A bit of Good Day Sacramento family news to lead off today. Neda Iranpour who was at CBS13 and left for Reno is heading back to Sacramento. You may remember she was recently engaged and her Husband to be is a Peace Officer for Sacramento. Neda announced via Facebook Tuesday that Friday would be her last day in Reno so that she can move back here to plan her Wedding. At the time of this writing I DO NOT have confirmation if Neda will be returning to Good Day Sacramento/CBS13 family but with her working weekends for both I am willing to bet she will. Once I get confirmation I will pass it on. Neda was and is always one of my favorites. She is one of the finest Reporters/Weather people I have seen in addition to her always sweet personality. Follow up: From Neda: I'll be reporting for CBS13 for now, starting as early as this Saturday. But I will be working on a freelance basis, by choice. Thanks for checking in!"

Each year, the UC Davis Bariatric Surgery Program spotlights Bariatric patients as they model fashions for business, leisure and formal occasions.
This year’s event features men and women who have lost weight in the months following their gastric bypass, vertical sleeve gastrectomy or laparoscopic band operations. Models will share brief personal stories and photos from their battles with extreme weight and then walk the runway in the latest fashions from local clothing stores.
Proceeds benefit the UC Davis Bariatric Surgery Program.

Today they had an interesting story from Elk Grove. Citizens are trying to ban cars from two schools. "On Wednesday, the Elk Grove City Council will vote to close Hewitt Way near Franklin High School and Toby Johnson Middle School." I get you want to keep your kids safe but if drivers watched what they are doing and paid attention you would have nothing to worry about. What is going to happen when it is pouring down rain and parents don't want to get out of their cars to pick kids up? They are going to complain. You want to be able to protect kids why not set up a volunteer street crossing program where parents take turn directing traffic instead of closing the road down.
The other thing talked about today was Dine Downtown and what many restaurants are doing over the next week. Mayahuel was in studio making a salmon dish.

Zohreen talked about the Monks and sand art. How impressive is that. I have no plans to become a Monk but WOW that was impressive.
Dine Downtown was featured again today with Dawson's at the Hyatt being the featured restaurant.
Good Day Sacramento:
The Show and Tell section today was a CLASSIC. Julissa shared her Husband Steve Large on the Piano being accompanied by daughter Natalia singing Old McDonald had a Farm. It was so cute.
The 5am hour had it's normal staples, #Questionoftheday, 5am Club Member, Show us your... pics started flowing in today it was crafts and Marianne's Daily Joe Brett Larson was back with more cool tech gadgets... Today it was Tech for your car.
In the 6am hour Mark and Good Day Sacramento kept hearing about an Elk Grove Donut Shop that they had to check out. Today Mark did just that. Also you know her you loved her from Full House Lori Loughlin joined via satellite to talk about her new show on Hallmark Channel... She still looks amazing. The staple of the hour Your Daily Joe was delivered by Marianne.
The 7am hour of Good Day Sacramento had a lot today. Starting off which actually came to toward the end of the hour was Laura and Jason making the bet between the two of them on the Broncos vs. Chargers this Sunday. Laura the Bronco's fan will dispatch trucks in the Truck Tracker Center if they should lose and Jason will do the Charger fan will do weather in Bronco's gear should the Chargers lose. Then each of them played their teams songs. Mark left his donut shop to learn the art of a local pottery artist. Ken and Mark talked with F. Murray Abraham Star of Inside Llewyn Davis about the film.
In the 8am hour Mark continued learning the art of pottery. Courtney talked about color of 2014 PANTONE IS RADIANT ORCHID and how to use it for both men and woman. Cambi was at 1022 L to check out what they are offering for Dine Downtown. Ken introduced us to the GREAT sounding band Suburban Legend and the #9amtopic was introduced. Today What do you do when you get bored.
In the 9am hour Julissa was back with with Laura to guide us through the #9amtopic and the entire hour. Suburban Legend performed 2 more songs, 1 that closed out the show. Cambi continued to check out dishes at 1022 L for Dine Downtown and Mark S. Allen was on BREAKING Velveeta Cheese shortage only to find out Winco foods in Elk Grove had plenty in stock. Tina was on a breaking traffic story in Lodi so Courtney handled the in studio segment for Dishin With Tina from Dominick's. Julissa had interesting trending topics with one being Tupac trying out for the role of Mace Windu in Star Wars. The role went to Samuel Jackson. Ken's Manly Minute was a REALLY good one today as well.

