I'm With The Band.... Today in the News 8/8/2014:



Opening Statement:
The Journey Part 2:
 
 
Yesterday on Good Day the #9amtopic was talking about A new study that indicates those who slim down, are almost twice as likely to feel sad, lonely and lethargic than those who stay the same weight or gain weight. Researchers at University College London looked at close to 2,000 overweight and obese men and women aged 50 and over. The study concluded people should not expect weight loss to equal happiness.
 
 
 
Your kidding right? No I am not 50+ but I am 45 and when I was 40 I was not happy. I was miserable. I weighed 500 pounds because I tried to commit suicide by eating because I wasn't happy. I know who did this study based off what the article said but what idiot got paid to do this. I'm not saying people who are heavy are not happy I am saying as a person I was not and learning all the things I have over the years being 500 pounds is not good for you. I am not here to tell people how they should feel or look but this study is hurtful to me because had it not been for my journey that brought me to Good Day I may never had the chance at happiness again because as Cody, my Best Friend and family can confirm I was close to death. I couldn't walk, I couldn't breath. I had all kinds of medical issues some that left and others that have stayed with me as a result of being heavy for so many year. 
 
 
 
I may never be back to normal medical wise because of all the damage done of being overweight but I can promise you I will never go down the road on my Journey that I once went down because yes I still suffer from stress and depression and it has nothing to do with my weight but it has everything to do with my tumor and that I have a fear of not being accepted because I never went to me and now I try to hard and think am I being accepted or did I over step my boundries. 
 
 
 
But today is Friday so lets have some fun and get ready to Dance into the weekend with Cody and the rest of the Good Day Weekend crew on this Friday edition of Today in the News....

Final Recap:
Favorite Story of the Day: One Time at Band Camp:
One time at Band Camp Cody went to Placer High in Auburn to check out all they learn and of course have fun with them. This band has been in place for 110 years. No the students are not that old. Cody who clearly missed his calling as a clarinet player took Mini Cody with him to lead the band in some songs and dancing. They practice 5 hours a day for a week. 



It was this outstanding reporting from Mini Cody that makes this story my favorite story of the day.

Comedian / Actress Aida Rodriguez is appearing at Punchline Comedy Club tonight - Sunday. Today she stopped by to talk to Mark and Cody.
 
 
 
Infotainment:
Infotainment Mark talked about a campaign to get Weird Al as the Halftime show at Super Bowl 49 in Arizona. He also talked about Ninja Turtles in theaters today too. and Todd and Nina announced Breast Concert EVER benefiting Breast Cancer. Tickets go on sale Monday and the event is 9/29/2014.

 
 
Hey 19:
Today one of the GREATEST News Personalities was hired to take part in a new show called Good Day Sacramento. The show launched on August 14th but Marianne was hired 19 years ago today 8/8/2014. Happy 19th Birthday Marianne. Much more on the Good Day 19 next week as we drawn closer. In fact my opening statements will be something Good Day related as the build up near next Thursday. 
 

 
Step Up:
Sacramento's own Ryan Guzman joined in studio to talk about his new movie in theaters today Step Up All In. Then Ryan and Mark went to Cesar Chevaz park to team up with Kast Academy for some dancing in the park.
 
 

Stockton-Con:
Comic book lovers and anime lovers will unite this weekend at Stockton-Con and today the event organizer talked about it on Good Day.
 


Harry Potter:
He's not Harry Potter any longer but today on Good Day Daniel Radcliffe talked about his new movie What If opening in theaters today.

Tonight Tina talked about an event taking place called Blazin Saddles .

Courtney was with a group of teens and moms at Macy's in Roseville. Then Macy's surprized all of them with the gift all their purchases today on the house. 



Giraffe:
Kristin was at the Sacramento Zoo delivering gifts to the news of a new baby giraffe coming to the zoo soon.

The sub for today's Manly Minute was Mark and he gave 4 tips for Newlyweds including checking in and date night.
