Final Thoughts:
The Box Numbers for this week are in and this week to quote Charlton Heston "Those Damn Dirty Apes" took the top spot at the box office taking down Transformers. Dawn of the Planet of The Apes finished with an estimated $73,000,000 while Transformers gets $16,500,000 to finish second. Tammy with $12,910,000 comes in 3rd and 22 Jump Street ($6,700,000) and How To Train Your Dragon 2 ($5,865,000) round out the top 5.
This week Mark at the Movies celebrates it's 250th show. While the lineup has changed over the course of the years. the concept has always remained the same. Mark and his Co-host talk about movies like friends talk about them. His first and many of the episodes co starred Ashley Williams which first aired September 26, 2009.
Let me be one of many to congratulate Mark S Allen and Mark at the Movies congratulations on this wonderful accomplishment. Many have come through but you never forget your first and I know the first show will always be special in my heart. I am forever grateful to Mark and the entire cast and crew for accepting me in their group and allowing and supporting me in what I do for them as a show and hopefully as individual.
This weeks show we met Dave Morales from Houston and Back Stage OL. Dave really broke down why he and others liked Transformers and why it dominated the last 2 weeks. Much like the way we talk about movies Mark and Dave talked about Transformers just having a conversation like normal.
Following Retro Reel Review Mark was joined by Rachel, Brian, Heather, Nina, and Mike. Anna was not present this week and I kind of felt a little empty without her but Nina filled in nicely much like she did last week when Rachel was out. I felt like Nina was more herself this week than she was last week and that was good to see.
Heather talked to Dane Cook about Planes Fire and Rescue. Both her and Mark liked the film and feel Pixar will keep the franchise going. I know for many reasons I really want to see this movies as well.
The BIGGEST Movie talked about this week was Dawn of the Plant of the Apes. Mark headed to the Bay Area to talk to the stars of the film. He also talked with Judy Greer on the Red Carpet in San Francisco.
I wonder how fellow Critic Liam Mayclem feels about more Apes destroying his city of San Francisco like Godzilla did a few weeks ago?
After they talked about Bad Words and Rio 2 being new on DVD this week viewer Timothy Kilkenny entered with a cake that Commerative Episode 250.
For the final time Congratulations Mark and all of Mark at the Movies from all who came and all who have been a part of. You all are a part of something special.
