Surprise For Aaron.... Today in the News 7/23/2014:
Opening Statement:
I had another opening statement prepared that I will use for tomorrow but after finding out that Batman turns 75 I started thinking about the old shows and how they always had cameos by big stars show up at the window as Batman and Robin would climb the wall. During my search for one of those stars I came across this 12 minute video of the cameos.
It was a way to look back and remember the days of old watching Batman as a kid. No I wasn't around at the time the original showed air but I got to watch in syndication and you still can today on TVLand.
Enjoy the video and find out what is taking place Today in the News.....

Final Recap:
Favorite Story of the Day: Surprise For Aaron
Today's favorite story was going to be about Batman turning 75 until our friend Aaron Negrete came to Good Day Sacramento to talk about his recent trip to New York to see the premier of Transformers so he thought anyway.
We first met Aaron when he was teamed with Mobility Works to try and win a new van for he and his family.
Aaron born with no arms or legs gets around in a wheelchair, swims in a pool and does so many other things kids his age love to do.
At the time Aaron was heading to New York it was revealed his family did not win the van so enter Good Day Sacramento Producer/Show Booker Alyson Schultz who knew of Aaron the first time we met him. With help from her, Mark S Allen, Dan Kokotas of Greater Sacramento Car Dealers, Alan Anderson of Shriners Hospital, Chris Toth of Mobility Works, and of course Good Day Sacramento all coming together as one teamed up and got Aaron and his family the van that they needed.
Not only did they surprise Aaron and family with the van the tax, license, and insurance are all paid for.
This was such a real moment seeing the joy on everyone's faces, tweets and comments from Good Day Sacramento fans the tears that this moment brought this morning. At the time of writing I still have tears rolling. This was so beautiful and so special and once again there is no better TV news show than Good Day Sacramento. What they do for not only me but for so many others is remarkable and that is why Surprise For Aaron is today's favorite story of the day.
Thank you everyone at Good Day Sacramento for everything. It's moments like this that last a lifetime. http://youtu.be/_-4OTR_0M5U
Happy Birthday Batman:
Batman turns 75 years old today. This is when the first comic rolled out and developed into what we know today. From the 60's TV show with Adam West and the new movie coming next year with Ben Affleck Batman and his legacy lives on. Today Good Day celebrated the Cape Crusader with Low Budget Batman patrolling the streets of Sacramento and of course he checked out the Farmers Market because that's what Low Budget Batman does.
USA Gymnast:
Today Julissa was a local West Sacramento gym meeting up with Landon Wu. Landon was given the honor of making the Future Stars of the USA Gymnast. Landon, 11 years old just came back from the Olympic Training Center. You could see Landon in 2020 Olympics according to his coach.
Recycled Art:
Today Julissa was at the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce where the Recycle Art Exhibit called Upcycle is taking place now through October 10, 2014. They have a lot of different items but I think my favorite is the City made out of old boxes like from Ice Tea, Cereal, etc.
Bike Mister:
A father and son teamed up to help bike riders everywhere. To keep you cool this father and son developed and made the Spruzza Mist. What is the Spruzza Mist? It is a device to hook onto your bike that will keep you cool while riding. For only $59.95 you can own this device and either order it from the website or go to Bicycle Plus 705 Gold Lake Dr, Ste 320, Folsom, CA 95630 9163558901 Near Karen's Bakery. http://www.onlinecycling.com/
She's A Beauty:
Beauty Expert Mickey Williams was in the building first giving beauty tips for women with Marianne but then came back in the 9am hour with Ken for beauty tips for men.
White Trash:
Two bothers, Michael and Thomas Kearns, teamed up to write a book about their life. "Growing Up White Trash" is now available on their website or Amazon.
Dishin:
On this already special Good Day it was also Wednesday aka Dishin Day. This weeks feature was Fentons Creamery in Vacaville. Today's Dishin had VIP Guests in Aaron and his family.
Good Day Nutshell:
Keep Calm:
Today's Daily List with Marianne she gave 3 tips how to stay calm. One is to go back your roots.
Daily Joe:
Marianne's Daily Joe was back after missing 2 days this week where she showed a girl who had her nose taken from her father and was not happy until he gave it back.
Weird:
In the News of the Weird today Mark had a meeting to go to so Batman stepped in and did it. Batman doing News of the Weird is pretty weird but then it is Good Day so perhaps it really isn't.
Behind the Scenes:
As you know I love going behind the scene and seeing pictures of behind the scenes. Here are 3 pictures that show you just that. From Saturday Cody and Amy hard at work during commercial breaks. From Monday Allison in control booth. From today Tina spying on Cody in the weather center.
Spoiled:
Though I have no kids and probably never will I do have a niece and several nephews so it is hard not to spoil them. However growing up in a single parent home I understand the value of money and what it takes to get special treats. So today's Manly Minute Ken talked about how not to spoil your kids including them making them work of what they receive and that I can totally relate to.
