I Love a Parade.... Today in the News 9/10/2014:
Opening Statement:
Today I'm going to lead off with a little story about me. Plus I'm going to let you in on a quick format change starting tomorrow.
As you know my name is Matt Dixon but go by Matt D. I am 45 years of age and I have a brain / eye tumor that is taking away my vision. I had gastric bypass surgery 5 years ago and in those 5 years I went from 500 down to 200 lbs. Because of the weight I have damage to my arms, hands, legs and feet where I have very little to no feeling in them creating not only pain but depression. Most people find god to help them through things like
this however I found Good Day Sacramento on a daily basis to help me through. Btw yes I believe in god before you ask but he doesn't make me laugh like Good Day Sacramento does.
Because I found Good Day Sacramento I also found many friendships and have become friends with quite a few Good Day Sacramento cast and crew members. I DO NOT WORK FOR Good Day Sacramento. I am not paid in anyway other than in thank you.
I cannot work because of my health so Cody suggested I start writing. I love writing. I love sharing my thoughts but I also love sharing the shows I love Good Day Sacramento and Mark at The Movies so I share the shows via Facebook and Twitter to help promote the shows as well as any businesses that are featured on Good Day Sacramento and or Mark at Movies. Yes you can ask me anything you want about me and the shows. If I can tell you I will and also know this doing this blog and sharing the show from the day is of the blessing of the cast and crew. I treat this and everything I do like a job. I will NEVER speak negative about the shows however if I see something I don't like I will always find the Positive in it. I know I need Good Day Sacramento and Mark at the Movies more than they need me and I will always be there to support them the best I can in a way to give back to all who have helped me and continue to help me get better and motivate me to fight each day to beat this stupid tumor.
I want to especially thank Cody, Mark, Tina, Courtney, Kristin, Producer Tessa, Cambi, Lori, Melissa, Julissa, Laura, Marianne, Ken, Producer Don and Jet, and more for all they have done and do for me.
Starting Thursday my Opening Statement will become a closing and the favorite story or the story of the day will be placed in this spot with the Best of the Rest staying in its current spot.

Favorite Story of the Day: Drumline:
Today's favorite story of the day day was the Grant HS Drumline. What they are about to do next year is such an honor I hope they can reach the money they need.
Grant Drumline is heading to Washington DC and needs $100,000 to get there. So today they gave a special performance in and around the newsroom led by Courtney and Tina. Courtney also led the group on parade to McDonald's with Cambi in tow in Mobile 13 which in my opinion stole the show. It was classic Good Day Sacramento.

Levi's Stadium Tour:
About a month ago or so Melissa headed to Levi's Stadium for the first PreSeason game, however could not get on the grounds. Well today that all changed and Ken got a personal tour of Levi's Stadium. Ken checked out the Gift Shop, Theater, Replica of Bill Walsh's Office. He also got into the visitor's locker room as well as checking out the art work and the kitchen and bar area.
Push-up Queen:
Local girl Maria attempted to break the push-up record but fell short of that record but she still did a lot more than I could ever do.
Car Part Art:
Julissa was in Roseville today with artist Ben Newman who takes old car parts and turns them into works of art. Ben took 5 of his pieces to Burning Man and only uses parts from the 20's-70's Most of his art are bugs. Will be on display tonight at Rancho Cordova City Hall.

Idris Elba joined to talk about his new movie No Good Deed in Theaters this Friday
Dishin at Topwater Cafe:
This week's feature on Dishin With Tina is Topwater Cafe in Lodi. They have a Gluten free menu plus they have candied bacon. Stay tuned to Good Day Weekend with Cody and Lori, Sunday for another feature on Dishin With Tina
