Hot Doggin..... Today in the News 7/2/2014:
Opening Statement:
Each day we see the on air talent and how good they look. Today in the Opening I am dedicating this spot to the GREAT Cameramen of Good Day Sacramento. Without these guys the on air talent would never be seen and we would never get amazing videos, pictures and stories to tell through film. In my opinion Good Day Camera Guys are the BEST in the business but I know from chatting with some of these guys the other station camera guys work just as hard. But what makes Good Day different is one hour they could be in Lodi the next hour they could be in Roseville. One hour they might have Sean Bennett with them and the next it might be Cody Stark. So they are always working and moving throughout the 4-5 1/2 hours of the show.
Before I continue I know I am going to forget someone so please know this is not a slight I just don't have all the names.
The camera's in studio are mostly ran by remote control however they do have a Hand Held and a JIB Cam. Dale Patterson, Julian Lang and Julian Soto are the normal ones to run cameras in the studio. Julian Lang is now one of the show directors but you can see him with a camera in hand from time to time. Dale runs camera a lot on the weekend show but he also does during the week when he is not in the booth. Julian Soto is a very busy cameraman. Not only does he do most of the studio shooting he also shoots for and serves as the Social Media Guru for Mark at the Movies.
Terry (Hagz) is one of the BEST cameramen in the field for Good Day. Terry works with all of the feature reporters and does a GREAT Job. Scott Zentner is seen with Melissa a lot. Also included in this GREAT Group is Scott Holcombe. David McCain (Fellow Dr. Who Fan) Steve Garcia all of whom work with most feature reporters, and finally Dave G aka Camera Guy Dave. Dave is usually the one driving Tina around each morning.

Today my favorite story of the day comes from Good Day's Kristin Marshall. Kristine teamed up with Swift Water Rescue teams from Sac City Fire to remind people all of the boating safety tips you should take not only this 4th of July Weekend but always. They are well equipped to safe your life but if they don't have to safe any then their message of water safety is complete.
But firefighters know they will always have to rescue someone so today they showed Kristin and us all the equipment they carry for Swift Water rescues as well as fighting fire in the event of a boat fire or grass fire with a river access.
Hot Dog Month:
July is National Hotdog Month so today's Good Day Sacramento talked a lot about hotdogs.
To start things off this months Grub Run supplier is Weinerschnizel. So you and 24 of your coworkers can enter to win lunch with them and with Tina. They have a large variety of hotdogs to offer including the classic dog, Chili dog, bacon and cheese dog as well as corn dogs.
If that was not enough hotdog for you in Marianne's Daily List she talked about what your hotdog toppings say about you. If you love the classic ketchup and mustard then you are old school. Or if you ask Ken you're a child. I wonder what I am with ketchup, mustard and no bun? No bun for Heath reasons I might add.
One of today's show us yours was your favorite hotdog topper and the Good Day Sacramento viewers delivered with some delicious looking hotdogs.
But wait that's not all the hotdogs from today's show. Nope our friends at Hook & Ladder are now not only serving gourmet hotdogs but also adding hotdogs to cocktails. The GREAT Chris Tucker from Hook & Ladder created drinks to go with these hotdogs including a Hotdog Bloody Mary where he puts a hotdog in the drink to give it a different flavor.
So today the was a Hotdog kind of day on Good Day.
Self Serve Wine:
A new Self Serve Wine spot is open and today on Good Day Julissa was in Davis checking out all the wines Vini Wine Bar has to offer. They have all kinds of wine including chocolate flavor and the former Basketball Player Yao Ming who has a wine.
Loaded Doritos:
Today Doritos and 7-11 team up to launch the Loaded Dorito. The Dorito is loaded with stuff cheese in the middle and served hot. For just $1.99 for four you can now get your hands on these treats. Based on facial expressions and actions by the crew who tasted these treats they may not be all that. Cody said they are salty and Marianne agreed. Ken who could not wait to taste them turned down a second attempt.
Date Night Sitter:
Lydia Burkhard owner of Date Night Sitter brings, games, books, and fun activities for kids to do when mom and dad or mom or dad want to get away for the evening. Date Night Sitters also has craft friendly activities for your kids.
100 Dates:
Elise Monero in San Francisco is trying a new adventure this Summer. After breaking up with a man of 2+ years she decided to go on 100 dates this summer. Good Luck to her I just hope she doesn't get hurt nor the guys she goes on the dates with.

Today is Wednesday so it's Dishin Day with Tina and this weeks featured restaurant was High Hand Cafe / Nursery. The Cafe located in Loomis, CA gets all their produce from their own nursery.

