It's been quite a week on Good Day Sacramento this week starting on Saturday with Melissa covering the Eppies Great Race and GREAT 40 years prior to this year that featured Eppie Johnson himself. This year however was different with him not there asking "When is Cody Stark going to participate?" Eppies Race may or may not continue but Eppie's Legacy sure will.
Then on Sunday the Good Day Crew took part in the #IceBucketChallenge and Cody, Amy, and Lori Wallace raising money for #BrandysBattle. was such a tug at the heart strings it made me think how awesome the Good Day Weekend Crew is and how much as a family that they all truly are and stand together as one.

Heading into the final days of the 2014 California State Fair it was Kristin's time to go.
Kristin was there today because a local Galt girl Karissa Krater donated money she won off of California Chrome to the Galt Police Dept.
Karissa donated $2500 to provide State of the Art K-9 Ballistic vests to keep the dog safe.
Kristin also asked the officer about the dog in a hot car and the officer showed a device made to control the cars temperature that turns the air on or puts the window down automatically plus sends a single to the officer should the car or dog gets too hot.
The officer then showed his trunk where he has collars, harnesses and leaches that tell the dog what type of environment they may be going into. It could be search and rescue, drugs or weapons but regardless of what it is the dog knows what to look for including medical aide.
It was this outstanding donation along with the equipment shown that makes this story my favorite story of the day.
Word Crimes:
When we first saw the Word Crimes Video by Weird Al in Marianne's Daily Joe on July 16th we fell in love with it. Today on Good Day Ken traveled to Elk Grove to meet the Graphic Designer who made it. Jarrett Heather of Elk Grove and Space Paranoids created the work and today Ken was shown how he made the video that became Word Crimes.

Ditch The Drive Thru:
Debbi Kennedy was in the studio today for DIY Thursday. Today she showed Tina how to make Zucchini Fettuccini and Jamba Juice, Juice. But perhaps one of the funniest moments came when Tina said she had to clean out her Veggetti... WHAT! It made for a very funny Good Day moment for sure.
Scout Camp:
Cambi was at Camp Menzies showing how the Girl Scouts learn how to build and use tools.
Star Wine:
Melissa was at Whole Foods talking about Brad and Angelina getting into the wine business. The Miraval Rose is a very sweet wine. Wine tastings on Friday nights from 5-7pm.
Skin Damage:
Melissa continued at Whole Foods in Folsom at 270 Palladio Parkway with Jenny Mitchell with the machine that takes your picture of your skin and tells you if you are in danger of skin damage. Melissa took the test and she scored well. The more Sun Screen you use the better. Use at least a 30.
Flowers:
While Debbi Kennedy was showing us how to Ditch the Drive Through Cody was out celebrating the Drive Thru on National Drive Thru Day handing out flowers.
Car Czar:
As your child learns to drive or heads off to college they are going to need a car. Today Doug the Car Czar showed some nice used cars you could buy for them.
Then Doug showed off a new device Toyota is using to talk to your kids in the backseat before he answered Viewer Questions about their car.
Workout:
Julissa loves Soccer. Julissa loves Sacramento Republic FC so today on Good Day she went to Results Physical Therapy and Training Center to see how the team trains.
Nerds:
As kids celebrate summer we look at the calendars and the store shelves and see that it's back to school sales going strong. Today on Good Day Andrea from Nerds On Call was in studio first showing gadgets your child can use as they head off to college to begin the rest of their life. Then she was back next hour showing Mark apps you can use to hide on Social Media
5am:
The 5am Club Member doesn't usually get post show coverage unless it is from a unique viewer or a long time member. Today's 5am Club Member is inducted into the 5am Club Hall of Fame. Today's member has been an official member since 2003 and tries to add to the show by sharing the show. Today's 5am Club Member got a rare phone call from the Good Day Studio where they called to check on his progress and brighten up his day. Today's 5am Club Member was me. I can't thank Tina, Mark, Cody, Ken, and Marianne, Producers Corey and lead 5am Producers Tessa enough for making my day to call and say hello. I did not expect that and was very grateful.

Favorite Story of the Day: K-9 Protection:
Heading into the final days of the 2014 California State Fair it was Kristin's time to go.
Kristin was there today because a local Galt girl Karissa Krater donated money she won off of California Chrome to the Galt Police Dept.
Karissa donated $2500 to provide State of the Art K-9 Ballistic vests to keep the dog safe.
Kristin also asked the officer about the dog in a hot car and the officer showed a device made to control the cars temperature that turns the air on or puts the window down automatically plus sends a single to the officer should the car or dog gets too hot.
The officer then showed his trunk where he has collars, harnesses and leaches that tell the dog what type of environment they may be going into. It could be search and rescue, drugs or weapons but regardless of what it is the dog knows what to look for including medical aide.
It was this outstanding donation along with the equipment shown that makes this story my favorite story of the day.
Word Crimes:
When we first saw the Word Crimes Video by Weird Al in Marianne's Daily Joe on July 16th we fell in love with it. Today on Good Day Ken traveled to Elk Grove to meet the Graphic Designer who made it. Jarrett Heather of Elk Grove and Space Paranoids created the work and today Ken was shown how he made the video that became Word Crimes.

Ditch The Drive Thru:
Debbi Kennedy was in the studio today for DIY Thursday. Today she showed Tina how to make Zucchini Fettuccini and Jamba Juice, Juice. But perhaps one of the funniest moments came when Tina said she had to clean out her Veggetti... WHAT! It made for a very funny Good Day moment for sure.
Scout Camp:
Cambi was at Camp Menzies showing how the Girl Scouts learn how to build and use tools.
Star Wine:
Melissa was at Whole Foods talking about Brad and Angelina getting into the wine business. The Miraval Rose is a very sweet wine. Wine tastings on Friday nights from 5-7pm.
Skin Damage:
Melissa continued at Whole Foods in Folsom at 270 Palladio Parkway with Jenny Mitchell with the machine that takes your picture of your skin and tells you if you are in danger of skin damage. Melissa took the test and she scored well. The more Sun Screen you use the better. Use at least a 30.
Flowers:
While Debbi Kennedy was showing us how to Ditch the Drive Through Cody was out celebrating the Drive Thru on National Drive Thru Day handing out flowers.
Car Czar:
As your child learns to drive or heads off to college they are going to need a car. Today Doug the Car Czar showed some nice used cars you could buy for them.
Then Doug showed off a new device Toyota is using to talk to your kids in the backseat before he answered Viewer Questions about their car.
Workout:
Julissa loves Soccer. Julissa loves Sacramento Republic FC so today on Good Day she went to Results Physical Therapy and Training Center to see how the team trains.
Nerds:
As kids celebrate summer we look at the calendars and the store shelves and see that it's back to school sales going strong. Today on Good Day Andrea from Nerds On Call was in studio first showing gadgets your child can use as they head off to college to begin the rest of their life. Then she was back next hour showing Mark apps you can use to hide on Social Media
5am:
The 5am Club Member doesn't usually get post show coverage unless it is from a unique viewer or a long time member. Today's 5am Club Member is inducted into the 5am Club Hall of Fame. Today's member has been an official member since 2003 and tries to add to the show by sharing the show. Today's 5am Club Member got a rare phone call from the Good Day Studio where they called to check on his progress and brighten up his day. Today's 5am Club Member was me. I can't thank Tina, Mark, Cody, Ken, and Marianne, Producers Corey and lead 5am Producers Tessa enough for making my day to call and say hello. I did not expect that and was very grateful.
