#MemorialDay2016 Today in the News 5/30/2016

Today's Recap:
Morgan was learning more about A New Leash on Life Veteran Companion Dog Giveaway. Morgan Ragan was at the Kings NEXT Clinic.

Nha shared the story of Boy Scouts and Volunteers who placed flags at each site for today's ceremony.  Nha was at Silva Tires and Wheels learning about Tire Safety Week from Hildo Silva. Nha was at The 7th Annual Vettes for Vets & American Muscle Car Show at California Automobile Museum. Nha was with the Mayor of  the City of Rancho Cordova who rolled out the red carpet for America’s veterans! But this event had a bit of a twist — many of the men and women being honored haven’t received recognition as veterans by the U.S. government! 

Courtney was with McClatchy High senior Alexi Ishida who’s one of nine finalists in the Beach Blanket Babylon Northern California Scholarship for the Arts contest! Her voice could land her a check for $15k towards her college education. Courtney was getting a preview of this weekends Ford Driving Skills Drivers Ed class this to benefit the Stephanie Bellotti Teen Fund. Teen drivers ages 16-19 are three times more likely to be in a fatal crash than drivers 20 and over, according to the CDC

Marianne Julissa and Laura talked with Indianapolis 500 Winner Alexander Rossi from Nevada City, CA. Marianne Julissa and Laura talked with Adam Sandoval and his dog Scooter who have made it their mission to visit every Harley-Davidson dealership in the lower 48 states in order to raise money and awareness for our military and their families.

Laura was with The Bathe to Save tour who is made a stop in Sacramento! The Amos Family is one amazing family trying to raise awareness and money to support no-kill animal shelters as they tour the country with their mobile pet grooming trailer to try and save homeless pets one wash at a time!

Heather was with a young married couple who has started their own business in downtown Stockton! House of Ice Cream has your traditional ice cream, but also some served up with a twist. Heather was at Viaggio, (Italian for “Journey”) which is a secluded private estate with classic elegance located in the heart of Lodi’s iconic wine country and is FOR SALE!

Sean was at the Wounded Vet Run in Folsom, CA where locals laced up their shoes to run for several organizations.

Today on Good Day Courtney was getting a preview of this weekends Ford Driving Skills Drivers Ed class this to benefit the Stephanie Teen Fund. A local couple who lost their daughter in a fatal crash started a teen driving clinic with the simple goal of keeping teens alive.
