As September winds down October events pick up and today on the show we get a lot of previews of upcoming events. We also get to celebrate the 20th year for The Dance Gallery 2. Funktional Wearables has found a solution to those sporty silicon rubber bands and Tina will show it in Check This Out. Saturday October 3rd Sacramento County Bradshaw Animal Shelter celebrates Whiskers and Wine. Saturday we met Hersch Guitar who uses recycled material today we meet Fellow Guitars who uses wood to make them. The Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin Festival is this weekend and today we get a preview of the Pumpkin Derby. Placer SPCA celebrates their 5th Annual Barktoberfest Sunday October 4th. Carolyn Kumpe has been honored as a top 10 finalist in the “Newman’s Own Greens for Good” Salad Recipe Contest and we learn how we can help. All this and more in this September 28th edition of Custom Guitars, Pumpkin Derby, Dancing, Food and more Today in the News....

If you love guitars and would love to have a cool custom guitar then Cambi had one of the coolest live shots for you when she was with Jonathan Fellows from Fellows Guitars in Tracy who makes electric guitars out of wood and he would love to do a Custom Guitar for you. Cambi also met with Logan from Oakdale who is working toward getting a National Award with his work with fish. She then finished out her day at Denair Elementary school checking out a Spanish Immersion Class for kids starting as early as Kindergarten. This program has gotten so big they had to add a second class.
As you know Good Day just celebrated their 20th anniversary back in August and today Melissa was at Dance Gallery 2 who are celebrating a big milestone of their own with their 25th Anniversary. Melissa finished out her day when she was at Placer SPCA getting a preview of the 5th annual Barktoberfest! taking place Sunday October 4th at Maidu Regional Park, Roseville. They are offering a special for Roseville Area Chihuahua's.
With Courtney off today Tina had two Check This Out. The first one was from Funktional Wearables perfect for those who wear the Fitbit. In Part 2 of Check This Out Tina showed the 8 o'clock Coffee Thins as Marianne said these would be good dipped in Coffee. Tina then was in the Kitchen with Meg from Raley's learning different recipes for cooking with canned goods. Tina finished out her day back in the kitchen with El Dorado’s very own Carolyn Kumpe who has been honored as a top 10 finalist in the “Newman’s Own Greens for Good” Salad Recipe Contest, where she created an original & tasty salad recipe-NOT for a cash prize-but for a shot at a $35,000 grand prize donation to the Food Literacy Center charity.
Now that Pope Francis has left the States for home Julissa was with students from St. Francis who made the trip to see the Pope in Washington DC. and they shared their pictures and stories
Mark did his News of the Weird before he headed out to Sacramento County Bradshaw Animal Shelter learning more about Whiskers and Wine October 3rd. Mark finished out his day getting a preview of the big Pumpkin Derby taking place at the Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin Festival this Weekend at Elk Grove Regional Park. Mark will also be going up against Joey Chestnut in a Eating Contest on Sunday.

Final Thought on today's show
Monday is now done and it's time to look back at some of the BEST moments of the show today. One of the funniest moments came during Question of the Day when Mark talked about Senior Prom and Good Day Theater kicked in with Mark, Ken, and Marianne making for such a funny moment Marianne had to touch up her Makeup from laughing so hard. Mark was also very funny when it came to News of the Weird today. Other favorite moments came when Melissa had Dogs walk the Red Carpet at Placer SPCA and fed them Yogurt for their treats (Dog friendly yogurt) Cambi was with Jonathan Fellows who makes beautiful guitars out of wood. Mark at Bradshaw Animal Center with a preview of Whiskers and Wine. Mark getting a preview of the Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin fest with the Pumpkin Derby.
