Today in the News Weekend Edition Part 2... It's Magically Delicious 3/16/2014

Opening Statement:
Today I need to address something on my mind. Someone I've never met but have admired for years had cancer of the jaw a few month ago. After a successful surgery and treatment the cancer went away. On Friday I got word the cancer came back. The person I am talking about is Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Kelly, Despite the outcome Jim lead the Buffalo Bills to 4 straight Super Bowls in the late 80's and early 90's. It's no secret that I am a huge Buffalo Bills fan but this has nothing to do with football but everything to do about life. Unfortunately we all know someone who has, had and died from this horrible disease. WE MUST STOP IT!!! WE MUST FIND A cure. I challenge all of you to take a moment and stop and think, thank and mourn those you know in recovery, and/or have past away and also pass on your well wishes just by in your mind by saying #PrayersforJK Thank you.

Cambi: Shamrock’n Half Marathon
Run Leprechaun run! It’s time for the annual Shamrock’n Half Marathon. This 13.1 mile course goes throughout Sacramento and will end on the homeplate base at Raley Field. Over 8,500 people are participating in the race and hundreds are expected to come and spectate. There will be 14 bands playing (one at every mile of the race) as well as food and other forms of entertainment. Good Day's very own Nina Hajian, and Kevin Hernandez are also ran in the Half Marathon! This is a great way for everyone to get into the St. Patrick’s Day Spirit!

Nina, Melissa did not appear on today's show for good reason. Nina ran the Half marathon and Melissa was scheduled to but had to back out at the last minute. But today's show was so busy it really didn't need to add anymore features. 
Christianne and Cambi did GREAT in the field and Amy and Cody did GREAT at the studio though the two lovely ladies were missed we did get to see Melissa as part of the Dishin With Tina segment this weekend..

7am:
Happy St. Patrick's Day Good Day Weekend Style. This morning the cast and crew dressed in Green to kick the celbration off early. Christianne was in Roseville at Gingers seeing what's for breakfast. Cambi was getting her Irish drink on and looking up kilts at 36 Handles and 2 local Lodi moms start up their own businesses. 1 makes Cork art from Wine bottles while the other makes blinged out Wine Glasses in fact she has a couple of celebrity clients. Eleanor was also in the building giving up all the Hollywood Gossip including Miley's new tattoo on her lip... WHY!! Today the Just Curious topic was If I had more money than sense I would buy and the Show us your topic was show your Good Luck Charm. 

8am:
In this hour Cambi was playing games and getting a WWII Demonstration at 36 Handles in El Dorado. Christianne was at de Vere’s who starts the party early today and tomorrow. They open at 9am Monday to get your St. Patrick's Day party going early with a Drum and Bagpipe performance from the Sacramento Fire Dept. Cody and Amy talked to Tracy Animal Shelter who is looking for a new home for Sunny the cat and her friend who got left behind at a hotel. They also talked to a cameraman and navigator from Dangerous Waters which premiers tonight for season 3. Amy talked with Heather from Party City with last minute party ideas and they decorated the studio. Today is Sunday and Tina was Dishin With Tina - The Bennett Family Choice at The Sandwich Spot. This is a GREAT place Sean and Melissa like to go with the kids. 

9am:
The 9am hour we saw Michaels Craft Store get crafty with Amy. Cambi at the finish line for the Shamrock Half Marathon talking with the runners. Christianne was in Fair Oaks with Sam's Kosher who will be closing for good Monday. They've been in business for 40 years. Cody was tasting the food from Wandering Boba's Food Truck while both Amy and Cody talked FREE Fishing at Pro Bass Shop in Manteca. Cody talked about a news website that he likes to look at called Newseum that covers news from all over the world. 

10am:
The weekend is never complete until the final hour of Good Day Weekend and today Cambi continued from the Shamrock Half Marathon Finish line where she talked with Good Day's Kevin. Cambi also let her fingers do the walking down the Nail Cam Red Carpet. The Frosting Queens did 2 segments first making Donut Holes and then frosting bacon with Amy. Flint Books appeared today talking about their books that they provide the art for and you provide the story. They have a Kickstarter program I hope you can check out. Christianne was at a new Pub. Field House American Sports Pub. O'Sullivan Dance Academy was in studio dancing Irish dance on the Good Day Stage and that was it. The show is over and now it's time to start the week as for Good Day the controls are turned back over to Ken and Marianne for the week and it will be a very busy week ahead but more on that later. 


Final Thoughts:
Today we missed Nina and Melissa but said hello to an old friend. Christianne was back onto running all over different restaurants and/or pubs. First Ginger in Roseville then de Verse followed by Sam's and finishing up with Field House. 

Cambi was also very busy she was also getting her party on at 36 Handles before heading to cover the finish at the Half Marathon at Raley Field where she got to chat with Kevin and one of her other friends. Cambi also showed off her nails in the Mani - Cam from Gloss Nails. 

Amy got crafty With Michael's and Party City who helped decorate the studio today. Plus she got frosty with the Frosting Queens. 

I have to admit yesterday Cody didn't sound very good but today sounded better. All I know is that I hope by Wednesday he is back to 100%. He did get to taste some good food as well from Wandering Boba Food Truck and I was glad he got to talk to Kevin about Flint Books. This is a pretty cool project and Kevin is a wonderful artist.

I am hoping that Sunny and friend can find a new home. I'm not a cat lover but no animal should ever be left behind. 

Today's was very busy and this week promises to be too. One quick side note... Tomorrow will be Good Day Sacramento Exclusive for Today in the News... I have to be fitted for a cast so time constraints are effecting my time.
