Favorite Story / Story of the Day:
Today's favorite story of the day is the Sac Burger Battle which is coming up this Thursday, September 18 at Cesar Chavez Plaza and Taro from Mikuni's is competing. He has created the Mik-Tuna mini burger.



The burger battle was created by Rodney Blackwell who raises money and awareness to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America because of his daughter.



Good/Bad news is the event is sold out for this year but stay tuned for the next one so you can go and taste delisous burgers like Taro's.



This is today's Favorite story of the day because of Rodney's cause.

Ju: Play-Doh Day
Recipe
1 cup flour
1 cup water
1/4 cup salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
Food coloring (I used 4 drops)
Just dump all the ingredients into your pot and give them a good stir. Enlist some small help if possible – they will think you are magic.
Put your pot on the stove and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it forms into a ball.
As soon as it joins into one big glob, take it off the heat and dump it onto your counter or some wax paper. Wait for it to cool, then knead it a few times until it is nice and soft. This is where you have to use a little self control to let the kids have a turn too.:)

Kristin: Free Clinic For Veterans
Dozens of service providers and government agencies will be on-hand to assist our veterans in obtaining the benefits and services they have earned from a grateful nation. Sleeping arrangements will be provided for up to 100 veterans who wish to stay overnight. Meals will be provided for all veteran. 300-400 veterans from around the region are expected to attend the three-day event.
