Ju's On First.... Today in the News 7/10/2014:
Opening Statement:
Today is Throwback Thursday and it is a State Fair Edition. I unfortunately do not have any photos to share for a few reason but the main one is back in my day we didn't have digital. I don't have pictures but I do have a story or 2 about Fairs gone by.
First growing up in New York our State Fair was in Syracuse, NY so where I lived it was about an hours drive. My mom didn't drive at the time so we had to go with my grandparents or my mom's sister. One of my favorite memories of this was my cousins also got to go. She was older by a couple of years and had Leukemia but her and I got along so well together. I loved her, she and I would take care of each other and just have so much fun running ahead, causing trouble.
However the highlight of the fair was going to the Military exhibit with my brother, we could spend hours there. They would always have the coolest new military items from gear to vehicles and what seemed like clockwork as the day would go on we would all pile into the car and have Thunderstorms hit the entire way home.

Favorite Story of the Day: AT&T Park Tour
Today on Good Day Julissa was in San Francisco. But she was not touring the city, she was touring the home of the San Francisco Giants. Julissa got an All Access Pass to tour the field, dugout, stands and more. Julissa was loving her tour and so did I making this My Favorite Story of the Day.
Julissa started the official tour in the Home Dugout. She got to go on the field and then she went underground to check out the Bowling Alley. Yes this exclusive Club that is open to Season Ticket holders has their own underground Bowling Alley.
After leaving Gotham she headed to the new Garden section where they grow vegetables and then serve them at the park.
Her tour continued at the park with a stop at the Social Media Cafe where you can download an app and get great deals as well as seeing your tweets and or Facebook post on the big screen.
This was a truly remarkable segment today and Julissa did a wonderful job showing us all of her Total Access of AT&T Ballpark making this my favorite story of the day.
Daily List:
Today on Marianne's Daily List she talked about 3 Majors that have good payoffs. Elementary School Teachers are very hard to find. but are also very competitive in my opinion. Both my mom and sister work in Elementary Schools and turnover is very high.
Car Czar:
Doug The Car Czar was back for 3 segments today on Good Day. First giving tips on family road trips. A report of the dangers of driving under the Influence of Pot and answered viewer questions.
Bows:
A local High School Student cheerleader wanted to do something different so she created her own line of Hair Bows. This local teen has many different designs and High School Team colors. Bows By Babz.
Apes:
Dawn of the Planet of The Apes opens Friday and today Mark talked about the movie with 4 of it's stars plus he tried his "Hand" at a stunt. See more on this movie this weekend on Mark at the Movies on CW31 and ReelzChannel.
Rob Reiner:
Yesterday Laura and Julissa talked with Michael Douglas, today Mark, Marianne, and Ken talked with Director Rob Reiner. Rob was the very first big celebrity to sit on the set of Good Day over 17 years ago. Good Day will be 19 in August.
Organ Donation:
Marianne was with 3 amazing people today. Conner Cheney who is a liver transplant will be taking part in the Transplant Games in Houston, TX. She also talked to 2 mother who had kids donate organs. Between the 2 kids they donated to 9 children total.
Which bring me to my point. I had to face this decision in 2009 when I had my surgery and decided that if I can't go on living someone else should be given the chance. I don't know what they would take from me if/when that comes up but whatever it is I hope it goes to a child, a husband, father, or mother so that other families don't suffer. Dryer Fire:
Today Melissa was with a local man who had a dryer fire and she brought the Dryer Vent Wizards with them to show how to prevent Dryer Fires in your home.

Thrifty Thursday:
Gina from Thrift Town was out of her lab and into the studio showing Laura how to make a baseball lamp. This is a perfect gift for your little leaguer

In today's edition of News of the Weird Mark talked about Britney Spears singing without her autotune. Please don't ever. Britney you're a really good dancer who moves your lips to music. Just keep it that way because you're really bad. Amy Carabba sings better.

