Challenges.... Today in the News 8/21/2014:



Opening Statement:
As you know the #IceBucketChallenge / Donation for ALS is taking over like a storm. I love so many celebrities, and local talents are getting involved now in both the challenge but stepping up and donating the money as well I fee like it started when I first learned of it when Lori, Cody, Amy, Cambi's Mom, Hunter from Now 100.5 with Nina, Kevin and Kat all did it on the Good Day Weekend show. 



But now so many others are getting involved. I am not going to talk about the national attention but will be talking about the local celebrities who have taken part recently. KSFM 102.5 Morning Crew, Mark S. Allen, Courtney Dempsey, Ashley Williams, Stefanie Cruz, Lisa Gonzalez, Kellie DeMarco and I am sure their have been many more. I am so proud of all of you for stepping up, raising awareness and a nice donation to ALS.



I love the new innovative ways Courtney and Mark came up with during the California Drought to get it covered.

Favorite Story of the Day: Uncle Gene:
Today's Favorite Story of the Day was the return of Uncle Gene. Today he was at Arden Fair Mall talking about the benefits of walking and the Senior Walking group that walks Arden Fair Mall. I don't what was better, hearing the benefits or Mark S. Allen bringing back Uncle Gene. Wait yes I do. It was Mark bringing back Uncle Gene. It was hilarious. For no other reason this was my favorite story of the day. 



Doug The Car Czar:
Today's Thursday so Doug was talking cars. Today he took the show to Dixon checking out the new Kia K900 and then answered viewer questions. You can see his show every Sunday at 11am following Good Day Weekend. This weekend he washes Mark's Car.



Guac Off: 
An event taking place this weekend is in it's 9th year. Today on Good Day Julissa was checking out the Guac Off going head to head with the chef from Shady Lady making the green treat. 



Fashion Trends In or Out:
At the end of the 7am hour Courtney showed 3 examples of fashion that should be in or out. Most agree the mom jean shorts should be out.



Stockton PD Fitness:
Stockton Police are promoting Fitness with a Fitness challenge today on Lori took the challenge. 



Helmet Hair:
The creator of this new devices was in studio today to help grow hair back by wearing a helmet that uses lasers. Ken tried it on and he could feel anything. however it does get warm but that is just the lasers working. 



Grubbing:
The August Grub winner was announced today. This months winner was Fleet Pride of West Sacramento.

Jason dressed as Batman to check out the Yolo Basin Walk and to learn about Bats.

We have seen Hair Wars now we have Hair and Fashion Battle taking part this weekend. Courtney was checking out the preview today. The event is taking place Saturday at 5pm at Scottish Rite Temple

Gina from Thrift Town was back with ideas to decorate using crafting tape. 



10 x 10:
Today Mark talked to 3 people behind the 10 x 10 Film Festival. taking place this weekend. Good Day's and Mark at the Movies Mike Mechanick has an acting role in the film and for those that don't know Mike is a really good actor who does a lot of stage acting in plays.

On today's Daily Joe Marianne talked about a kid that had his ear taken by his dad and lost it until his dad but it back on. Also pets love furniture but not all furniture loves pets so she showed pet furniture fails. 



Manly Minute:
We all see it and today Ken talked about Bad Gym Fashion. Men who wear short shorts or Meggings. However he forgot about the guy who wears chaps around the locker room. Why Why Why? I will never be able to unsee that. 



Tomorrow:
Tomorrow we bring our dancing shoes and dance in to the weekend for Cody and Amy and the Weekend crew. Join in on the fun at 430am and who knows maybe Cody, Ken, and Courtney will dance at 439 again and a new trend will be born like the weekend 838 stretch.
