Holiday Memories.... Today in the News 12/13/2013:
Opening Statement:
Please allow me to have a special moment. Last night a local athlete from Stockton received one of the highest honors you can receive in collage football. Brandin Cooks, Wide Receiver for Oregon State won the Fred Biletnikoff award for outstanding Wide Receiver. Why does this hold special meaning? The first because I love stories of local people making good and he has done that. The other reason is because up until this year I never really had a college team to cheer for other than Syracuse and the only reason why is because I was born near there, and with my friendship with Cody Stark I became an Auburn Tiger fan #WarEagle but finally my niece just started to attend OSU and now we as a family all gather round the TV to watch their games and we hope that when they show a crowd shot my niece is in the shot. But this year they did well so it made it fun to watch and upon hearing of and studying about Brandin I became a fan of him. So with that said I am proud of local boys makes good and got what is taking place Today in the News.....

Final Thoughts:
Are you Ready..... My58 & Fox40 talked most of the day about the UFC Fights tomorrow night at Sleep Train Arena. Sorry for all my readers who are, I'm not that into it therefore I really can't talk much about it. I just hope the California Kid aka Urijah Faber wins. Other than that I can't therefore I won't comment on that.
Good Day Sacramento did not cover the UFC because they decided to tug at the heart strings most of the show. It all started with a cat that got stuck in a manhole and a not so dramatic rescue took place with Jason on the scene. Actually all kidding aside I was glad to see the cat was safely rescued and returned to its owner.
Mark was surviving the streets of New York as he prepared to sit down with Will Ferrell aka Ron Burgundy.
Cody was sent out to check out the new primates at the Folsom zoo and it turned into a Smut Fest. But luckily Good Day Sacramento had the hand on the button and most viewers didn't get the "show" with the Good Day Sacramento logo appearing. Cody also checked out a local boutique at a car wash.
Mel was learning and showing the art of glass blowing with a local shop in Auburn who had their shop featured with a ornament for the Clinton's.
However Tina, Ken, & Kristin won the live shots of the day. First Tina with a very special girl who raised money for another girl to have her room made over. Ken introduced us a young girl who had her Make a Wish come true to hangout and talk with Beyonce. If these aren't enough tear jerk moments then perhaps Kristin's will be. With many schools ending sessions today they had their holiday concerts and assemblies. One local mom and her kids school have the ultimate gift to any child when a loved one is deployed defending our country. Today 2 kids got a early Christmas gift when dad came home to surprise them. I'm tearing up now just thinking about how special this moment was. This scene never gets old seeing the faces on the kids face when mom or dad come home.
On that we danced into the weekend so Amy and Cody now take over the next 2 days. I will see you tomorrow but before I go one last thing on the #CodytoPasadena front, Cody revealed today that wife Carol is not thrilled about him wanting to go so for the next few days I'm going to concentrate on buttering up wife Carol who is one of the nicest people you could ever meet and is perfect for Cody, a beautiful wife and mother and if she wants me to wash her car 1 time a month for a year I will if #CodytoPasadena comes true.
