Final Thoughts:
Divergent Broke the Box Office this week, raking in $56 Million gave the competition no chance of catching them. Muppets Most wanted did finish in a very distant second followed by Mr. Peabody and Sherman in third. 300 took the 4th spot and God's Not Dead round out the top 5. It was predicted and completely expected for Divergent to win the Box Office this week which is why they Mark at the Movies devoted a complete 30 minute show to talk about it. I would think Divergent will take the top spot next week but Russell Crowe's Noah could give it a nice run for it's money. Muppets did get a nice endorsement from Good Day Sacramento's Cody Stark to took his kids to see it but it wasn't enough.
Speaking of Mark at the Movies as I said Mark and company devoted a full 30 minute special to Divergent and delivered another solid show. We got to see a new friend of the the Jamie Balaban and some old friends as well. Brian from American Comedy was in studio along with Mike on the Mic Osborn from the Sacramento River Cats, The beautiful Heather Brent, The talented Brittany Young from Warm Bodies, The up and coming princess Brooke Lusk, Everyone's favorite Biker Anna Wesselman and our favorite announcer Big Al plus some other friends who sat on the panel for this weeks show to go along with our Super Model Rachel and the man of many talents including the Kermit voice to open the show Mark S. Allen.
During the course of the show Mark and Rachel discussed the movie and characters with the panel but they also had 2 Skype guests this week. The first guest was Jamie Balaban who has her own website devoted to Divergent and some of the characters. I want to apologize but I know very little of this franchise being that I have not read the book nor have I seen the film so I am a bit lost as to what it is about.
The other Skype guest was Dominique from Beverly Hills Pawn who we first met back in February when she Skyped in to talk about Ride Along for Episode 228. Dominique brought 3 of her Pawn friends with her to the Skype and as she did when we first met her she delivered on this one talking about Divergent.
Finally one of the things I have always enjoyed about Mark at the Movies are their Special they have for big movies that will be coming out. Mark has been singing the praises of Divergent since January of this year if not late December. Mark flew to Chicago to go behind the scenes of this movie as well as invited guest to join him at the Red Carpet event in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. One thing I know about Mark is he knows how to pick out these special editions and I am excited to see what comes next.
