Opening Statement:
Today the movie When The Game Stands Talls Opens about the Concord, CA High School De La Salle winning 151 straight games. For more on this movie watch Mark at the Movies Saturday at 430am on CW31 or on Reelzchannel at 11am EST. But this also means Friday Night Lights for real starts Next Friday and College Football next Saturday and just less than 2 weeks before the NFL regular season.  


I have a college degree but I only went to business school so I don't have an actual college team to cheer for so I have adopted 3.
Syracuse Orangemen because they are the home town team and one of games I am looking forward to are....
Vs Notre Dame September 27.

I also adopted Auburn University because of my friend Cody Stark and I am for sure looking forward to
November 29 when they plat Alabama aka #IronBowl which means we the people of Cody must find a way for Good Day to send him to the game #IronBowCody2014:   

Finally I also adopted Oregon State Beavers because this is where my niece goes and the games I am most looking forward to....
Any of the Pac 12.

Final Recap:
Favorite Story of the Day: Today's favorite story of the day is a bit different than the norm. No one story stood out to me so I am giving you a bit of the best of.



This week on Good Day we learned so much about special people, from The Game Stands Tall we learned that coaches are a very unique breed. They are more than just someone to put us in the right place on the field but also in life.



Today we learned the importance of giving back with a new thrift shop that has opened in Elk Grove and giving back to charity. We also learned from Brian Crall and everyone at the Comedy Spot laughter helps make the day go better. I know I as laughing to make the day brighter when Mark talked about the Comedy Fest.



Most of all this week we learned Good Day is still the BEST Morning show on TV. Thanks for all the memories this week everyone and for that all of you are Today's Favorite Story of the Day.

Rodeo Queen:
Today Lori was in Amador County previewing the Rodeo coming up September 13-14 and she was learning what it takes to be a rodeo queen. I am not sure Lori will ever be a Queen of the Rodeo but she is the Queen of Elk Grove according to me.



Samba Dance:
Saturday in Elk Grove Park is the Multicultural Fest and today a local dance group came into the studio to show off their style of Samba Dancing.



Small Pets:
We all love our pets whether it be a dog, cat, horse, Guinea pig, bird or whatever small animal you can think of. Today on Good Day Courtney previewed the Petco Small Animal event taking place Saturday where you can learn how to take proper care of and purchase.



Antique:
Melissa was in Rocklin checking out the Hand Pickin Emporium and all the "Hollywood" Type memorabilia including a 1934 Shirley Temple Doll, and a dress once worn by Ginger Rogers plus so much more.



Comedy Fest:
The Sacramento Comedy Fest is taking place in September and today Brian Crall from the Comedy Spot joined Mark to talk about the event and gave a preview of the comedy that takes place at the Comedy Spot.

Nancy was in studio answering viewer question about their future.



Home Away From Home Thrift Shop:
Courtney was at a NEW Thrift Shop in Elk Grove that gives back to the charity Home Away from Home. They are looking for volunteers to work in the store and get school credit as well.

Now that Ariana Grande took us dancing into the weekend we can say Thank you to the Good Day cast and crew for this weeks shows. We had a lot of laughs that brought many smiles and a few tears. We learned a lot about Aaron Burah and the people behind the game of When the Game Stands Tall. We learned how stores, and other activities around town give back but most of all we learned how to have fun.



But the fun doesn't stop today in fact it continues all weekend long when the controls are turned over to Cody, Amy and the entire weekend crew. Sunday we will "Ask Eleanor and go Dishin With Tina to name a few. So tune in tomorrow at 7am for all the fun.
