Happy Birthday #GoodDay19 .... Today in the News 8/14/2014
Opening Statement:
Today is Flashback Thursday so over the course of the next few minutes we are going to Flashback to 1995 and then time travel in our Tardis to 2014.
Why 1995? That was the year Seal was the big winner at the Grammy's for Kiss By A Rose including Record of the Year. Braveheart won Best Picture at the Oscars and on August 14, 1995 Good Day Sacramento came into our living rooms.
This was the show that changed the morning news game. No one saw it coming but the vision of News Director Brent Badder was born. Opening the show was Marianne McClary and Stew Oleson.
Over the years the names on the show have changed but the concept of the show have always remained.
In a recent poll done by Nor Cal News Blog we have all had our share of favorite cast members. Please forgive me because I know I have forgotten some names but everyone who has come through the Good Day doors and shared their life with all of us are just as important as the ones that will be mentioned including those who have moved on from the show.
I believe everyone on the show past and present have all left their mark in our hearts and minds. I can say first hand that yes I have had a couple of dislikes but they have one thing in common... They are and always will be Good Day Sacramento Family.
Like I said the show has seen many changes in names but the format has always remained. Good Day has had some GREAT Producers, Directors, and Floor Crew in the past. from Julian Lang, Julian Soto, Marc Woodfork, Dale Patterson Camera Guy Steve Garcia, Camera Guy Steve (last name escapes me) and many more.
One of the things I have loved about Good Day is each hour has it's own Producers. Yalda, Megan Sweezy, Josh, Corey, Jason, Kristin, Morgan, Tracy, Jim Lambert, Eric Shackelford, Heather Picuo, Brandon Mercer, Charles Bernard, Joe Carnahan, Tessa, Bailee, Amber and more.
Like many popular shows Good Day has had Spin offs as well. The most popular of all of them is Good Day Weekend. Good Day Weekend show has seen many reporters and anchors over the years as well but no one took it to the heights as current host Cody Stark.
The weekend show started at 7am - 10am at first with then host Chris Burrous, Stefanie Cruz and reporters Kim Fields (Not Tootie from Facts of life) Mae Fesai, Heather Hudgens then it added a little intern that could not be stopped. Alan "The Intern" Sanchez. Chris would just scream at him "Action Before Information". Once Chris and Stefanie and all the reporters moved on Alan stayed for awhile longer until 2 years ago he left the business for a short time before showing up on a Monetary Station in the recent weeks. But Stefanie moved on first so Taryn Winter Brill took over the Co hosting duties with Chris. However Chris would move to New York before finding a new home at KTLA.
With the departure of Chris in came Cody. Cody started with Taryn but she too would leave making way for Lori Wallace, Lori wanted to get off the desk so then entered Jackie Trancedia. Jackie was first introduced to everyone on Good Day by eating a Squeeze Inn Burger and would leave the show the same way. When Jackie left Mark Mathis stepped in for awhile but that turned out to be a short lived so enter in Crazy Melissa Cabral. I say Crazy because Melissa has such a fun spirit about her she keeps everyone on her toes and laughing so hard you have to pee. However that would not be the final Co Host for Cody on the Weekend show. Because here comes a Spunky little vixen from Vegas who lived on an Island at time she's not called Extreme Amy for nothing, she parachuted with the Golden Knights and in her recent trip to New Orleans she fed gators.
The Weekend show has welcomed many reporters most of them you can still see today. Nina Hadjin, Heather Brent, Christianne Klein, and more.
The other 2 spinoffs from Good Day Mark at the Movies, and The Car Czar Show.
Like every family we have to say Goodbye to those to choose to move to different markets or just go to CBS 13. Good Day said it's share of Good Byes to Stefanie Cruz, Nick Toma, Lisa Gonzalez, Alan Sanchez, Shayne Wells (Now in Minnesota) and more. Moving to CBS 13 we said good bye to Christina Anderson, Nick Janes, Ron Jones, and Steve Large.
I know this is getting long so I will wrap it up with this for the current members of the Good Day Family. Ken, Marianne, Mark, Cody, Tina, Courtney, Lori, Julissa, Cambi, Kristin, Audrey, Melissa, Sean, Laura, Amy, Tessa, Tracy, Bailee, Julian Lang Julian Soto, Marc Woodfork, Dale All of SAP, and so many others. You have been coming into my home for 19 years but none like the last 14 years where I have been a faithful viewer, friend each and everyday. I know I need you more than you need me but I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to be a part of the family. You have touched my heart, touched my soul and opened up so many doors for me. Don Smith you and the entire Art Department are also included in this. I can never repay all of you what you are worth because to me you are all priceless. I owe you my life and I give you all I can. I PROMISE to stick by you each and every day. I love you all despite being a thorn is some of your sides. When I needed you the most I found you. I need you each day. If I can give back by sharing the days shows I am going to do that to the best of my ability in the most professional matter. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for being here each day. I love you all.

