PRESS SEND!"

7am:
In this hour Amy was BACK!!!! Eleanor brought the Hollywood Gossip including Odd Celebrity Baby Names. Cody and Amy talked to Dave Klein, Podcaster of Walking Dead. Melissa was at a Mexican spot that has a 4 lbs burrito but today it was 5 lbs 19 inches long. We met contestant #1 of the Clam Chowder Throwdown. Nina was also back checking to see what was for breakfast at Carol's in West Sacramento. Stephanie Dodd brought us another edition of Recipes from Home with her Almond Milk. You can see this recipe and more on her website.
8am:
In the GREAT 8 we met Top Shelf Reggae Band, The judges for the Throwdown Challenge were announced. Cody from NOW 100.5 Hunter Quinn from NOW 100.5 and Bre from KSFM 102.5. Melissa was making her WORLD Famous Mexican Dip at the Taqueria Rincon Alteno. Cody headed to a rare live shot this hour so Lori stepped in to cover the desk with Amy after the 830am updates. Lori introduced us to the 3rd contestant for the Throwdown challenge. Top Shelf performed on the Good Day Stage and sounded pretty amazing. 9am:
In this hour Amy had a CUTE Kid fashion show from Shabby Chic Headbands. Lori introduced us to 2 more Clam Chowder contestants. Nina continued from the Music Vinyl Fair in Davis. With Cody out in the field this hour Melissa came back to cover the news at the top/bottom of the hour. Cody was at the Twisted Terror Convention where he talked to Chandler Riggs and Kyla Kennedy from The Walking Dead. Kyla has such a cute smile but she seems like she could RIP your face off :). Top Shelf performed another song. Amy talked to Cupcake A La Mode about Succulent inspired cupcakes and yes you can eat them. Doug The Car Czar talked about his amazing event at Strikes and well Doug is a better car repairman than bowler with 3 gutter balls.
10am:
In the final hour Cody continued from Twisted Terror Convention talking to stars. Lori introduced us to the 3 judges for the Clam Chowder Throwdown, Hunter can be heard Weekdays 6pm - 10pm on Now 100.5. Cody can be heard from 10am - 3pm on Now and Bre can be heard from 10am - 5pm Weekdays on KSFM. Doug was back Striking out at Strikes but for a good cause. Nina goes back to Crawdads on the River who is opening once again after a remodel. Melissa had Hot Headlines including why Kelsey Grammer took his pants off. Cody talked with Dave Baker the Prop Master from HIMYM. The Clam Chowder winner was announced - Congrats Dixie you are the Clam Chowder Champion. Red Robin was in studio showing off their new Milkshakes made with wine and other menu items.
Final Thoughts:
Today's show was so big it broke the scale of television. Other shows want to be like Good Day Sacramento but they can't so they just join Good Day Sacramento.
No seriously today's show was huge. Not only did it have Amy and Nina back but Melissa checked out a 4 lbs burrito that actually weighed 5 lbs and Top Shelf the band ate it. Plus Melissa made her famous chip dip for the restaurant and they liked it. I hope they add it to the menu. Melissa then came back to join Amy and Lori to cover the studio so Cody could have his day but more on that shortly.
As I said after about a two week break Nina was back. First we found out what was for breakfast at Carol's in West Sacramento before she headed to a vinyl fair in Davis picking up old school records. Then she headed to newly remodeled Crawdads on the River to see what's new as they reopen.
I also said Amy was back and today she covered cupcakes from Cupcake A la Mode that look like cactus and other succulents as well as a cute kid fashion show with Shabby Chic Headbands.
Red Robin was in studio to close the show with new menu items including milkshakes made with wine. If you need to find Julissa and Laura start by checking at Red Robin.
It's Sunday so Eleanor had all her juicy Hollywood gossip that we all love.
Now we can start getting into the show.
Where to begin on such a HUGE show like today.
It is Sunday so that means today is Dishin with Tina and today it was Laura's choice from One Speed Pizza. I wish I could eat pizza so I could try this amazing place. Look for the next installment Wednesday in the 9 on Good Day Sacramento.
Today was also a Throwdown Challenge with a Clam Chowder Theme and we had 5 excellent contestants battle it out for the Celebrity judges. Judges that included Now 100.5 Hunter Quinn who puts us all to bed from 6-10pm. Plus 2 others who battle for ratings each day but to be honest I love them both the same and that is Cody on the Radio midday's on Now 100.5 and Bre also midday's on KSFM 102.5. With these 3 DEEJAYS plus Nina in the Morning and Mark S. Allen in drive home on Now the future of CBS Radio is bright. Congrats to this challenge winner Dixie.
Saving the BEST for last Cody's day was also HUGE! Not only did he get to talk to Podcaster David Klein about The Walking Dead but he also talked to chandler Riggs and Kyla Kennedy from the Walking Dead who are in town at the Twisted Terror Convention. Plus Cody got to chat with Dave Baker the Prop Master from HIMYM which comes to a close tomorrow night on CBS. Cody will be tweeting live throughout the show so let's all support him.
To sum up today's show I don't know how they continue to amaze but I really do know because Good Day Sacramento and the weekend cast are freaking amazing individuals who come together week after week to provide us with the most information and fun they can but the work is not just weekends because they are already planning next week and will be throughout the week. GREAT JOB BY ALL AT Good Day Sacramento TODAY AND THIS WEEKEND!

