Final Thoughts:
With no movies to really speak of this week I'm going to end this weeks thoughts on Mark at the Movies talking about the show itself. For 275 shows I've watched week in and week out. Not just once a week not just once in awhile or on a viewer CD. No I endure the commercials, I wake up every Saturday for its first showing at 430am on CW Network to watch it live s it happens only to go back at 5am to re-watch and start breaking down. Then I watch the Reelzchannel feed once it airs at 8am PST later in the afternoon because I have another commitment at 8am I then watch the 11pm show every Sunday night back on the CW and Monday off the Apple App. For those counting that is 5 times in 3 days I am watching Mark at the Movies. With that said I am not your average person and would never accept anyone to watch as much as I do. Hell I don't think Mark watches as much as I do. My point is you can't watch this show once and hate it.
Is the show perfect? No it's not, Is it entertaining? If you can laugh then yes. Is it enough information in its 22 - 23 actual minutes of the show? Yes, and if you want more you can always contact each member on their social media sites and chat with them or ask questions. Don't quote me on this but I believe each junket interview is 9-11 minutes long and do you really want to hear the same boring answers you can get anywhere. These actors and actresses have proven time and time again they can be difficult to interview so why not use ice breakers like Angelina Jolie about her nibbles being airbrushed or what someone may enjoy for a meal as long as you bring it back to the movie or break up the show with laughter and showing the actors are people too. In the time Mark at the Movies has been on a lot has changed and that includes the line up. Gone are the days of Mark and Ashley Williams but even though Mark found great replacements when Ashley left the numbers showed viewers wanted change so enter the current line up and format. I still remember the day Anna burst on the scene dropping knowledge that blew everyone out of the water Now Mark has added more to the line up and getting to know them they are all well respected in their field.
A couple of things that bothered me the most about Bryan's article was his harsh criticism of Floor Director Julian. Please excuse my language. Julian started as a an intern as a camera guy who proved he was better than an intern and worked his way up the ladder and is now one of the finest floor directors as well as camera guys, interviewers, and very good at getting the show out on Social Media each and every week. Plus he knows more about Marvel movies and characters than I will EVER know so big deal he did a show dressed at Baymax it proves Julian can laugh at himself. The other thing that really upsets me is the Eye Candy comment. Maybe they are Eye Candy but what they really are are people with real feelings, with real knowledge, with real opinions. Rachel is by far one of the smartest people i've ever met and knows her stuff. Brian is the real eye candy of the show as everyone know but he is also one of the most prominent business owners and has a very successful Comedy Spot in Sacramento. Alexa is a very good interviewer. I love her junket interviews and well as her insight of the movies talked about. A already told you how I feel about Anna but had not said how GREAT of a person she is off camera. Heather is not only a great person but an excellent reporter and mother of 2 beautiful kids. Checkout her interview with T-Bone Burnett and Issac Oscar from Inside Llewyn Davis in Episode 218. IT was one of the BEST Interviews I've seen on Mark at the Movies. Jordyn is fairly new to the Mark at the Movies family but she too also brings a ton of knowledge to the show as Dionna does as well. I love her honest opinions. So while they all might be easy on the eyes and very beautful to look at remember they are all people too. They are someones Mom, Daughter, Son, Dad, brother, Sister and neighbor.
Maybe this show is no Siskel and Ebert but in my opinion it's the BEST Review show on TV and so no one forgets, It is a 3 time Emmy Award Winner so Scoreboard.
Thank you for a great 2014 and coming back in 2015. I will see you at the Movies...
