Opening Statement:
Before Cody and Amy came Chris and Stefanie on the weekend show. I have been a fan since that time. The hours of the show went from 7am-10am at that time. It wasn't until Taryn took over the show expanded to 6-10am. However it would eventually move into the current for of what we have today. The reason behind this story is to show you that in life change can and will happen but when you adjust to it everything turns out normal.

Nina will not be joining us this week, she is currently touring NYC.

Mel: Hen Adoption
Animal Place, the farmed animal sanctuary that rescued 3000 egg-laying hens last fall, is stepping in to save up to 1800 more hens from a Chico egg farm that is going out of business. This time they have assistance from the Sacramento SPCA; however, the groups can only accomplish this feat if people are willing to adopt these clucky girls! These are all sassy red hens only 8-12 months old. Unfortunately the usual outcome for egg-laying hens in factory farms is death by gas. Even though they have many years of life ahead of them, once their egg production slows down, at 12-18 months, hens are killed and replaced with new ones. In the last three years Animal Place has rescued more than 12,000 former egg-laying hens, and placed most in adoptive homes throughout California and even Oregon and Washington.

It's Sunday so Eleanor was in studio with her Juicy Gossip. Cambi was checking out what's for breakfast in Lodi and Denis Country Kitchen. Doug The Car Czar made a rare Sunday appearance to talk about how to save money at the pump as well as talk about his event coming up on March 30, 2014 which is also including former Voice Contestant Jeremy Briggs who along with Kelly Symone joined Cody in Studio to talk further of the event. Today is National Puppy Day so Show us your topic is Puppy. The #GDSJustCurious topic was What movie from a book didn't stink.  

8am:
The Car Czar was back answering viewer Facebook questions as well as Kelly and Jeremy in studio. Kelly talked of this current Car Czar event coming up March 30th but also other events coming up throughout the year. Melissa was watching Rob Jones ride off as he continues his journey to San Diego. Cody also talked with Genny Heikka about her Part Time Author Podcast where she gives tips to help you write a book and she has her own book coming out soon called Finding Mommy Bliss. Amy talked to Blue Vignette about DIY Spring Decor. Plus it is Sunday so that means Tina was Dishin With Tina and today was Marianne's choice at Maalouf's. 

9am:
The fun continued this hour with Brad Loomis a kid Cody and Kevin met at the recent Comic Con in Sacramento who with help from his dad made the ULTIMATE Transformer Costume. Melissa was checking to see What's for Breakfast at Sandy's in Fairfield where they have 101 omelets including everything even the Kitchen Sink which is one that comes with 6 eggs and every ingredient. Cambi was finding more incredible deals at the Lodi Estate Sale. Cambi went from Lodi to Roseville to check out the Rock and Mineral Show. Cody met a local Lincoln Couple trying to win a Dream wedding. Be sure to vote for them once a day until April 2, 2014. Amy was back with the Blue Vignette with more GREAT furniture ideas Green Papaya Food Truck melted Cody's mouth with their delicious food. 

10am:
Green Papaya Food Truck was back with Thai food for Cody this hour. Melissa was talking to a local Vacaville group involved in rescuing and adopting hens program. Cody and Amy talked with Tina Ferguson from Face in a Book in El Dorado Hills about Divergent. Tina has not seen the movie that just released Friday but you can see a 30 minute Special Edition of Mark at the Movies tonight on #CW31 at 11pm, plus Today in the News Highlight blog later today. Cambi was at the California Academic Decathlon event in Sacramento. Cody talked with one local family who got the BEST surprise EVER when KNCI's Pat and Tom posted video of Dad, Gary coming home from serving 2 tours duty. Let's hope he can stay home forever now.

Final Thoughts:
Today kicked off like any other Sunday with our favorite Gossip Queen Eleanor sharing her Hollywood Gossip. Plus the World Wide Release of Divergent spawned today's #GDSJustCurious topic and the viewers responded with some good answers and who doesn't love puppies? Today is National Puppy Day so lots of pictures were sent in of cute ones. 

As stated Nina was off this week so that met Cambi and Melissa covered the field on their own. 

Cambi was in Lodi seeing what was for Breakfast at Denis's Country Kitchen before heading to a Lodi Estate Sale with a ton of Bargains. After shopping she went to a Gem and Mineral event in Roseville before she put on her Smart hat at a Sacramento Decathlon. 

Melissa was also busy. First she was talking with Rob Jones a double amputee riding his bike to raise funds and awareness. Be sure to follow Rob's Journey on his webpage, Facebook and/or Twitter. After this Melissa was off to Fairfield to find out what was for breakfast at Sandy's. Sandy's has been around for years and they have 101 omelets. After cooking the eggs she went to a Hen Rescue/Adoption event in Vacaville. 

As I said Amy was back today but on crutches but that didn't stop her from checking out all the great items from Blue Vignette from Roseville who was in Studio. Amy also participated in talking to one local book store owner who came into talk about Divergent the Book and it's series. 

Cody was also busy today covering quite a few segments. First Cody talked about the Car Czar Event with both recent Voice Contestant Jeremy Briggs who in my opinion was wrongly let go but their loss is our gain because you can see Jeremey March 30th at Strikes in Elk Grove. Cody was back to talk more about the Car Czar event and others planned throughout the year with Kelly Symone. Kelly is a promotions director for Hit Shop Records but lives here in Sacramento. Events include... April 11 Poker Tourney with KHTK's Keith Brooks. Pool Party at Faces on April 12. April 25 Crab Feed with Petri Byrd and Mark S. Allen. Cody also got to taste test delicious foods from Green Papaya Food Truck not for just 1 segment but 2. Cody talked with Genny from Part Time Author Podcast who has some GREAT ideas for writers like myself and Cody. Cody also got to talk with a local Lincoln couple trying to win a DREAM Wedding and we can help them by voting each day. by following the link above. During the recent Comic Con in Sacramento Cody and Kevin met a kid and and dad who made a cool Transformer costume. Plus Cody got to talk to KHTK's 1140, Carmichael Dave yesterday well today he brought the brains of the show in and talked with Keith Brooks who dropped his knowledge on the NCAA Tournament.
