Opening Statement:
Today's #GoodDay19 Flashback is remembering the GREAT Cody Stark.
Who is Cody Stark:
Cody was born in Alabama. Yes Cody graciously took his sister to prom after the gentleman she was going to go with broke her heart prior to. Cody did attend Auburn University however he left prior to graduating to pursue a different adventure.
Cody was at one time a Jungle Cruise Skipper at Disney World and yes he knows deep dark Disney secrets. Cody lived in England for awhile before getting his first weather job in Alabama at a small station. Cody worked in several markets prior to landing in Indianapolis but it was Good Day Sacramento that he wanted. 9 years ago that dream drew closer with him hired at CBS13 in the Weather Department. Eventually that day would come and after the departure of Chris Burrous Cody would step in as main host of Good Day Weekend, at that time the show was airing at 6am-10am. He has seen his share of Co-host in his tenure of the weekend show starting off with Taryn Winter Brill, when Taryn left Kelly Chapman, Jackie Trancedia, Lori Wallace, Mark Mathis, Melissa Cabral, and now Amy Carabba. But through all the changes at Co-Anchor Cody has made the weekend show what it is today and took a show that was good and made it better. Cody has introduced the 838 stretch, Birthday Nod, #GDSJustCurious. Cody has broke twitter on several occasions including #IronBowlCody, #ShouldhavebeenthereCody to name a few. Cody also takes time during the week to tweet TV shows which is where #HalfCow was born during the live tweets of the CBS Show Under the Doom and trust me his tweet up during this show makes it better. We have about 50 or so people who join us each week via Twitter and Facebook.
One final thought about Cody Stark. As many of you know Cody is a very "Real" person and getting to know Cody as I have and do I am lucky to call him friend. Cody is like a brother to me and I am grateful that I've gotten to become friends with the Legend of Cody Stark. Cody is the person who thought of the idea for me to write "Today in the News" amongst other things. Cody is a TRUE friend and is one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

Favorite Story of the Day: Drunk Suit:
Today's favorite story of the day comes from Cambi. Today Cambi put on a drunk suit made by the Ford Motor Company. This suit that consists of ankle, Knee, Elbow pads, goggles, and a neck brace as well as Headphones. This is to teach people what the effects are of a person drinking and why they should not be driving.
Cambi with these items on had slurred speech, difficulty walking and trouble standing.
Why is this today's favorite story of the day? Because of the teaching tool it provides to show a person what they act like when drunk and to show them not to get behind the wheel of a car.

Today on Good Day Courtney's Check this out showed off different toys to have fun with from 3 different companies. She was joined by Kevin, Corey and Jason

Breakfast at your place:
One of my favorite segments on Good Day over the years has been breakfast at your place. Today Mark and Evan's Kitchen took their talents to Elk Grove, One man ran down the street with the whisk in hand and quickly found out he had a competitor coming the other direction. In a photo finish he won leaving the neighbor and his daughter without breakfast but when Mark and Chef Evan got to the winners house they discovered a house full of people waiting for breakfast.
Skinny Genes:
Dr. Felicia Stoler was in to talk to Marianne about proper nutrition and getting your body craving after Summer. Dr. Stoler has a book out that is available now on Amazon.
Austin Morgan:
Austin Morgan is an incredible guitar player and will be heading to London to perform. He sounded amazing. Just listening I couldn't help to think of Kory from the weekend show and how these 2 guitar players would sound together.
Centro's:
Amy was in Sacramento at Centro Cocina Mexicana. They are celebrating 20 years in business with all kinds of specials for a week.
Back To School Medical Check Up:
Dr. Jean Howell from Woodland was in studio talking about making sure your kids have all their shots and medical check ups complete before school starts. Remember Whooping Cough is very real possibility.
Dishin:
This weeks feature on Dishin With Tina was La Strada 88 in Clements. This is a GREAT Italian spot that everyone should try. Tune in Sunday to see next weeks feature.

Today's Daily List talked about getting better passwords. Maybe using 25 characters. The longer the better. Don't use common words that can be found in dictionary or easy to guess words.
Daily Joe:
Today' Daily Joe showed a cat that knows how to open doors. That's crazy but I get it after seeing the type of door handle it was but it was pretty impressive.
Manly Minute:
Today' Manly Minute by Ken talked about Mental Toughness. This was a pretty good one because of the fact he said treat your job and coworkers like a team. Team work is a key. I can tell you without the help from Good Day and the Show Info and videos posted I have a more difficult time writing so Good Day is my team in helping all of you read this better. They are a GREAT Team for sure.

Favorite Story of the Day: Drunk Suit:
Today's favorite story of the day comes from Cambi. Today Cambi put on a drunk suit made by the Ford Motor Company. This suit that consists of ankle, Knee, Elbow pads, goggles, and a neck brace as well as Headphones. This is to teach people what the effects are of a person drinking and why they should not be driving.
Cambi with these items on had slurred speech, difficulty walking and trouble standing.
Why is this today's favorite story of the day? Because of the teaching tool it provides to show a person what they act like when drunk and to show them not to get behind the wheel of a car.

Today on Good Day Courtney's Check this out showed off different toys to have fun with from 3 different companies. She was joined by Kevin, Corey and Jason

Today Cody showed once again why he was the featured story for the #GoodDay19 Flashback He just doesn't do weather. He picks peaches at Johl Orchards and takes Mini Cody with him to Marysville
Breakfast at your place:
One of my favorite segments on Good Day over the years has been breakfast at your place. Today Mark and Evan's Kitchen took their talents to Elk Grove, One man ran down the street with the whisk in hand and quickly found out he had a competitor coming the other direction. In a photo finish he won leaving the neighbor and his daughter without breakfast but when Mark and Chef Evan got to the winners house they discovered a house full of people waiting for breakfast.
Skinny Genes:
Dr. Felicia Stoler was in to talk to Marianne about proper nutrition and getting your body craving after Summer. Dr. Stoler has a book out that is available now on Amazon.
Austin Morgan:
Austin Morgan is an incredible guitar player and will be heading to London to perform. He sounded amazing. Just listening I couldn't help to think of Kory from the weekend show and how these 2 guitar players would sound together.
Centro's:
Amy was in Sacramento at Centro Cocina Mexicana. They are celebrating 20 years in business with all kinds of specials for a week.
Back To School Medical Check Up:
Dr. Jean Howell from Woodland was in studio talking about making sure your kids have all their shots and medical check ups complete before school starts. Remember Whooping Cough is very real possibility.

Today' Daily Joe showed a cat that knows how to open doors. That's crazy but I get it after seeing the type of door handle it was but it was pretty impressive.
Manly Minute:
Today' Manly Minute by Ken talked about Mental Toughness. This was a pretty good one because of the fact he said treat your job and coworkers like a team. Team work is a key. I can tell you without the help from Good Day and the Show Info and videos posted I have a more difficult time writing so Good Day is my team in helping all of you read this better. They are a GREAT Team for sure.