This convention welcomes Sci-Fi lovers from all over the region to learn more about their favorite shows and get some behind the scenes look at some Sci-Fi channel favorites! 7am:
In this hour Amy was BACK!!!! Eleanor brought the Hollywood Gossip including Odd Celebrity Baby Names. Cody and Amy talked to Dave Klein, Podcaster of Walking Dead. Melissa was at a Mexican spot that has a 4 lbs burrito but today it was 5 lbs 19 inches long. We met contestant #1 of the Clam Chowder Throwdown. Nina was also back checking to see what was for breakfast at Carol's in West Sacramento. Stephanie Dodd brought us another edition of Recipes from Home with her Almond Milk. 8am:
In the GREAT 8 we met Top Shelf Reggae Band, The judges for the Throwdown Challenge were announced. Cody from NOW 100.5 Hunter Quinn from NOW 100.5 and Bre from KSFM 102.5. Melissa was making her WORLD Famous Mexican Dip at the Taqueria Rincon Alteno. Cody headed to a rare live shot this hour so Lori stepped in to cover the desk with Amy after the 830am updates. Lori introduced us to the 3rd contestant for the Throwdown challenge. Top Shelf performed on the Good Day Stage and sounded pretty amazing. 9am:
In this hour Amy had a CUTE Kid fashion show from Shabby Chic Headbands. Lori introduced us to 2 more Clam Chowder contestants. Nina continued from the Music Vinyl Fair in Davis. With Cody out in the field this hour Melissa came back to cover the news at the top/bottom of the hour. Cody was at the Twisted Terror Convention where he talked to Chandler Riggs and Kyla Kennedy from The Walking Dead. Kyla has such a cute smile but she seems like she could RIP your face off :). Top Shelf performed another song. Amy talked to Cupcake A La Mode about Succulent inspired cupcakes and yes you can eat them. Doug The Car Czar talked about his amazing event at Strikes and well Doug is a better car repairman than bowler with 3 gutter balls.
10am:
In the final hour Cody continued from Twisted Terror Convention talking to stars. Lori introduced us to the 3 judges for the Clam Chowder Throwdown, Hunter can be heard Weekdays 6pm - 10pm on Now 100.5. Cody can be heard from 10am - 3pm on Now and Bre can be heard from 10am - 5pm Weekdays on KSFM. Doug was back Striking out at Strikes but for a good cause. Nina goes back to Crawdads on the River who is opening once again after a remodel. Melissa had Hot Headlines including why Kelsey Grammer took his pants off. Cody talked with Dave Baker the Prop Master from HIMYM. The Clam Chowder winner was announced - Congrats Dixie you are the Clam Chowder Champion. Red Robin was in studio showing off their new Milkshakes made with wine and other menu items.
Final Thoughts:
Today's show was so big it broke the scale of television. Other shows want to be like Good Day Sacramento but they can't so they just join Good Day Sacramento.
No seriously today's show was huge. Not only did it have Amy and Nina back but Melissa checked out a 4 lbs burrito that actually weighed 5 lbs and Top Shelf the band ate it. Plus Melissa made her famous chip dip for the restaurant and they liked it. I hope they add it to the menu. Melissa then came back to join Amy and Lori to cover the studio so Cody could have his day but more on that shortly.
As I said after about a two week break Nina was back. First we found out what was for breakfast at Carol's in West Sacramento before she headed to a vinyl fair in Davis picking up old school records. Then she headed to newly remodeled Crawdads on the River to see what's new as they reopen.
I also said Amy was back and today she covered cupcakes from Cupcake A la Mode that look like cactus and other succulents as well as a cute kid fashion show with Shabby Chic Headbands.
Red Robin was in studio to close the show with new menu items including milkshakes made with wine. If you need to find Julissa and Laura start by checking at Red Robin.
It's Sunday so Eleanor had all her juicy Hollywood gossip that we all love.
Now we can start getting into the show.
Where to begin on such a HUGE show like today.
It is Sunday so that means today is Dishin with Tina and today it was Laura's choice from One Speed Pizza. I wish I could eat pizza so I could try this amazing place. Look for the next installment Wednesday in the 9 on Good Day Sacramento.
Today was also a Throwdown Challenge with a Clam Chowder Theme and we had 5 excellent contestants battle it out for the Celebrity judges. Judges that included Now 100.5 Hunter Quinn who puts us all to bed from 6-10pm. Plus 2 others who battle for ratings each day but to be honest I love them both the same and that is Cody on the Radio midday's on Now 100.5 and Bre also midday's on KSFM 102.5. With these 3 DEEJAYS plus Nina in the Morning and Mark S. Allen in drive home on Now the future of CBS Radio is bright. Congrats to this challenge winner Dixie.
Saving the BEST for last Cody's day was also HUGE! Not only did he get to talk to Podcaster David Klein about The Walking Dead but he also talked to chandler Riggs and Kyla Kennedy from the Walking Dead who are in town at the Twisted Terror Convention. Plus Cody got to chat with Dave Baker the Prop Master from HIMYM which comes to a close tomorrow night on CBS. Cody will be tweeting live throughout the show so let's all support him.
To sum up today's show I don't know how they continue to amaze but I really do know because Good Day Sacramento and the weekend cast are freaking amazing individuals who come together week after week to provide us with the most information and fun they can but the work is not just weekends because they are already planning next week and will be throughout the week. GREAT JOB BY ALL AT Good Day Sacramento TODAY AND THIS WEEKEND!
