It's the final weekend of March and Melissa was out sick and therefore the Coupon Corner was postponed but Cody and Alexis held down the fort that featured many great stories.. Tina is back and she is getting down and Dirty at Dirty Girl Mud Run.Kevin filled in for Alexis who then was checking out a new art studio for kids, Cody talks with a very special person using Hair as art. Today on Good Day Cody and Alexis talked with Sybille Paulsen from Tangible Truths. She takes hair from Chemo patients and makes Jewelry. I have attached a portion of the website that explains more.

The themes of change and transformation run like a golden thread through our life. Some we welcome with open arms, while others we begrudgingly accept with a heavy heart. For my project TANGIBLE TRUTHS women who undergo chemotherapy leave their hair to me to transform it into a unique and personal piece of art. The title addresses the diverse experiences which are collected during this time. Each woman is touched differently by the sickness and its treatment. Not only the person concerned but also the people around them pass through a transformation in this period. Her partner, her family and friends experience her sickness in a personal manner as well. The artefacts that I create of the hair, mark this transformation and disclose a new access for the people involved to the commonly overwhelming situation. The change becomes visible, not only as the lost hair but further as its transformation into something valuable. Something abstract and difficult to comprehend becomes discernible, becomes tangible. The loss creates something new and the helplessness is juxtaposed against a tangible artefact. This object can be the introduction to an exchange of difficult feelings that are otherwise hard to communicate.

It was a great show today however I will say it felt different not having Melissa who is ill and Lori who is off. Also Nha is off this weekend. So with all 3 missing Alexis step in and did a fantastic job with Cody. Highlights from today include....
Tina was checking out Matchbook Wines Tasting room, Getting Down and Dirty at the Dirty Girl Run for Breast/Ovarian Cancer Awareness, She checked out a Craft Fair and scored some Raider Potholders and then checked out Huli Huli Chicken.
Cambi was hungry to start the show so she stopped off to find out what Carol's had for breakfast and then checked out new Spring foods and drinks at Corti Bros before going to Good Day at your Game in Citrus Heights and finished up with meeting 2 stars from Days of Our Lives.
Cody was checking out Crumple a new video game from Gabe a local designer. Beards and a GIANT Bunny from Snooks Candies.
Alexis was hanging with the Boys in the Band from Zero Gravity.
Because of no Melissa, Lori, or Nha Kevin filled in and did a GREAT job first playing bingo, eating Corndogs and Denio's and checking out a Grand Opening for Kids and eating Taco's at Wholefoods.

Today on Good Day Kevin was with the residents of Mistywood, a local independent senior living community in Roseville, who are hosting Bingo and Bakers for Babies in support March of Dimes. For only $10 per person and $1 per bingo card, participants can enjoy a baked potato bar and other snacks while playing bingo with residents for various prizes. All proceeds from the event will go to March of Dimes, which helps moms have full-term pregnancies and researches the problems that threaten the health of babies.

Cambi was hungry to start the show so she stopped off to find out what Carol's had for breakfast and then checked out new Spring foods and drinks at Corti Bros before going to Good Day at your Game in Citrus Heights and finished up with meeting 2 stars from Days of Our Lives.
Cody was checking out Crumple a new video game from Gabe a local designer. Beards and a GIANT Bunny from Snooks Candies.
Alexis was hanging with the Boys in the Band from Zero Gravity.
Because of no Melissa, Lori, or Nha Kevin filled in and did a GREAT job first playing bingo, eating Corndogs and Denio's and checking out a Grand Opening for Kids and eating Taco's at Wholefoods.

The themes of change and transformation run like a golden thread through our life. Some we welcome with open arms, while others we begrudgingly accept with a heavy heart. For my project TANGIBLE TRUTHS women who undergo chemotherapy leave their hair to me to transform it into a unique and personal piece of art. The title addresses the diverse experiences which are collected during this time. Each woman is touched differently by the sickness and its treatment. Not only the person concerned but also the people around them pass through a transformation in this period. Her partner, her family and friends experience her sickness in a personal manner as well. The artefacts that I create of the hair, mark this transformation and disclose a new access for the people involved to the commonly overwhelming situation. The change becomes visible, not only as the lost hair but further as its transformation into something valuable. Something abstract and difficult to comprehend becomes discernible, becomes tangible. The loss creates something new and the helplessness is juxtaposed against a tangible artefact. This object can be the introduction to an exchange of difficult feelings that are otherwise hard to communicate.

Today on Good Day Kevin was with the residents of Mistywood, a local independent senior living community in Roseville, who are hosting Bingo and Bakers for Babies in support March of Dimes. For only $10 per person and $1 per bingo card, participants can enjoy a baked potato bar and other snacks while playing bingo with residents for various prizes. All proceeds from the event will go to March of Dimes, which helps moms have full-term pregnancies and researches the problems that threaten the health of babies.
