Wendy was in Modesto with Wil and Wendy a local Modesto family who goes all out for the holidays with 80,000 lights and tries to help others by collecting toys for children in need. Wendy was making Guatemalan Tamales. with Dora Gregg.





Tina and Dave delivered a Marge and Hal Ornament to the Scott Family. The Smathers Family received a Marge and Hal Ornament. Tina met Chef Moreno and Lorianne and Julia a Teacher and Student Chef from Wheatland High School who will be appearing on Food Network.






Julissa was checking out the Holiday Lights App available at Home Depot. Julissa was at Home Depot with last Minute Gift Ideas. Julissa and crew made Ugly Sweater Cookies.






Courtney and the crew taste tested the Patti LaBelle Sweet Potato Pecan Pie. Courtney was joined by Maddie from Roseville Onyx Club to learn more about the history where drinks are $0.80 Today.






Dave was at Twin Palms Combined learning about the service they offer along with a look at the girls getting ready for competition. Dave was with Steven at RC Willey in Rocklin checking out the newest trends and what to look for when picking out that new big screen.







Drones are expected to be popular gifts this Christmas but there are some rules to remember before you put that device in a novice’s hands and today Patrick Eagan was with Marianne learning what those rules are.






Ken was with Jim Pryor from Man about the House Sacramento who showcased a few easy homemade gifts kids can make with a few simple supplies, that parents will never want to part with.







Cody talked with Fancy Feet Owner Elizabeth as the kids danced to find out more about Holiday Princess Drop & Shop Dec 19-21st. Cody was out talking with people seeing Star Wars Rogue One

Marianne: Grandma’s Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
1 c semisweet choc chips
1 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 c vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking salt
1/2 c chopped walnuts
about 1/2 c powdered sugar
Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring after 30-second increments. Set aside to cool.
Beat sugar and oil with a mixer; add eggs one at at time. Add vanilla.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add gradually to wet mixture. Stir in nuts.
Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
Using a spoon, scoop off a spoonful of dough to form a small ball, about an inch in diameter. Roll the ball in powdered sugar in a bowl, and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies flatten out and cracks form on top. Sprinkle cooled cookies with a little more powdered sugar.

Courtney: Betty Crocker Snickerdoodles
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 ¾ cups all-purpose or unbleached flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, the butter, shortening and eggs in large bowl. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Mix 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at Heat oven to 400ºF 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

Laura: No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Cookies
½ CUP UNSALTED BUTTER
½ CUP MILK
2 CUPS GRANULATED SUGAR
¼ CUP UNSWEETENED COCOA
½ CUP CREAMY PEANUT BUTTER
1 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
2 ½ CUPS OLD-FASHIONED OATS
1 CUP CHOPPED PRETZELS
¼ TEASPOON SEA SALT – PLUS EXTRA FOR SPRINKLING ON COOKIES
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add milk, sugar, and cocoa and stir to combine while bringing to a boil. Boil for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove pan from heat. Add peanut butter and vanilla, and stir until smooth. Stir in oats, chopped pretzels and sea salt. Drop mixture by spoonfuls onto waxed paper and let cool completely. Cookies will set and harden when they cool.

Julissa: Cowboy Cookies
1 cup shortening (recommended: Crisco)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 (6-ounce) package chocolate chips
1/2 cup shredded coconut
In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, cream the shortening, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs and the vanilla and beat until well blended. Stir in the flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder. Add oats, nuts, chocolate chips and coconut, mix until combined. Spoon cookie mixture onto greased foil lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool.
