Final Thoughts:
This week on Mark at the Movies Episode 278 Mark kicked the show off talking about American Sniper with Marine Brandon Banks. Last weeks opening of American Sniper was the biggest in January for any movie and the biggest for Clint Eastwood. So with it winning this week and last why so much hate from Hollywood? My guess and only a guess without any knowledge is Michael Moore, Seth Rogen, and Bill Maher perhaps its jealousy I don't know but why rip a man who had a job to do and kept other service men and women protected? Make a decent movie and maybe they could be #1.
Once we got into what's new this week Mark and crew talked about Mortdecai with Johnny Depp and Paul Bettany. Though everyone liked it Rachel, Dionna thought it was more worth renting than seeing in the theaters and based on how it finished most people who saw movies this weekend thought the same thing. Ouch.
In the next movie talked about this week The Boy Next Door starring Jennifer Lopez who can be seen each week on American Idol went back to her acting and does very well. However it wasn't so much the movie that did it for me but Alexa's interview with Jenny from the Block. In my opinion though Alexa has had some nice interviews this was far and away the BEST I've every seen from her. Not only did Alexa do so well but she has such admiration for Jennifer it would have been understandable for her to be nervous. Alexa handled it with class, professionalism and did an OUTSTANDING Job.
Break from the Movies:
In a break from the Movies Mark showed the Critics Choice Awards clip that got cut where he along with cast member of Magic Mike introduced Michael Strahan as the awards show host.
DVD:
Three new movies hit the store shelves on DVD this week with Annabelle, The Boxtrolls with Sir Ben Kingsley and The Drop which was one of the last James Gandolfini movies before his passing.
It was a pretty light week for movie releases but it was a fun week on Mark at the Movies. Next week Kevin Costner leads the way in new movies with his new one opposite of Octavia Spencer in Black or White so until then I will see you at the movies.