Tina drives in the car each day and yesterday her and Dave took pictures with Sun Flowers. Today she had driver Scott Holcomb who does voices/accents that are so funny he needs a segment on the weekend show to express his full talent. Plus he sent back some amazing pictures of the sun.

Marianne: Transplant Games of America. Conner Cheney who received a liver transplant at age 4 months is now 15 years old and will be competing. Marianne also talked to the mother of a donor. Nicole Perez donated her daughters organs after she passed. Deanna Santana also donated her sons organs when her passed at age 17. Scott saved 5 lives and Marina saved 4.

Favorite Story of the Day: AT&T Park Tour
Today on Good Day Julissa was in San Francisco. But she was not touring the city, she was touring the home of the San Francisco Giants. Julissa got an All Access Pass to tour the field, dugout, stands and more. Julissa was loving her tour and so did I making this My Favorite Story of the Day.
Julissa started the official tour in the Home Dugout. She got to go on the field and then she went underground to check out the Bowling Alley. Yes this exclusive Club that is open to Season Ticket holders has their own underground Bowling Alley.
After leaving Gotham she headed to the new Garden section where they grow vegetables and then serve them at the park.
Her tour continued at the park with a stop at the Social Media Cafe where you can download an app and get great deals as well as seeing your tweets and or Facebook post on the big screen.
This was a truly remarkable segment today and Julissa did a wonderful job showing us all of her Total Access of AT&T Ballpark making this my favorite story of the day.

Today on Marianne's Daily List she talked about 3 Majors that have good payoffs. Elementary School Teachers are very hard to find. but are also very competitive in my opinion. Both my mom and sister work in Elementary Schools and turnover is very high.
Car Czar:
Doug The Car Czar was back for 3 segments today on Good Day. First giving tips on family road trips. A report of the dangers of driving under the Influence of Pot and answered viewer questions.
Bows:
A local High School Student cheerleader wanted to do something different so she created her own line of Hair Bows. This local teen has many different designs and High School Team colors. Bows By Babz.
Apes:
Dawn of the Planet of The Apes opens Friday and today Mark talked about the movie with 4 of it's stars plus he tried his "Hand" at a stunt. See more on this movie this weekend on Mark at the Movies on CW31 and ReelzChannel.
Rob Reiner:
Yesterday Laura and Julissa talked with Michael Douglas, today Mark, Marianne, and Ken talked with Director Rob Reiner. Rob was the very first big celebrity to sit on the set of Good Day over 17 years ago. Good Day will be 19 in August.
Organ Donation:
Marianne was with 3 amazing people today. Conner Cheney who is a liver transplant will be taking part in the Transplant Games in Houston, TX. She also talked to 2 mother who had kids donate organs. Between the 2 kids they donated to 9 children total.
Which bring me to my point. I had to face this decision in 2009 when I had my surgery and decided that if I can't go on living someone else should be given the chance. I don't know what they would take from me if/when that comes up but whatever it is I hope it goes to a child, a husband, father, or mother so that other families don't suffer. Dryer Fire:
Today Melissa was with a local man who had a dryer fire and she brought the Dryer Vent Wizards with them to show how to prevent Dryer Fires in your home.

Gina from Thrift Town was out of her lab and into the studio showing Laura how to make a baseball lamp. This is a perfect gift for your little leaguer

In today's edition of News of the Weird Mark talked about Britney Spears singing without her autotune. Please don't ever. Britney you're a really good dancer who moves your lips to music. Just keep it that way because you're really bad. Amy Carabba sings better.

Tina drives in the car each day and yesterday her and Dave took pictures with Sun Flowers. Today she had driver Scott Holcomb who does voices/accents that are so funny he needs a segment on the weekend show to express his full talent. Plus he sent back some amazing pictures of the sun.

This restaurant takes Mexican and Korean Cuisine and puts them together. They also have shaved ice and Melissa was in Davis checking it all out.

In today's Manly Minute Ken talked about 5 things to do when a friend needs you after a loss who is grieving.
