The Day After.... Today in the News Saturday Edition 7/5/2014
Opening Statement:
In 25+ years my brother has been in the Fire Service yesterday's 4th of July may have been one of the busiest in years with fires in the Sacramento area. Several small fires burned as well as big ones in Sacramento, Roseville, Dixon, Woodland and Solano County. The 2 biggest ones came from Collinsville, CA. This small town with only 16 homes in Solano County lost up to at least 7 of them devastating the entire community.
The other big fire was at Cal Expo where we saw Sean Bennett reporting from all Friday morning for the Firework show. Raging Water Park had patricians raging with fear as the fire raced toward them. burning over 40 acres canceling the Sac Republic Soccer game and almost canceling the Firework show.
I really hope if next year is like this year more County's take the same action of San Joaquin County and banning firework shows but take a step further and say no selling either. At the time I am writing this Opening the scanner was non-stop and the fireworks were too.

I've had the pleasure in seeing how hard Lori works out at the gym because she and I go to the same one and see each other time to time but until today I have never seen her work as hard as she did at Orange Theory Fitness in Roseville. This gym promises you will feel your workout and the calories burning off days after. I took one look at this workout today and I would be unable to make it but I know others can be like Lori and do a good job with it.
Yard Sale with a Cause:
Had Lori and Good Day not covered the Orange Fitness today this would have been my favorite story. A Rocklin girl is giving back to a fallen friend who was lost to cancer. So today and tomorrow this yard sale with a cause will benefit the Cancer Society. Everything raised will be donated to Cancer. They even had an old school desk for just $30. So a GREAT Set of Deals for a GREAT Cause.
Farmers Market:
Heather started her day in Modesto at the Vintage Faire Mall Farmers Market getting a Cooking Demo. This Market is now open every Saturday with cooking demos and more.
Apple Turnovers:
Tina was in Folsom at Karen's Bakery where.she was learning to make Apple Turnovers. Today is National Apple Turnover Day so it's only fitting that she was there. However it was something Jason said that caught my ears. Jack in the Box once sold Apple Turnovers. I do not remember that at all.
Produce Man:
Michael Marks was in studio talking peaches today. He even made a peach desert that Cody enjoyed. I bet Cody enjoyed this desert more than the Loaded Dorito that he ate the other day.
Butter:
Mama Sattva Ghee is a new healthy butter that you can find at Farmers Markets and Sacramento Food Co-op. The website appears to have been so popular after India's appearance on Good Day it caused the website to crash. To fully understand what this product was I borrowed their description for you all to read rather than me trying to explain it.
Hats and Taps:
This lovely dance group appeared on Good Day Once before and today they came back to perform 2 classic songs as they tapped. The first song was Bugle Boy and then they performed the Military Hymns on the Good Day Stage.
Mike E Winfield:
Mike E Winfield one of the funniest comedians returned home to Sacramento today so he can perform tonight at the Punchline Comedy Club. He stopped by to talk to Amy and Cody today on Good Day.
Boutiques:
Tina and Heather both went to do some shopping today. First Tina was at Eco Chic in Vacaville where all their products are Eco Friendly. Then Heather went to Her Royal Highness Boutique which is in Rags to Riches on West Main in Turlock.
Both stores have GREAT deals to choose from.
Mr. Roboto:
We first met the Jesuit Robotic Team in June before they went to the National Championship, today they came in studio to show off what they won and talk about their winning project. These kids are smart.

Tina was checking out Natty B's and baking trail mix cookies where everything is homemade and from scratch. Though I am diabetic I want to someday try Tina's bake goods. They always look so delicious
Heather Goes to Barber:
Today Heather was in Stockton checking out an Old School Barber today on Good Day. They even have one barber that is in his 80's Cal-Pine has been an establishment for years in Stockton.
Royal Roots:
Joe from Royal Roots was back getting us ready for the A's Vs Giants 4 game series starting on Monday with his classic and new line of Royal Roots Apparel.
Painted Wall:
Today Lori was in Roseville checking out a new ceramics place. Sac City Ceramics is now open and Lori even put her hand print on the wall to celebrate her being there.
Tomorrow:
Today is now down so we can get ready for Sunday's Good Day. Nina will be back checking out a new water park, We'll Ask Eleanor Hollywood Gossip, and Tina will be Dishin again so turn in at 7am-11am with Cody and Amy for all this and much more plus they celebrate the $1 bill... What is that? I never seen one. They come in my hands and fly away and all I am ever left with is pennies :)