Today Amy was in Roseville at Halo Salon checking out a new type of hairstyle called Splashlight hair. This style uses laser to color your hair. I wasn't sure at first but when I saw the final result I was pretty impressed.
Allergies:
Mercy Hospital is trying a new program to fight against food allergies by feeding the allergy. I am not so sure about this but I trust Mercy has done studies and would not make this public had those studies proved otherwise. DO NOT try this on your own consult your family doctor before doing anything.
Beam Me Up:
Star Trek Actor George Takei joined to talk about his new show coming to Sundance Channel. George is well known as Mr. Sulu on Star Trek and very open about his sexuallity. He talked about that as well and all he does for Gay Rights.

Boxing Camp:

Today my favorite story of the day comes from Good Day's Kristin Marshall. Kristine teamed up with Swift Water Rescue teams from Sac City Fire to remind people all of the boating safety tips you should take not only this 4th of July Weekend but always. They are well equipped to safe your life but if they don't have to safe any then their message of water safety is complete.
But firefighters know they will always have to rescue someone so today they showed Kristin and us all the equipment they carry for Swift Water rescues as well as fighting fire in the event of a boat fire or grass fire with a river access.
Hot Dog Month:
July is National Hotdog Month so today's Good Day Sacramento talked a lot about hotdogs.
To start things off this months Grub Run supplier is Weinerschnizel. So you and 24 of your coworkers can enter to win lunch with them and with Tina. They have a large variety of hotdogs to offer including the classic dog, Chili dog, bacon and cheese dog as well as corn dogs.
If that was not enough hotdog for you in Marianne's Daily List she talked about what your hotdog toppings say about you. If you love the classic ketchup and mustard then you are old school. Or if you ask Ken you're a child. I wonder what I am with ketchup, mustard and no bun? No bun for Heath reasons I might add.
One of today's show us yours was your favorite hotdog topper and the Good Day Sacramento viewers delivered with some delicious looking hotdogs.
But wait that's not all the hotdogs from today's show. Nope our friends at Hook & Ladder are now not only serving gourmet hotdogs but also adding hotdogs to cocktails. The GREAT Chris Tucker from Hook & Ladder created drinks to go with these hotdogs including a Hotdog Bloody Mary where he puts a hotdog in the drink to give it a different flavor.
So today the was a Hotdog kind of day on Good Day.
Self Serve Wine:
A new Self Serve Wine spot is open and today on Good Day Julissa was in Davis checking out all the wines Vini Wine Bar has to offer. They have all kinds of wine including chocolate flavor and the former Basketball Player Yao Ming who has a wine.
Loaded Doritos:
Today Doritos and 7-11 team up to launch the Loaded Dorito. The Dorito is loaded with stuff cheese in the middle and served hot. For just $1.99 for four you can now get your hands on these treats. Based on facial expressions and actions by the crew who tasted these treats they may not be all that. Cody said they are salty and Marianne agreed. Ken who could not wait to taste them turned down a second attempt.
Date Night Sitter:
Lydia Burkhard owner of Date Night Sitter brings, games, books, and fun activities for kids to do when mom and dad or mom or dad want to get away for the evening. Date Night Sitters also has craft friendly activities for your kids.
100 Dates:
Elise Monero in San Francisco is trying a new adventure this Summer. After breaking up with a man of 2+ years she decided to go on 100 dates this summer. Good Luck to her I just hope she doesn't get hurt nor the guys she goes on the dates with.

Today is Wednesday so it's Dishin Day with Tina and this weeks featured restaurant was High Hand Cafe / Nursery. The Cafe located in Loomis, CA gets all their produce from their own nursery.

Today Amy was in Roseville at Halo Salon checking out a new type of hairstyle called Splashlight hair. This style uses laser to color your hair. I wasn't sure at first but when I saw the final result I was pretty impressed.
Allergies:
Mercy Hospital is trying a new program to fight against food allergies by feeding the allergy. I am not so sure about this but I trust Mercy has done studies and would not make this public had those studies proved otherwise. DO NOT try this on your own consult your family doctor before doing anything.
Beam Me Up:
Star Trek Actor George Takei joined to talk about his new show coming to Sundance Channel. George is well known as Mr. Sulu on Star Trek and very open about his sexuallity. He talked about that as well and all he does for Gay Rights.

Yesterday it was Quinoa Chips today it was more chips as Courtney is on a healthy Potato chip fix in today's edition of Check This out that leave you guilt free.
Boxing Camp:
An Elk Grove Gym, UFC Gym in Elk Grove is holding a boxing camp for kids. This is a great way to keep your kids active and off the couch for summer.
