Favorite Story / Story of the Day: Special Cup of Coffee, Luxe For Life, Chicken Soup, Teal Pumpkins, Community Service For Kids:
Proving that in a time of need people always come together as one and make amazing things happen. That could not be more evident today with these 5 GREAT Stories. 



Leading off the day Dutch Bros. Coffee owners in the Sacramento area are raising funds to support the families of Sacramento Sheriff Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County Sheriff’s Detective Michael David Davis Jr. Proceeds from the sales at all nine Sacramento-area Dutch Bros. shops will go to support the families of the fallen officers. Donations will be made to Placer 10-35 and The Star 6 Foundation. Click here for donation information.

Having worked in Foster Care for 3 years I understand how much the Children's Home - Nursery Crisis Center is very important to kids, and family. They are struggling to stay open and if they close families in need of a safe place to go will have to go to the streets or stay in environments that no kid should ever have to be in. Today on Good Day Cambi was at the Crisis Center talking about Luxe For Life. In Connection with Pinc Sacramento and Children's Home Sacramento Luxe For Life takes place Saturday, November 8 6:00 p.m. The Center  2300 Sierra Blvd.  Sacramento, CA and Tickets are $80. 
 


If that wasn't enough we've all read Chicken Soup for the Souls and now they are helping with an event now - November 7. From Good Day: To encourage pet adoptions in Stockton and beyond, Chicken Soup for the Soul is joining forces with Stockton Animal Services! Chicken Soup for the Soul is donating 10,000 pounds of its pet food to support the shelter’s homeless animal initiatives. They will also give a bag of pet food and a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Dog Did What? or Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Cat Did What? by Amy Newmark to all new pet parents who adopt from Stockton Animal Services until Nov. 7!



Food Allergies are a big concern anytime of the year but right now with kids going out to trick or treat it's important to remember not all kids can peanuts, chocolate etc. So today Julissa was in Carmichael where a group of kids are painting pumpkins teal to remind us all about food allergies. The local couple behind this event lost their daughter Natalie to a Rice Krispie Treat that had peanut butter in it and they found out she was allergic to it. In Roseville today the Creative Kids Community Center has just opened a new location and Courtney was there as they teach kids all about community service. The Creative Kids Community Center has 2 locations in Roseville and Elk Grove if you are interested see the link below.

Marianne: Bag ‘O Bones
How about munching on a tasty but slightly horrifying Halloween treat? We’ll show you how to make a cute but scary snack you can make at home for your boys and ghouls called “Bag of Bones”!
BAG OF BONES
2 c meltable white chocolate
Pretzel sticks
Mini marshmallows
baking parchment
microwave-safe bowl
spatula
Melt chocolate in microwave-safe bowl, starting with one minute. Stir. Continue melting at 30-second intervals and stirring afterwards until chocolate is smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
Put a marshmallow on each end of a pretzel stick. Holding stick as close to one marshmallow as you can, dip the other end into the chocolate. Shake off some of the excess, but not all. Place on parchment to dry.
When chocolate is dry (about 15 minutes), gently pick up the stick from the chocolate-covered end and dip the other end into the chocolate. Shake off a little, and place it back on the parchment with the dry flat side down. Wait 15+ minutes, and you've got your BAG OF BONES!!

Based on recently released Census Bureau data, women made up almost half of the workforce last year. Yet, even working full-time and year-round, they were paid only 79 cents for every dollar men made. The wage gap varies considerably between states. Cambi was in Sacramento today previewing a special event taking place on Saturday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m. Luxe for Life to benefit at risk kids because the center is struggling to stay open will be held at The Center 2300 Sierra Blvd. Sacramento, CA Tickets $80



Chicken Soup for Pets:
