#RememberingRalph.... Today in the News 3/25/2014: Opening Statement As you know in News things can change in a heartbeat, much like writing Today in the News it can to change should events warrant. Today's opening was about dogs but while I was at the doctor I heard the sad news of a passing of a legend. Many of you may not know that a group of owners got together to take their football league to join the NFL many years ago. One of those teams to join the NFL from the AFL was the Buffalo Bills owned by Ralph Wilson Jr. Mr. Wilson came to Buffalo because he believed in the city and thought they could support a professional franchise. He was right. I have been a fan since 1973-74 after growing up in the Buffalo area. I now live in Sacramento, CA but I have never stopped loving this team. Today I am sad to report Mr. Wilson has passed at the age of 95. I am struggling to find the right words because I don't know if I can find them. I am so sadden and heartbroken. ...

Sacramento Kings logo (Photo credit: Wikipedia) Today in the News Special Report: Sacramento Kings Breaking News. Today it was announced that Chris Hansen from Seattle who tried unsuccessfully to purchase the Kings funded a large sum of money to stop the building of a new downtown arena here in Sacramento. The group STOP received $80K from Mr. Hansen to help them gather signatures to stop the building of a new arena for the new ownership group. I have a message for Mr. Hansen: Shame on you! How DARE you try to play dirty with us. With our city, team and Mayor. Have you no shame? Growing up and loving the Buffalo Bills I understand the passion & fight with the fans who live & die with this team much like we the fans of Sacramento do. Yes you have passion but your passion is not love of team but love of money, & greed. You can & will NEVER beat this cities passion for this team. Yes we get upset when we don't win but we NEVER quit.  We beat you once fair & s...

Today in the News: Special Report: Media Vs. Social Media: The Good, Bad, & Ugly:

Buffalo Bills logo (Photo credit: Wikipedia) Today in the News: Special Report: Media Vs. Social Media: The Good, Bad, & Ugly: The early years News outlets only had a small amount of ways to release Breaking News. It was either special break ins on TV, Radio, or even Newspapers. As time went on and technology changed the news adapted but still kept it close to the old. When my parents where kids the family all huddled around their black & white (some had color) small screen TV's and radio for breaking news. When I was a kid growing up in Upstate NY (Syracuse /Buffalo) area the paper came twice a day. In the morning & an updated version in the afternoon. When the Internet came into the picture it meant the media could also use that as a tool to extend stories, Breaking stories etc. A few years ago Facebook changed the world. Every media, non-media person had an account. But with change also comes the bad & ugly because now the public could voice their opini...