Favorite Story of the Day: #GoodDay19
Today's Favorite Story of the Day was of course Good Day turning 19. Before I get into my final thoughts on this special day I need to send a very special thank you to Photographer David McCain. David made the photo collage being used today to show many of the pictures over the years. Thanks you David.
While watching the show today I had to stop and think about how much all these wonderful people past and present have grown up and became parents. Good Day's Crew has many off spring. Starting with those who are no longer with us.
Stefanie Cruz - 2 Lisa Gonzalez - 2 Chris Burrous - 1. I am sure others do as well but I can't remember everyone. However for the current group of Good Day Players

Just think when Mom and Dad retire maybe the kids will take over for them Chelsea, Cody's daughter could be the next Producer Tessa who knows.

DIY Facial:
Today Melissa tried a Pinterest recipe for a DIY Facial. She took a 1/2 banana, 1/2 avocado and 1 egg and mixed it together and applied to her face for about 20 minutes. She said her face felt smoother.
Car Czar:
Doug The Car Czar was back giving tips on how to properly tow a trailer with your car.
Face on a Plate:
Last year we saw Courtney with her face on a plate. Today Kit Cat Pooshie stepped her game up and put ALL the faces of Good Day on a plate and you can order them too.

One of the BEST things about Good Day is all the old clips that had us laughing, crying and just plain forgetting about our day. Today the clips shown brought back so many memories.

The weekend show started at 7am - 10am at first with then host Chris Burrous, Stefanie Cruz and reporters Kim Fields (Not Tootie from Facts of life) Mae Fesai, Heather Hudgens then it added a little intern that could not be stopped. Alan "The Intern" Sanchez. Chris would just scream at him "Action Before Information". Once Chris and Stefanie and all the reporters moved on Alan stayed for awhile longer until 2 years ago he left the business for a short time before showing up on a Monetary Station in the recent weeks. But Stefanie moved on first so Taryn Winter Brill took over the Co hosting duties with Chris. However Chris would move to New York before finding a new home at KTLA.
With the departure of Chris in came Cody. Cody started with Taryn but she too would leave making way for Lori Wallace, Lori wanted to get off the desk so then entered Jackie Trancedia. Jackie was first introduced to everyone on Good Day by eating a Squeeze Inn Burger and would leave the show the same way. When Jackie left Mark Mathis stepped in for awhile but that turned out to be a short lived so enter in Crazy Melissa Cabral. I say Crazy because Melissa has such a fun spirit about her she keeps everyone on her toes and laughing so hard you have to pee. However that would not be the final Co Host for Cody on the Weekend show. Because here comes a Spunky little vixen from Vegas who lived on an Island at time she's not called Extreme Amy for nothing, she parachuted with the Golden Knights and in her recent trip to New Orleans she fed gators.
The Weekend show has welcomed many reporters most of them you can still see today. Nina Hadjin, Heather Brent, Christianne Klein, and more.
The other 2 spinoffs from Good Day Mark at the Movies, and The Car Czar Show.
Like every family we have to say Goodbye to those to choose to move to different markets or just go to CBS 13. Good Day said it's share of Good Byes to Stefanie Cruz, Nick Toma, Lisa Gonzalez, Alan Sanchez, Shayne Wells (Now in Minnesota) and more. Moving to CBS 13 we said good bye to Christina Anderson, Nick Janes, Ron Jones, and Steve Large.
I know this is getting long so I will wrap it up with this for the current members of the Good Day Family. Ken, Marianne, Mark, Cody, Tina, Courtney, Lori, Julissa, Cambi, Kristin, Audrey, Melissa, Sean, Laura, Amy, Tessa, Tracy, Bailee, Julian Lang Julian Soto, Marc Woodfork, Dale All of SAP, and so many others. You have been coming into my home for 19 years but none like the last 14 years where I have been a faithful viewer, friend each and everyday. I know I need you more than you need me but I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to be a part of the family. You have touched my heart, touched my soul and opened up so many doors for me. Don Smith you and the entire Art Department are also included in this. I can never repay all of you what you are worth because to me you are all priceless. I owe you my life and I give you all I can. I PROMISE to stick by you each and every day. I love you all despite being a thorn is some of your sides. When I needed you the most I found you. I need you each day. If I can give back by sharing the days shows I am going to do that to the best of my ability in the most professional matter. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for being here each day. I love you all.

Favorite Story of the Day: #GoodDay19
Today's Favorite Story of the Day was of course Good Day turning 19. Before I get into my final thoughts on this special day I need to send a very special thank you to Photographer David McCain. David made the photo collage being used today to show many of the pictures over the years. Thanks you David.
While watching the show today I had to stop and think about how much all these wonderful people past and present have grown up and became parents. Good Day's Crew has many off spring. Starting with those who are no longer with us.

Today Melissa tried a Pinterest recipe for a DIY Facial. She took a 1/2 banana, 1/2 avocado and 1 egg and mixed it together and applied to her face for about 20 minutes. She said her face felt smoother.
Car Czar:
Doug The Car Czar was back giving tips on how to properly tow a trailer with your car.
Face on a Plate:
Last year we saw Courtney with her face on a plate. Today Kit Cat Pooshie stepped her game up and put ALL the faces of Good Day on a plate and you can order them too.

One of the BEST things about Good Day is all the old clips that had us laughing, crying and just plain forgetting about our day. Today the clips shown brought back so many memories.