Hats and Taps performed another song on the Good Day Stage. Tina was making trial mix from scratch. Mike E. Winfield was in studio prior to his show tonight at Punchline in Sacramento at 8pm. Heather was continuing to check out vintage boutiques in Turlock and Lori was finger painting on the wall at Sac City Ceramics, a new business that allows you to create art, paint and more where she put her hand print on the wall. Joe from Royal Roots was back with more A's and Giants apparel.

I've had the pleasure in seeing how hard Lori works out at the gym because she and I go to the same one and see each other time to time but until today I have never seen her work as hard as she did at Orange Theory Fitness in Roseville. This gym promises you will feel your workout and the calories burning off days after. I took one look at this workout today and I would be unable to make it but I know others can be like Lori and do a good job with it.
Yard Sale with a Cause:
Had Lori and Good Day not covered the Orange Fitness today this would have been my favorite story. A Rocklin girl is giving back to a fallen friend who was lost to cancer. So today and tomorrow this yard sale with a cause will benefit the Cancer Society. Everything raised will be donated to Cancer. They even had an old school desk for just $30. So a GREAT Set of Deals for a GREAT Cause.
Farmers Market:
Heather started her day in Modesto at the Vintage Faire Mall Farmers Market getting a Cooking Demo. This Market is now open every Saturday with cooking demos and more.
Apple Turnovers:
Tina was in Folsom at Karen's Bakery where.she was learning to make Apple Turnovers. Today is National Apple Turnover Day so it's only fitting that she was there. However it was something Jason said that caught my ears. Jack in the Box once sold Apple Turnovers. I do not remember that at all.
Produce Man:
Michael Marks was in studio talking peaches today. He even made a peach desert that Cody enjoyed. I bet Cody enjoyed this desert more than the Loaded Dorito that he ate the other day.
Butter:
Mama Sattva Ghee is a new healthy butter that you can find at Farmers Markets and Sacramento Food Co-op. The website appears to have been so popular after India's appearance on Good Day it caused the website to crash. To fully understand what this product was I borrowed their description for you all to read rather than me trying to explain it.
Hats and Taps:
This lovely dance group appeared on Good Day Once before and today they came back to perform 2 classic songs as they tapped. The first song was Bugle Boy and then they performed the Military Hymns on the Good Day Stage.
Mike E Winfield:
Mike E Winfield one of the funniest comedians returned home to Sacramento today so he can perform tonight at the Punchline Comedy Club. He stopped by to talk to Amy and Cody today on Good Day.
Boutiques:
Tina and Heather both went to do some shopping today. First Tina was at Eco Chic in Vacaville where all their products are Eco Friendly. Then Heather went to Her Royal Highness Boutique which is in Rags to Riches on West Main in Turlock.
Both stores have GREAT deals to choose from.
Mr. Roboto:
We first met the Jesuit Robotic Team in June before they went to the National Championship, today they came in studio to show off what they won and talk about their winning project. These kids are smart.

Tina was checking out Natty B's and baking trail mix cookies where everything is homemade and from scratch. Though I am diabetic I want to someday try Tina's bake goods. They always look so delicious
Heather Goes to Barber:
Today Heather was in Stockton checking out an Old School Barber today on Good Day. They even have one barber that is in his 80's Cal-Pine has been an establishment for years in Stockton.
Royal Roots:
Joe from Royal Roots was back getting us ready for the A's Vs Giants 4 game series starting on Monday with his classic and new line of Royal Roots Apparel.
Painted Wall:
Today Lori was in Roseville checking out a new ceramics place. Sac City Ceramics is now open and Lori even put her hand print on the wall to celebrate her being there.
Tomorrow:
Today is now down so we can get ready for Sunday's Good Day. Nina will be back checking out a new water park, We'll Ask Eleanor Hollywood Gossip, and Tina will be Dishin again so turn in at 7am-11am with Cody and Amy for all this and much more plus they celebrate the $1 bill... What is that? I never seen one. They come in my hands and fly away and all I am ever left with is pennies :)
