#BigDayOfGiving ... Today in the News 5/5/2015



Today's Recap:
Today is Tuesday May 5th and it's Cinco De Mayo and a Big Day of Giving. Today's show will cover both events from Meals on Wheels, to a shoe shopping spree event to benefit Child Abuse. It's also a Day of Giving for Doug The Car Czar who will be in Stockton all morning. Good Day is also wanting their viewers to get involved Alexis and Cambi will have more details and for all of what is taking place this is #BigDayOfGiving ... Today in the News....



Recap:
Kristin started her day in Woodland as Meals on Wheels prepared meals for the Elderly for about 350-400 people in the area on this Big Day of Giving.

As the Big Day of Giving Continues Cambi was at UCP of Sacramento as they look for your donations to help with gas, maintenance to help get their riders to and from appointments. They travel over 400 miles a day and rely heavily on donations to keep the buses going. Cambi also hopped on board as they picked up riders. Cambi continued Big Day of Giving at Project Ride. Project Ride is a organization that helps kids with therapy with teaching to ride a horse.



With the drought in full effect Marianne was with a rose expert getting tips on how to take care of them during the drought. Marianne was in the kitchen making the Chipotle Guacamole that they released. on Sunday.



Tina was talking with Shawn Habermehl and Kat Maudru about the Me One Foundation who sends kids with cancer to camp. They are looking for volunteers to help at the camp. Tina was then in the kitchen as part of Cinco De Mayo with a local Food Blogger Jill Silverman Hough showing off an olive recipe and drinks to go with it.



Nha was with Wellsprings Women's Center learning all about what they do and how your donations help their program on this Big Day of Giving.



Courtney had her post Met Gala Fashion Forum prior to her Shoe Shopping Event. Courtney was at Famous Footwear where she had 45 seconds to grab as many shoes to donate the cost to Child Abuse Prevention Center Courtney grabbed $504.93.

Meals on Wheels in Woodland cooked fresh, hot meals to be delivered the same day to homebound clients, senior centers and other locations for people in need. They prepared meals as early as this morning – looking to make between 350-400 meals.
