Final Thoughts:
The Box Office Estimates are in and as I predicted last week Guardians of the Galaxy would send Lucy and her mind tricks packing. Guardians of the Galaxy finished with a High of $94,000,000. With Lucy and her mind tricks falling to 2nd at $18,263,000 James Brown Got on up in Get On Up to 3rd with $14,031,000 and rounding out the Top 5 Hercules $10,700,000 continues to fall and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes takes 5th with $8,700,000.
This weeks Mark at the Movies was one of the BEST of the year this week. Opening the show with talk of Lucy and her mind tricks Mark may have been thinking too much because some noises occurred and had the others scatter and wondering what he might of had for lunch.
This week featured a Double Retro Reel Review and partly because of Lucy surprising everyone with the win last week. Viewer Mignon didn't really like the movie either when she joined via Facetime.
Julian Soto talked with Dwayne Johnson about Hercules making that the second part of Retro Reel Review.
Once the panel of Mark, Rachel, Brian, Heather, Anna, and Big Al all joined together they talked about the James Brown Movie "Get Up On It" Everyone liked it. But lets be honest the only movie everyone is talking about is Guardians of the Galaxy.
Julian might be the resident Marvel Nerd (In a good way) as he ran the interviews this week. First talking with Chris Pratt where Julian got an impromptu Lego Theater performance from Chris who had 2 of his legos to play with, from Julian I might add.
Julian also talked with Zoe Saldana, James Gunn (Director), Benicio Del Toro, Vin Diesel about the movie and life advice.
If you missed any of the show you can still see it tonight at 11pm on CW31 or you can download the Mark at the Movies app and get the show commercial free on Monday. (Link provided below)
Again this weeks show was one of the BEST of the year and we are 8 months into 2014. I think Guardians of the Galaxy is going to wake the sluggish box office numbers up because it is a GREAT Movie and Mark and Mark at the Movies did a wonderful job talking about it and selling it including Mike Mechanick who LOVED IT during his rant this week.
Ninja Turtles should be the big movie next week but if the previews are any indication of how this movie will be it might be worth watching Sharknadio 2 for that train wreck instead Guardians should control the box office next week again but regardless of what does I will see you at the movies.
