Opening Statement:
A week ago I was in LA, and at the same time Cody was dressed as Han Solo hanging out with the original Hulk Lou Ferringo  amongst others. Today we are both back. Cody who once again fell ill and missed the last 2 days and I who was back on Monday but doing my first Today in the News Weekend Edition in what feels like the longest time. 

Before we get into what is taking place in Today in the News I want to wish my friend Mark S. Allen a Happy Birthday. Mark is one of the nicest guys you can meet despite what you might see on camera Mark is a very smart, caring individual who loves his work and would give the shirt off his back to help others. Mel: 50 State Marathon Guy 
Randell Hansen is a Marathon Runner who has been on our show before. Randell has visited all 50 states and 50 capitols, and after traveling this much he decided that he was going to attempt something that has never been done before. Run a marathon in all 50 states! In 2013 alone Randell ran 5 marathons! As of now, he has run 17 marathons in 15 states! Today he joined Melissa in studio to talk about his progress and where he plans on running next!

Quick Thought:
Today's show had a classic Good Day weekend feel to it. With Melissa in Studio with Cody it felt like Good Day of old. Now don't get me wrong I LOVE Amy but it just has a different feel when Melissa and Lori Co-host with Cody. 

Flint Book was not to appear today but they will be on Sunday. 

Very Quickly I want send out another Birthday wish to Sean Bennett, May your day be filled with happiness, love and whatever you can wish for today.

7am:
To kick off the hour Show us your's topic today was sports photos. The #GDSJustCurious topic was You won't believe this but... In the 7am hour Tina was at Sugar Mama's Bakery. (A fun fact about this bakery this was the place that provided both a cake and cupcakes for Cody's Birthday that he had last.) Lori was checking out Zombie's getting ready to run the Zombie run and Cambi was playing ball for Good Day at your game. This is one of my favorite segments on the weekend show and Cambi makes it fun each time. 

8am:
In the GREAT 8 Cambi talked to Good Day's Ken Rudulph about the history of Little League in Rancho Cordova and that he will be giving the pregame speech today. The league has been around for 60 years but Ken was not in all of them. Tina was at Sutters Fort checking out the Frontier Working Woman. Melissa was hanging out with Momtourage as she showed St. Patrick's Day crafts and candies. Lori was getting dirty with Zombies this hour and Cody was eating pie and drinking beer with Percy's Pies and Valor Winery who is launching their new line of beer. The 838 stretch was done and now we all feel better. 

9am:
Wow!!! That was a quick busy hour. In this hour Tina was checking out the Bird Shop celebrating 35 years in business. Many did not know Tina is a bird lover and had several. Cambi was testing out her arm at Good Day at your Game in Fair Oaks. She pitched a speed of 27 MPH. Lori was finding GREAT deals at Just Between Friends taking place today and tomorrow at the Convention Center. Melissa was talking to a Marathoner Randel who is running a marathon in ALL 50 States. Cody was checking out Streets of London's new Corn Beef and Cabbage wraps. Cody and Melissa talked with Author Eric Deckard about his book Fart Tart Freddy, Bullying Stinks. 

10am:
In this final hour of the show today Tina was at the 18th Annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Old Sacramento. Cody tasted the Corn Beef and Cabbage wrap from Streets of London and LOVED IT! Lori was checking out an amazing performance from the Mira Loma HS Drama Department. Cambi was trying to get FREE tickets from Fair Oaks Little Leaguers for when they make it big time. 

Final Thoughts:
After being gone a week ago it was nice to be back covering the show I love on the weekend. 

Today's Good Day Sacramento weekend show was so fast paced and fun to watch. 

As I said Amy was not in so that teamed Cody with Melissa at the desk and it was GREAT to see. Not only do I love each of them individually but them as a team hold a special place with me because it was the both of them who made me feel right at home during my first official visit though I've been to the studio before that this was the visit I started to learn about the show. 

Now that story time is over it was so great seeing the ladies at Sugar Mama's Bakery. I had not seen them since Cody's birthday. It was great seeing them with Tina before she headed to The Bird Shop and Sutters Fort for Women of Frontier Days and then to the St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Cambi got to play ball today with Little Leaguers in Rancho Cordova and Fair Oaks. 

While Tina was in the Frontier and playing Bagpipes and Cambi was playing Ball Lori was running from Zombie's before the In and Out one caught her. Then she went shopping at Just Between Friends before going to Mira Loma HS for a play.

Melissa got to play with some awesome trophy necklaces from a marathon runner who is running in all 50 states. But she also got to learn crafts and candies for St. Patrick's Day with one of our favorite bloggers, Momtourage. Amanda always has GREAT tips and idea's to share. 

Cody had a pretty good day as well. Though it was clear he was still under the weather. He got to taste Percy's Pie and Uncle Sams new beer. Plus he got taste Streets of London's new wrap. 

Today was fun and it was GREAT to be back from being gone last weekend. Tomorrow will be very St. Patrick's Day Heavy as will Monday on Good Day as for what is coming up tomorrow on Good Day I leave you with....
