It's All Fun and Games... Today in the News 5/21/2015



Today's Recap:
The day after David Letterman had his send off we can look forward to the weekend once we get through today. On today's show Gina from Thrift Town. Gabe from Travelzoo with some Summer getaway ideas. comedian Stephanie Garcia will be appearing at Laughs Unlimited and will show you some Pinterest fails. Take your dog to the park this Sunday when the River Cats invite your dog to watch them take on Memphis. Sacramento SPCA is back today with your Pet of the Week. All this and more in the May 21st edition of It's All Fun and Games.... Today in the News



Melissa:
Don't you hate when something looks so easy and when you try it, it fails? Melissa was with Stephanie Garcia who showed Pinterest Fails plus you can sell her at Laughs Unlimited May 29th. Tired of losing your hair? Melissa showed a new technology that will help you replace it.



Alexis:
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt then you have to do an operation. Well that's sort of true this weekend. Taking place today - the weekend is the Sa County Fair where you can play games like Operation, Connect Four, Put giant bubbles around your friends and so much more. Alexis was at Cal Expo checking out all the fun activities. Mark then teamed up with Alexis for a Corn Dog Eating contest with Molly Schuyler the 3 Steak dinner eater we met last month. Alexis then headed to a Senior Home where they encourage walking and exercise like Chair exercise at Liberty Towers.



Kristin:
Kristin was at Raley Field where this Sunday they are hosting Bark and the Park where you can bring your pooch to the game.



Marianne/Ken: 
Marianne and Ken talked with Rick Schroder Actor/Film Maker joined to talk about his new documentary The Fighting Season about the war in Afghanistan. Ken talked about the First Fest taking place May 23rd before D.U.S.T performed on the Good Day stage. 



Mark/Tina:
The 75th Annual Bug-O-Rama is this weekend Mark and Tina both headed there to check out the classic cars and go head to head in a friendly Bug Race. The race took place and thought Tina did well she came in 2nd to Mark. 



Courtney: 
Sacramento SPCA was back for Pet of the Week. Courtney was getting to know the little Puppy. Courtney then headed to Thrift Town to teamed up with Project Runway contestant Richard Hallmarq to show you how to take an outfit from a magazine and make it your own on the cheap. 



Gina: 
End of the school year is here or will be shortly so Gina from Thrift Town showed off some gift ideas for kids to give to teachers. 



Quick Thought:
One of the things I have been loving about Good Day Thursday's are the #9amtopics to go with the day. Music, TV shows, and today board games. One game I am not familiar with was Pit. Cody played this game as a kid and said it was hours of fun. If Cody says it then I believe his word. But board game discussions started when Alexis was at Sac County Fair checking out one of the exhibits with board games like a GIANT Connect Four, Operation and more plus they have GIANT Bubbles you can wrap your friends in. Once she finished that it was more fun and games when a tiger spotted Camera Guy Terry. Pretty sure the tiger wasn't thinking about Standup Paddleboards it looked like it was hungry. Then Mark joined up with Alexis to go head to head with Molly. You may remember she was the lady who ate 3 steak dinners for fun last month and gained public notoriety. Mark basically faced off against Jaws... he never had a chance. Kristin was checking out Bark at the Park and Mark and Tina went head to head in a Bug Car race. This race was pretty epic. I thought Tina would pull it out at the end. When not playing games Courtney was learning how to save on fashion  at Thrift Town. Speaking of Thrifty Town Gina amazed once again for end of the year student/teacher gift ideas. Bark at the Bark is this Sunday where the River Cats and Front Street Shelter are teaming up Sunday. Kristin got a preview. Melissa was making Pinterest ideas but most of them failed. ..

What a fun day to start thinking about the weekend. Alexis really got the day going with her checking out the games at Sac County Fair. Then Mark trying to beat a Eating Champion. But I think today's favorites consisted of Courtney with Richard Hallmarq. Kristin previewing Bark at the Park. Melissa with Stephanie Garcia. Mark and Tina racing Bug Cars against each other. Gina from Thrift Town. Cody and Laura talking old games and Tracy saying she cheated at Battleship. Don't worry Tracy I'm sure I peeked while playing too. But most of all today's favorite was everyone who works so hard to put on the show including those you don't see.
