Final Thoughts:
This week at the Box Office The Lego Movie takes the top spot with over $48 million at the box office. Kevin Hart made a nice 2nd place with About Last Night followed by Robocop in 3rd, Monuments Men took the 4th spot and Endless Love rounded out the Top 5. Winters Tale finished at a disappointing 7th spot. With Valentines Weekend over and what appears to be a light week look for Robocop to improve on it's numbers but Pompeii could give the top spot a run for the money next week.
Mark at the Movies this week is Emmy worthy. From the opening skit with Petri Hawkins Byrd from Judge Judy portraying Samuel L. Jackson from a recent interview to Mark getting all the players in place in a short time to get this skit completed in time for showtime. In addition to the opening skit which in my opinion might be the BEST ever was this weeks Skype guests. These 2 cute kids stole the Skype with all their energy.
Moving on to what is new this week, in the short time Rachel has been handling the Co-hosting duties I can't remember a time she has been more excited on the show than this week. Rachel is such a GREAT host I really like her. She brings such a positive energy and is a true asset to Mark at the Movies. Not only is Rachel a GREAT host but her interview skills played out very well this week with her sit downs with Robocop stars, Joel Kinnaman, and Abbie Cornish (Sucker Punch). Before moving to the next movie Mike Mechanick had his rant about Robocop which he thought was better than he thought it would be but is tired of Hollywood taking old movies and redoing them. However Rachel was quick to point out that 3 or the big 4 movies this week are remakes.
After Robocop Winters Tale was the next movie to be talked about and yet another Skype guest and this week it was one of my favorites that we first met during Hunger Games Last year. More on Cassidy later.
Moving to the couch for the final review Heather Brent and Anna Wesselman enter into the show so that they along with Mark, Big Al, Petri and Rachel can all talk about "About Last Night" starring Kevin Hart and Regina Hall. Mark handled the interviews with this movie however it was Co-Star Mike Ealy who hijacked the interview when he entered the room. Mark had Mike ask a question or 2 while Mark was busy photo-bombing Kevin and Regina. After Mark took the interview back Regina slapped Mark and that turned into a discussion with this weeks panel of slapping and being slapped while the show credits rolled.
As I said at the beginning this show deserves an Emmy, it was by far one of the BEST Mark at the Movies in it's history and I have been watching since the pilot that starred Ashley Williams as Co-host who was a part of the 3 Emmy Awards Mark and the show have already won. I really want this group on the show to win an Emmy but honestly I would be happy if the show won a total of 5. They already have 3.
As I said one of my favorite guests to appear on the show is Cassidy Gard. Following this is much more on her and how you can follow Cassidy on Social Media.
Guests:
Cassidy Gard: Cassidy is one of my favorite recurring guest and she did not disappoint this week with her Skype chat about Winters Tale and her interview with Colin Ferrell. It is always GREAT to see Cassidy. Checkout more on Cassidy on these Social Media outlets.
