Star Wars Sinks Titanic Box Office Report Weekend of 1/1/2016 - 1/3/2016:
It's the first weekend of the New Year and much like the last 2 weeks of 2015 Star Wars Force Awakens has taken over the Box Office. In fact it is heading straight toward Avatar records of $760.5 million and if it has surpassed it yet as of this report it will soon. This week Force Awakens grossed an estimated $88,300,000. Total Gross to date $740,265,583. “Force Awakens” has already overtaken domestic box office leaders “Titanic” which was previously No. 2 with $658.7 million and “Jurassic World” which was formerly No. 3 with $652 million. Coming in at #2 this week is Daddy's Home with an estimated $29,000,000 The Hateful Eight will take the 3rd spot with $16,240,000 and rounding out the top 5 this week Sisters with $12,580,000 in 4th and in 5th Alvin and the Chipmunks Road Chip with $11,800,000 meaning Concussion is once again shutout of the top 5 and fell from the 7th spot to 8th
