Tattoo Dancing....Today in the News 2/21/2014

Opening Statement:
On Sunday’s Good Day Sacramento a new segment was previewed with Melissa going shopping for Jason as he set to welcome a new baby, along with Amy, Cambi, Tina, Mark, and Ken. Not knowing much about it I thought “Oh this will be good.” On Monday in the 6am hour the FAKE babies started to arrive and the “fun” began. These babies added stress to coworkers, the actual participants, and the viewers of the show. Some viewers vowed to leave the show until the babies did while others made statements as though the FAKE babies are real. I too made a statement that though I hated the idea I would support it. Well fast forward to today. All the data, all the blood, sweat and tears comes to an end. I do not have the results and will not find out until everyone does but my guess in reverse order of who did the best to worse. 6. Jason – I think Jason quit after day 1 after his baby had some issues. 5. Ken – Ken admitted Thursday that he quit. 4. Cambi – She was so stressed out the first day the FAKE baby was lucky it didn't go across the room. 3. Mark – Mark had some issues with his FAKE baby and that could cause his numbers to go down. 2. Amy – After day 1 I would not have put Amy in this spot but watching all week she appeared to do a REALLY Good Job. 1. Tina – I strongly believe Tina won this challenge because she had the sounds down to a science. So to recap who I think wins is…
6. Jason
5. Ken
4. Cambi
3. Mark
2. Amy
1. Tina

Quick Thought:
Fashion, Fun and Tattoo's rule Today in the News and it's a dance party Friday so let's see what took place today on Fox and Good Day Sacramento.

Recap:

Fox40:
Bethany was checking out all things Sac Fashion Week today while an old theater in Auburn may be forced to close to build a Costco with hopes of saving the theater Auburn residents are rallying together. Zohreen saved the day with her segment at Greenwood Elementary who is having a Bike and Pedestrian Safety event.
Centro Cocina Mexicana Restaurant was in the Fox40 kitchen talking all things food and preparing for National Margarita Day on Saturday.
Good Day Sacramento:
430/5am:
In this hour Ken had an interesting fun fact about the way court sides seats work at MSG in New York. Marianne had an interesting food myth in her Daily List. Question of the Day was asked What job did you do before you turned 16. 5am Club Member of the Day was introduced and Today's Show us yours... Tattoo's.

6am:
In this hour Lori was checking out one West Sacramento Kooky Collector who puts together and then saves (protects) jigsaw puzzles (111 in her collection.) Melissa was at Streamers tasting different Mocha's Courtney showed off her killer shoes. Mark talked about Pompeii opening in theaters today.

7am:
In this hour Mark was hanging out with Wild Bill for his Tattoo a thon happening today to benefit UC Davis Children's Hospital and his tattoo Carl got a touch up. Melissa was sampling more Coffee's at Streamers. Marianne talked to Chef Randle from Sellans for a good cause. Marianne will be the Emcee for this Lunch time event so if you want to meet her and help kids at the same time buy your tickets now for the event this Wednesday, Feb, 26, 2014, at 1130-130 Ella Towers. The real life Philomena and her daughter joined via Satellite to talk about their cause as well as the movie getting Oscar nominations. Jason: Truck Tracker needs your ideas for Sunday in the 209 area code. Send them to attention Truck Tracker at goodday@kmaxtv.com. Tomorrow a couple of Highlights include Lego Block Party and SteamPunk Emporium.

8am:
A very busy 8am hour saw Marianne take on Mary Ann in a bowling challenge, Mark continued getting work done at Wild Bills in preparation for the Tattoo a thon tomorrow. Melissa just checking out eye lashes that are extensions while Ken and Julissa talked to Sea World about a new exhibit. Tina talked to an expert about kids with food allergies. Teen's Tunes was played and Dance Party Friday broke out early. The #9amtopic was introduced talking about a LA Restaurant that is charging 3% surcharge to pay for employees health care. This is for sure a HOT Topic.

9am:
In the 9am hour Laura was BACK!!! with Julissa guiding us through the hour and today's topic. Courtney's got a guy who can fix anything. Marianne showed off her bowling skills against Mary Anne. Melissa revealed her Eye Lash extensions and looked really good. Lori was visiting Ernies General Store in Stockton that clearly has EVERYTHING! Mark had a second entertainment report where he revealed Local Legend Gary Gelfand was hired to be on the show American Ninja Warrior. Julissa annoucned Starbucks is offering $1 pastry's on the same day of a previous purchase. Ken had a wonderful Black History month themed Manly Minute about Actor/Director Sydney Poitier and the final question was about what sport fundraiser would you participate in.

Final Thoughts:
Fox had a okay show, I felt like some of the segments went long and started to become boring or I just don't feel good today but whatever the case maybe I started to dose off on the Theater story as well as Eric's story but props to Zohreen for picking me back up with her cool bike helmet on and story she saved the day followed by the wild outfits Bethany previewed for part of Sac Fashion Week that comes to a close Sunday.

All week long we heard the results from FAKE Baby would be revealed but I learned late this morning those results would be pushed back to Monday because the data hasn't been completed or returned yet. The company keeping track is based out of New York and therefore the results should be ready by Monday. My predictions above are still just that and I stick by them.

Good Day was extremely good today. I really like learning the history of the Manly Minute features this month that Ken has spotlighted each Friday. Sorry I missed the boat while covering this month. I should have planned and or thought  better. I'm not a tattoo person but I enjoy looking at the art that those who have them do so Mark with Wild Bill who is already a good friend of the show made me really enjoy these segments.

Though it wasn't a segment it was more a break in the action, I LOVED Courtney's Gold shoes today.
We have now danced our way into the weekend and as we prepare for Cody and Amy to take the controls over for the weekend I wonder if Cody will be well enough to make it in. Let's Hope he is and the weekend will be as great of a show as always.

What is taking place this weekend?

Looking Ahead to what's coming up on Good Day Sacramento:
