Opening Statement:
Cody's Birthday is coming up this month so I was thinking what could I get the guy who loves, Sci-Fi and so many other things? So during my search the story about The Today Show supplies Matt Lauer a helicopter ride to and from work. In Fact Cody was the first person I saw post the story. Then yesterday Cody was at the California Capital Airshow and he and Camera Guy Dave took a photo of a Harrier. So here is my idea, If Matt Lauer can have a helicopter pick him up why not have a Harrier Jet pick Cody up? It's faster than the Prius, It can totally beat traffic, and when they take off and land they it so cool to watch. So lets all chip in our money and get Cody this for his birthday.... Okay maybe not I'll go back to the drawing board but in the meantime here is what is talking place Today in the News Saturday Edition....

Today some lucky kids will get the shopping spree of a lifetime thanks to the people from the 20-30 Club and Kohl’s.
The 20-30 Club of Sacramento has selected over 100 kids this year from low-income households and are stocking their carts with $125 of clothes, shoes and personal items. In many cases, these children have grown up wearing hand-me-downs, and they’ve never had clothes of their very own. In addition, the kids are being given a backpack full of age-appropriate school supplies to get them started on a path of learning and free haircuts by the Paul Mitchell School, a hot breakfast and a visit from local firefighters in their fire truck.

Favorite Story of the Day: Capital Airshow:
Heather was at the California Capital Airshow checking out a cool Army exhibit and then checked out the Top Secret F-22 that had ropes, gates and oh yeah armed guards around it so all you can do is look but not touch. However it was these 2 live shots that caught my eye today because it fit perfectly with the opening of wanting to get Cody the Harrier for his Birthday that makes this my favorite story of the day. 



Shopping Spree:
Today some lucky kids were treated to a Shopping Spree from Sacramento 20-30 and Kohls. Cambi was there for all the action. This organization is looking for volunteers. 



Water Skier:
Professional Water Skier Brian Detrick was in studio talking about the sport and the event taking place next weekend.



Auburn Ball Boy:
Jeremy Henderson from www.wareaglereader.com joined to talk about the Auburn Football Ball boy who was seen running down the sidelines during last weeks Auburn game as fast as the reciever was who scored. 



Spin It:
When you here Spin Fest you think workout, today Tina was in Carmichael Park checking out Spin Fest Hula Hooping taking place Sunday. 



Polish Festival:
Today Heather was in Roseville checking out the 25th Annual Polish Festival. 



Mariachi Concert:
The first ever Mariachi Concert is taking place in Sacramento tomorrow but today we got a preview when one of the performers, Dinorah took the Good Day Stage for 2 performances. Plus she revealed her step grandmother is the woman in Mexico who just turned 127 years old.



Ride For MS: 
Today Cambi was at Folsom Lake talking about the NorCal Equestrian Challenge Ride for MS 2014 with Country Baby Girls taking place October 4. You can sponsor the riders by going to the website.

Legendary Sports play by play guy Barry Tompkins joined in studio to talk about his life and times as a broadcaster and his new job of Play by Play for the UC Davis Aggies Football Team. Barry also told about filming Rocky it took 2 weeks to film one scene. 



Smoke on the Water:
Today Cambi was checking out the Smoke on the River BBQ cookoff. For $55 you get all you can eat and drink plus proceeds go towards at risk kids. 



Raiders:
Tina want to a Raiders Vs Broncos football game today. Okay so it was Flag Football and the Southgate Youth Raiders but it was still the Raiders vs Broncos.

Cambi was at Sacramento Ballet checking in on the auditions for the Nutcracker. 



Jimmy Collar:
Today Cody talked about the book Jimmy Collar and His One and Only Dollar by Aifya T Moore, the artist also joined to talk to about the book. 



Soccer Mom Laughs:
Cheryl the Soccer Mom stopped by the studio to talk about her show tonight at Tommy T's at 7pm.



Hot Headlines:
Melissa talked about friends remembering Joan Rivers as investigation continues if possible wrongful death.



Cyclocross Grand Prix:
Today Heather was checking out the Cyclocross Grand Prix in West Sacramento at River Walk Park taking place between 10-5pm today. 



Day of Preparedness
Tina was at California Day of Preparedness in Old Sac. She went into a simulator that shows what it feels like during the a 7.0 earthquake as well as what it felt like during the Napa Quake. She also got tips on how all of us should prepare for a quake or any other disasters. 



Loyal Roots:
Loyal Roots came in to show off their new product in time for football.
