Opening Statement:
Many of you may or mat not know that I am from Upstate New York. I was born in/around Syracuse, NY hence the reason I am a Buffalo Bills fan. But I moved to California at age 11 and have been here ever since. However I still have family that lives there and they are GREATLY effected by the Major storm on the East Coast. I talked to one of my sisters who lives in the New York area and she said at 230pm our time in California they had about 8-10 inches of snow with more on they way. I just hope everyone in the storms path stays safe and out of harms way.

What seems like a long time all 3 stations made it back to Today in the News and none of them disappointed.
My58 is standard for business and news events which we come to accept in the time of doing Today in the News but they also do a lot of special events throughout the year and today is no different. Today and this weekend they are participating in the Blood for Life campaign with Blood donation spots set up throughout the valley including 1 in Roseville and at Downtown Plaza as well as Stockton and Modesto. If you can donate I encourage it.
Fox40 had a couple of cool stories today also the first being Chick-fil-A is now serving breakfast. The other stories included Zohreen getting her geek on at Sac Anime but looking as cute as ever. The other 2 stories are related in a way. Jim Crandell the sports guy who was born and raised in Wisconsin and is now by far the BEST sports guy in our area in my opinion is heading for freezing temps to cover the Green Bay Packers game vs. SF 49'ers. The other is about local Stockton Football player who attends Oregon State University and set all kinds of Pac 12 Records is heading to the NFL Draft. Brandin Cooks is projected to be a 1st round pick later in the draft.
Good Day Sacramento had so many cat pictures yesterday they continued that theme for today as their Show us your... segment. They also had a lot of fun as they normally do. Today the featured reporters where Lori, Melissa, Sean, Courtney and Marianne & Cody covering the studio guest. Sean does the headline story. Today it was the storm on the East Coast canceling travel plans from the airport. Lori also covered a breaking story of an accident in Vacaville.
The 5am hour had its normal staples of the hour with the #Questionoftheday, 5am Club Member and Marianne's Daily List. Today's 5am Club Member was a 2 for 1 with Amy & DJ. If you are not a member submit a photo to the Facebook page and you might be named one of the day that day or the next.
The 6am hour saw Melissa added to the mix but more on that in a moment. Normally around 625am is the Daily Joe it was teased but never made air but I did add one story from the tease regarding Jennifer Hudson. Okay back to Melissa, one of Good Day Sacramento's favorite hair salon teamed up with Good Day Sacramento, Locks of Love and a very special 5 year old. She wanted to donate her hair but couldn't before Christmas and today she was able to. She was such a cutie and has a BIG HEART!
The 7am hour fun continued this time adding in Cody to talk to the creator of Domestic Diva Aprons. Shockingly they don't just make aprons. She does some beautiful sewing on all her products. Jason the Truck Tracker did his Friday push for content on the weekend. At the time of this writing spots are filling up but if you have something you never know also even if it is fm for a different weekend let Jason and Good Day Sacramento know.
On to the 8am hour Melissa was back this time in Folsom checking out the Grand Opening of Java Mama Café where you can enjoy coffee and let the kids play in a supervised area. I like seeing new businesses do well.... Good Luck. Marianne & Cody talked live via Skype with a woman who is directly in the snow storm where it was 7 degrees at the time. In addition they talked to a local business on Modesto that has an indoor Slot Car track.... This was so cool. Lori gave us a great set of tips and how to rid the Christmas tree at a recycle plant. Courtney was the DJ for Courts Tunes, today's theme.... Cars. Finally this hour the #9amtopic was introduced.
In the 9am hour Cody & Julissa guided us through the #9amtopic, Ju had Trending Topics, Lori continued from the recycle plant as Mel also continued from Java Mama Café. Courtney went to check out a cool store in Folsom called Kwirkworld and Jason had a final update on Truck Tracker assignments as of that time and then it was that time once again....... We danced into the weekend with Justin Timberlake handing over the controls to Cody & Amy for the weekend. This will be the first weekend show of 2014 so on that let's see what they do this weekend.

She wanted to donate her hair but couldn't before Christmas and today she was able to. She was such a cutie and has a BIG HEART!
The 7am hour fun continued this time adding in Cody to talk to the creator of Domestic Diva Aprons. Shockingly they don't just make aprons. She does some beautiful sewing on all her products. Jason the Truck Tracker did his Friday push for content on the weekend. At the time of this writing spots are filling up but if you have something you never know also even if it is fm for a different weekend let Jason and Good Day Sacramento know.
On to the 8am hour Melissa was back this time in Folsom checking out the Grand Opening of Java Mama Café where you can enjoy coffee and let the kids play in a supervised area. I like seeing new businesses do well.... Good Luck. Marianne & Cody talked live via Skype with a woman who is directly in the snow storm where it was 7 degrees at the time. In addition they talked to a local business on Modesto that has an indoor Slot Car track.... This was so cool. Lori gave us a great set of tips and how to rid the Christmas tree at a recycle plant. Courtney was the DJ for Courts Tunes, today's theme.... Cars. Finally this hour the #9amtopic was introduced.
In the 9am hour Cody & Julissa guided us through the #9amtopic, Ju had Trending Topics, Lori continued from the recycle plant as Mel also continued from Java Mama Café. Courtney went to check out a cool store in Folsom called Kwirkworld and Jason had a final update on Truck Tracker assignments as of that time and then it was that time once again....... We danced into the weekend with Justin Timberlake handing over the controls to Cody & Amy for the weekend. This will be the first weekend show of 2014 so on that let's see what they do this weekend.
