Courtney Checks This Out Cody Geeks Out & More Today in the News 6/18/2015



Today's Recap:
As we inch closer to the weekend on this Thursday June 18th we get a preview of the PGA US Senior Open that begins Monday. Courtney has another cool Check This Out. It's a new edition of SPCA Pet of the Week. Cambi goes to Ninja Sushi in Roseville for International Sushi Day and so much more in this edition of Courtney Checks This Out Cody Geeks Out & More Today in the News.....



Cambi:
FOUR!!! Cambi started her day at Del Paso Country Club as they prepare for the Senior PGA Tour starting Monday. Cambi then headed to Ninja Sushi as they prepared a Good Day Roll for International Sushi Day before she delivered it back to the studio.



Courtney:
Always great when Courtney does a Check This Out and today a Glam Screen for your phone that turns into a mirror when phone is in Standby mode. Courtney was then getting a preview of the Juneteenth-themed ballet as part of the celebration taking place this weekend. 
 


Tina:
Tina was getting a preview of the SPCA Ty Ty 7 year old Cat available for adoption 


 
Marianne/Ken:
Ken talked with Bruce and Kristin who chronicled their adventure around the world with their kids and now you can see it June 21 on Travel Channel. Marianne was talking with ALS President Barbara Newhouse and the return of the Ice Bucket Challenge. A Rat Pack Tribute is taking place tomorrow and Ken was previewing the food portion of it prior to the Rat Pack taking the Good Day Stage. 



Cody: 
Boondock Saint star Sean Patrick Flanery is in town to kickoff Wizard World this weekend with a special kickoff event at IMax and Cody talked with him. Cody was with George who suffers from TBI a Brain injury who is in town to spread the word about the brain injury. Cody continued in the 9am hour talking with Dan Mollino who is spreading awareness with a nationwide bike tour. Cody also talked with Adora  Matthews MD.



Quick Thought:
Cambi started off on the Golf Course before the Senior's take the course Monday for the Senior PGA tour. Then she went ot Ninja Sushi for the Good Day Roll. Tina was sitting in a Nasty chair and talking about a 7 pound cat up for adoption at SPCA. Courtney had a Cool Check This Out for your phone and previewed the Ballet for Juneteenth. Not everyday a family heads out on the road without taking one plane and then has a show made but one family did and you can see it on Travel Channel but check out Ken's interview first. Ken also brought us the Rat Pack of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe to name a few for a special tribute. How about Marianne talking with the ALS President about bringing the Bucket Challenge back. I know we are in a drought so if you take part buy the ice and do it in the brown lawn to give it some water. Gina from Thrift Town was amazing again. Sean Patrick Flanery was just as awesome when he talked with Cody but for me the story of the day was Cody talking with George, and Dan about their trials and tribulations dealing with TBI and how they are raising awareness and sharing their stories one with a bike ride and one just how he has to write the little things down just to remember where he left it. Final Thought on today's show 
We are just hours away from Friday and on this Friday eve we had another fun show to talk about. Some of my favorite parts from today came from Marianne hiding like in a cute dog video. Cambi checking out the Senior PGA coming to town next week. Ken introduced us to the Rat Pack Tribute that included Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe to name a few. A Facebook / viewer thought she saw Courtney driving a purple convertible and Good Day had fun with that plus Courtney was checking out the Ballet part of Juneteenth and she will be the Emcee for the event on Sunday. Courtney also had a check this out that was a pretty cool gadget for your phone called the Glam Screen. Dave Gras loves to pick stuff up along the road and today he found a chair along the road and Tina sat in it. Nasty but a very funny part of the show. Cody met Sean Patrick Flanery in town for Wizard World Kickoff tonight at Imax but then Cody also met 2 gentlemen who have suffered from Traumatic Brain Injuries and told how they are getting by with help and also Dan is on the bike ride to raise awareness. This 2 part story was by far my favorite story of the day. Of course everyone at Good Day who works hard to bring the show each day.