Fox 40 was impressive with the Monk art and they have a new contest.
On Good Day Sacramento everyone in the planning meeting pays very close attention. :) I would love to see what goes on in a planning meeting so if ever anyone wants to invite me I assure you I would be quite and observe and only speak if spoken to. I most likely would ask questions later so that I could learn. Putting it out over the web would be okay too but to be there for me would be ultimate.
Also what we learned on Good Day Sacramento today was the offspring of the cast and crew have talent. Maybe the next talent show should be the Good Day Sacramento kids talent show. Malcolm on drums, Natalia singing. I know for a fact Cody's and Mark's kids have talent.
My new plan is to figure a way to get Cody to see one of his idols at the end of the month lets start the #RenoCody

Today they had an interesting story from Elk Grove. Citizens are trying to ban cars from two schools. "On Wednesday, the Elk Grove City Council will vote to close Hewitt Way near Franklin High School and Toby Johnson Middle School." I get you want to keep your kids safe but if drivers watched what they are doing and paid attention you would have nothing to worry about. What is going to happen when it is pouring down rain and parents don't want to get out of their cars to pick kids up? They are going to complain. You want to be able to protect kids why not set up a volunteer street crossing program where parents take turn directing traffic instead of closing the road down.
The other thing talked about today was Dine Downtown and what many restaurants are doing over the next week. Mayahuel was in studio making a salmon dish.

Zohreen talked about the Monks and sand art. How impressive is that. I have no plans to become a Monk but WOW that was impressive.
Dine Downtown was featured again today with Dawson's at the Hyatt being the featured restaurant.

The Show and Tell section today was a CLASSIC. Julissa shared her Husband Steve Large on the Piano being accompanied by daughter Natalia singing Old McDonald had a Farm. It was so cute.
The 5am hour had it's normal staples, #Questionoftheday, 5am Club Member, Show us your... pics started flowing in today it was crafts and Marianne's Daily Joe Brett Larson was back with more cool tech gadgets... Today it was Tech for your car.
In the 6am hour Mark and Good Day Sacramento kept hearing about an Elk Grove Donut Shop that they had to check out. Today Mark did just that. Also you know her you loved her from Full House Lori Loughlin joined via satellite to talk about her new show on Hallmark Channel... She still looks amazing. The staple of the hour Your Daily Joe was delivered by Marianne.
The 7am hour of Good Day Sacramento had a lot today. Starting off which actually came to toward the end of the hour was Laura and Jason making the bet between the two of them on the Broncos vs. Chargers this Sunday. Laura the Bronco's fan will dispatch trucks in the Truck Tracker Center if they should lose and Jason will do the Charger fan will do weather in Bronco's gear should the Chargers lose. Then each of them played their teams songs. In the 8am hour Mark continued learning the art of pottery. Courtney talked about color of 2014 PANTONE IS RADIANT ORCHID and how to use it for both men and woman. Cambi was at 1022 L to check out what they are offering for Dine Downtown. Ken introduced us to the GREAT sounding band Suburban Legend and the #9amtopic was introduced. Today What do you do when you get bored.
In the 9am hour Julissa was back with with Laura to guide us through the #9amtopic and the entire hour. Suburban Legend performed 2 more songs, 1 that closed out the show. Cambi continued to check out dishes at 1022 L for Dine Downtown and Mark S. Allen was on BREAKING Velveeta Cheese shortage only to find out Winco foods in Elk Grove had plenty in stock. Tina was on a breaking traffic story in Lodi so Courtney handled the in studio segment for Dishin With Tina from Dominick's. Julissa had interesting trending topics with one being Tupac trying out for the role of Mace Windu in Star Wars. The role went to Samuel Jackson. Ken's Manly Minute was a REALLY good one today as well.

On Good Day Sacramento everyone in the planning meeting pays very close attention. :) I would love to see what goes on in a planning meeting so if ever anyone wants to invite me I assure you I would be quite and observe and only speak if spoken to. I most likely would ask questions later so that I could learn. Putting it out over the web would be okay too but to be there for me would be ultimate.
Also what we learned on Good Day Sacramento today was the offspring of the cast and crew have talent. Maybe the next talent show should be the Good Day Sacramento kids talent show. Malcolm on drums, Natalia singing. I know for a fact Cody's and Mark's kids have talent.
My new plan is to figure a way to get Cody to see one of his idols at the end of the month lets start the #RenoCody
