S'More Mark & Cody Please.... Today in the News 5/13/2015



Today's Recap:
It's Wednesday May 13th the 2nd Anniversary of the start of Today in the News. For those not familiar 2 years ago Cody Stark suggested the idea that I start it and everyday since Monday May 13th I have written my recap of Good Day and later added Mark at the Movies on Sunday's. In today's edition Tina is Dishin at Zia's Deli in Sacramento, In addition to Dishin remember Monday when Nha was taking the Garden Tour? She ran out of time to show part 2. Today we see it. A new bar is opening in Davis but this is not your average bar. This bar is a S'mores Bar and they deliver. The Lipstick Giraffe is back with yet another amazing creation and so much more in today's edition of S'More Mark & Cody Please.... Today in the News....



How do you start your day off? With S'mores and a new S'mores Bar in Davis. Alexis got this lucky assignment as she then headed out for a special delivery of the tasty treat. 



Nha was in El Dorado Hills for the Home Garden tour taking place this weekend



Courtney brought in the Lipstick Giraffe to show off the Pencil Skirt. as part of the Ageless style. One question to come up is how to water trees during the drought? Courtney met up with a local Arborist to learn some tips and tricks. 



The Nationals Veterans Ride kicked off today in Auburn as Vets ride across country to Washington DC in honor of Vets who didn't make it home. Mark was with them for a part of the ride. Mark also presented Eleanor with flowers and gifts for Receptionist Day. 



Cambi started her day at the 15th Annual Lineworkers Rodeo. This event takes place Saturday as Power Companies take part in pol climbing and other events that show off their talents. To finish up her day Cambi was getting a preview of Gather Oak Park. This event takes place every second Thursday now until October in Oak Park full of fun, food, music and more. 



It's a Dirty Job but someone got to do and today Ken learned how to dispose of Grease from restaurants and what becomes of it afterwards. Ken was helping SRC as they picked up the grease. 



Are you or your kids into Lacrosse? Today Kristin was at Lacrosse Fanatic in Sacramento. This is the only shop in this area like it of it's kind. Plus they have an awesome raffle going on now. 



At the start of the show it looked like Ken was missing but he had an alarm clock issue and in fact made it however late. Mark, Cody, Alexis, and Marianne did a great job covering before Mark and Alexis left for their live shots. Cody stayed to tells us the weather until Ken left to go on his life shot. Then Cody moved back over to the desk just in time for Alexis to deliver the S'mores from Jen at S'mores Bar. Based on Marianne and Cody's reaction they are amazing. What else is amazing is Mark going to ride a motorcycle with Vets as they headed out from Auburn to Washington DC to honor the fallen. If you have never seen this type of ride on the road it is incredible. Not only did Mark do that but before he left he gave Eleanor 3 dozen roses with a movie to celebrate her day. Cambi was back after 2 days off camera talking and Kristin was home in a local Lacrosse store called Lacrosse Fanatic. This store has everything you can think of for Lacrosse. Veterans Awareness Ride
Today on Good Day Mark took part in the The National Veterans Awareness Ride that is a ten day ride across America, from Sacramento, CA (Auburn) to Washington, DC. During this ride, we visit veterans’ hospitals and homes to spend time with vets and thank them for their service. We speak at schools about the pride of patriotism and the importance of veterans in our society. And we participate in memorial services that honor military personnel who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. The ride leaves for Washington, DC from the Auburn Veterans Hall on Wednesday, May 13 at 8am.

Cambi: Lineworkers Rodeo
Today on Good Day Cambi was checking out The 15th Annual American Public Power Association (APPA) Lineworkers Rodeo takes place Saturday, May 16 with electric utility lineworkers from across the USA competing to be the best. The community is invited to watch more than 300 public power apprentice and journey lineworkers vie for trophies by competing in timed events that test their essential skills in a safe environment. Some of the events take place 40 feet atop utility poles.
