Early Morning on a August Summer Day the guest started to arrive the the California State Train Museum for what would be one epic day.
Mark and Cody already hard at work on the Railroad with Mark the Time keeper and Cody the Conductor. It was all aboard the #GoodDay20Anniv Party Train.
I arrived just before 630am just behind the GREAT Stew Oleson who still looks like he did 20 years ago.
Once Eleanor and Kevin Hernandez had myself and Best Friend check in we were ushered to where everything was taking place. From cool gift bags to T-shirts and food and drinks with a very cool display of Good Day Past and Present.
When we found our seats Cody was on stage getting ready for his weather report but did a camera check. First Camera 1 (Crowd Screams) Camera 2 (Crowd Screams) Camera 3 (Crowd Screams) Jib Cam (Crowd Screams)
As we sat and waited for the show to start at 7am I was able to chat with several friends including meeting Dan E. I also talked with The GREAT Tracy Ketchum, Scott Zentner, Terry Hags, Don Smith, Cameron Glen, Ken Rudulph, Cody Stark, Mark S. Allen and of course Marianne McClary as well as Stew Oleson. Then out of the blue the one and only Heather Picou came over. I haven't seen Heather since she left for LA and it was so great catching up.
For those who may not know Jet Townsend is one the the BEST artist for Good Day and does much of the art for the show. I was able to catch up with him as well.
One of the VIP's for the show today was the amazing artist David Garibaldi. David even did a painting outside and everyone at the show was very impressed.
During the course of the show other surprise guests were introduced from Chris Burrous, Aaron Negrette, and the former Good Day Boss Brett Baader.
As you know family is a big part of Good Day and Mark has sent his kids on a motorhome trip, Stuck in a car, Locked in IKEA and used them to do different interviews. Mark's wife and kids also made an appearance.
Tina shared a very special moment of the time she announced she had Breast Cancer and introduced us to several key people in her life including Kat Maudru (local radio legend)
During the course of the show a beautiful girl walked in on crutches and sit in the front row. It was none other than Nha Nguyen. After the show was over I was able to take a photo with her and my favorite Producer Tessa.
Prior to today's show Courtney previewed the New Mini Mega Map complete with Mini Remote Control Rover. I know they said it was limited but I really hope they keep it.
Also after the show it was time to catch up with more old friends. Melissa and Sean, Kristin Marshall, Drea, Mike Berger, Chris Emery, Noel, The Legend Tom Loffman and of course John Armand who worked so hard to make today happen. I met Kevin Walsh who is the head of Good Day. He is John's boss. We seemed to hit it off right away. One other person I was very excited to meet was the Hair Doctor Shawn L Brown. I didn't get a photo with her but it was great to see her.
Then one moment I thought would never happen was me meeting Cambi Brown. I finally got to meet her and I am so thankful.
This is getting long so I'll start wrapping it up and get ready for tomorrow's weekend show.
I want to take this time to say thank you to everyone who made this day possible. We give Corey Prince a hard time for his height challenge but Corey was spot on today and the show was perfect. Jonathan Meris, Chris Williams and the production crew. Julissa Ortiz for her great work on Social Media. John Armand for all his hard work on today's events and taking me under his wing as well as the invite. Most of All, Marianne, Ken, Cody, Mark, Tina, Courtney, Stew, Chris, Brett and the entire cast and crew of Good Day Sacramento from 1995 - 2015.
As the tag line says 19 years and 364 days longer than anyone expected. The reason for that is because of you the fans. Without you none of this is possible.
Thank you Good Day Sacramento and fans for giving us such a great show
Tune into Good Day tomorrow 7-11a with Cody, Melissa and the Weekend crew as Year 21 kicks off. No Pressure :)
